Bellatrix Lestrange (then Black) became one of his close friends and compatriots. Even though he is now living with Ophelia Llewellyn (after she walked out on their arranged marriage, even), he is no less devoted to his cause; he merely has to expend more effort into hiding what he does, and he hides it well.
