Oi, I'm rubbish at keeping up with this thing.

Doesn't help that things have been crazy at the hospital, and when I'm not there I'm busy helping Joceline take care of Marietta. She's getting so big!
Dragon pox season is upon us, remember to keep an eye on any coughs or cold symptoms in your wee ones, as they can often turn in the blink of an eye into something more serious. And if you find need for a check up, please don't hesitate to contact St. Mungo's to set up an appointment. It's always better safe than sorry, even if it means you personally request me and I'm swamped from here until March.

[Otto]
I saw a fascinating article in the Prophet today that made me think of you. It was about underage magic and studies on how early magical ability manifests and whether or not there's a correlation to strengths or overall ability once the individual hits adulthood.

So, at least when you have to send out those owls to the kids who do things they oughtn't, it could be a sign of bigger things? <s>Or not. I just wanted to talk to you because</s>

Dragon pox seems to be going around. I've had an alarming increase of patients coming to see me who've contracted them. Make sure that you wash your hands frequently and avoid hand to face contact as much as possible to avoid catching it yourself, and watch the wee ones to make sure they're doing well. And if not, make sure to get them in when you first suspect, rather than the first sign of scaly green skin rashes. Time is key in minimizing the length and strength of dragon pox cases!

Max
I feel like this is terribly forward of me, but given that I've been much more forward in the current year, I hope you'll forgive me if it's unwarranted.
Thank you, Joceline, for getting this journal for me. I had it tucked away from my birthday, but I've got some free time and I finally got around to updating it. Things have been busy at the hospital but having a place to write down my thoughts seems like it's for the best. There's been a lot going on, but luckily nothing too traumatic for the little ones. That always makes me so sad.

I know I'm late on the times here, but are there any other 1976 grads around? It's Ann Shimpling, I guess I should have said that earlier, yes?

Marissa Shimpling is the middle child of Mahitobel and Harold Shimpling. Growing up between Joceline and Heathcliff was not difficult; there was enough of an age gap (and kindness on her sister's part) that the girls get along fantastically, and her nurturing nature seemed to benefit her relationship with Heathcliff as they were growing up. Marissa has always had a bleeding heart, her mother used to joke that she knew her middle daughter would be a Hufflepuff before she turned five. Marissa's interest in healing came about after finding an abandoned baby duck and nursing it back to health prior to her years at Hogwarts. A very bright girl, she could have done well in Ravenclaw, but her giving nature was the deciding factor.

The war was hard on Marissa; there were times when she worked with children who were injured or harmed because of the fighting that she could hardly contain her grief over the situation. But her strength and resolve to work with the neediest of clients helped her persevere through those dark years. And now, she couldn't love her job more. She gets to see her niece Marietta often, as well as the children of some of her close friends from Hogwarts.
