Detailed description:
Henrike is of average height and stocky build. Her build is entirely built for solidity, with the extra puppy softness built from eating well and often, and working heavily on a farm but never working out. She keeps her blonde hair very long, and usual in one to two braids. She has no tattoos or piercings, but has several small scars from various accidents. The largest is on her knee, from falling on rocks while playing by a creek with her cousins. She has another one from falling out of a tree, on her forehead; it's very small and faint. Others on her arms and hands come from cat scratches.

At home and on weekends, she dressed for comfort in jeans, t-shirts, and the occasional tanktop. Clothing is shared in the family, so she has hand-me-downs from her brother and older cousins, and her things pass down to the younger ones. As a result, her jeans tend to drag too long and are turned up at the cuffs, and her t-shirts are baggy. She lives in sneakers, but has wandered around barefoot long enough that the soles of her feet resemble soles of shoes. She hardly ever layers up during the winter, still considering American winters warm in comparison to German winters.

Personality

Likes: Horses, books, football, Quidditch, comic books, the outdoors, flying, Halloween, arguing, Germany, socialism.
Dislikes: Being wrong, giving up, being cooped up, laziness, stupidity, soda, American food.
Quirks: Gets a rather enthusiastic view of Socialism from her mother, and likes to argue the different philosophies. Will sometimes lapse into German when frustrated or feeling contrite. Quick to anger. Also enjoys waxing poetic on the Midwest, as well as her native land.
Secrets:
+ Henrike doesn't always get along with her large family. She tries never to complain, because they're good people and they're family, so they're the one thing she tries not to rage about. In big families like hers, the most important thing in the world is family; it's more important than personal goals or other personal needs. Henrike knows that when she gets older, a large part of her life will be looking after her family if her brother doesn't. She doesn't want to be ruled by her family, and resents her parents somewhat because of this.

+ She wasn't proficient in English until she was fourteen. She spent most of her first years of school being very quiet and trying to learn without revealing her ignorance. She's still nervous about people criticizing her language skills, because she feels she's not good enough or fluent enough.

+ She's terrible at Astronomy. It really bothers her, and she feels like it undermines her personal standards for her intelligence. She studies hardest for it so no one will know she's sub-par in any subject.

What's in your character's pockets?:
Markus, pens, hair ties, her wand.

Strengths
: Defense Against the Dark Arts, healthy self-esteem, refuses to believe in anything but win-win situations. She has a strong personality and a strong right hook.
Weaknesses: She can be overly arrogant, leading to foolish mistakes. Haughty and stubborn, and pigheaded to a fault. Argues when she shouldn't and doesn't need to. She can annoy people and push them away by being too combative and too self-righteous.
Strongest subject in school: Transfiguration.
Weakest Subject: Astronomy.

Detailed Personality:
Henrike is a child of two worlds, in more ways than one. Growing up in Northern Germany and in the American Midwest, she has a strong sense of family and a strong sense of skepticism. She is intelligent, proud, and argumentative. Her stubbornness has led her to cling to the language and customs of Germany, while at the same time her sense of adventure has led her to embrace the customs of her new home, as well. Her political views are staunchly socialist, and she's not afraid to tell people, which has landed her in trouble with her father and with other people in the past.

She grew up around horses, both in Missouri and in Germany. She's by no means an expert rider, but she's comfortable enough and loves horses even more than she loves flying. One of the many things she still resents about leaving Germany is leaving the horses behind, though her uncle owned horses in Missouri as well.

Henrike has a short temper, and can turn the mildest debate into a screaming row if she doesn't keep it on a leash. She's impatient, stubborn, and opinionated, which are not the best traits to combine under any circumstances. To add to it, she has a large superiority complex, especially where her lineage is concerned. She has extreme pride in her nation, regardless of history (Especially as most Germans refuse to discuss portions of their history, period.). While she enjoys her life in the States, a large part of her wishes to go home to the outlying areas of Beilefeld.

She spends most of her time, when not studying or working, with her nose buried in fantasy books, completely ignoring the irony. Secretly, she spends much of her time daydreaming. Despite all the magic evident in her world, sometimes she wishes for an epic journey or quest of her own.

She enjoys mudding, hunting and horseback riding. She is part of Quidditch Club, and proudly supports the German National Team. She's a large fan of Igor Brand, one of the chasers. She also plays football (The European definition) and right now is a walking World Cup update. Her non-cup team is Berliner FC Dynamo.

Personal History

Henrike was born in Hamburg, and lived there until the age of two. But her parents soon moved to Beilefeld, because they have no sense of irony, either. She went to elementary school there, but was never an extremely friendly child. Regardless, she did have a couple friends and was very unhappy to see them go when her family moved. They lived there until she was ten, and her brother was nineteen. The move was hardest on him, because he had the most ties to the country, but Henrike had been highly nationalistic as well, both of them following their mother's zealous example. She also felt the loss of her friends and her school, as well as her customs and language. The journey to America had been a unhappy one for her, her brother, and her mother, and taxing on her father.

Henrike began to manifest in the weeks leading up to and following the move, as her emotions hit a high point and her anger and unhappiness caused her tantrums to take on a truly new and extravagant level. As much as her parents were frustrated by the chaos caused, they were overjoyed that their daughter exhibited signs of magic, as her brother was an out and out squib.

Once they had arrived, however, they were swept up in the family ties and festivities, and Henrike's parents realized that soon they would have to enroll Henrike in a Wizarding school. It wasn't something they had considered or discussed before, as Hannes was a squib, and had no schooling outside of the muggle German system. They looked at the surrounding schools, and settled on CCI as it had  the best Quidditch team which really was their deciding factor.

When Henrike arrived at the school, she was nervous and worried about her language skills. Nevertheless, she was determined to do well and overcome the other students and her own shortcomings, no matter the cost. In school, she was quiet and studious for the first few years. She didn't spend a lot of time socializing until she became more secure in her grasp of the English language.

She wrote to her family as often as she could, though her cousins didn't know the true nature of the boarding school that she had been sent to. For a long time, she resented the school and the other students, and looked forward mainly to going home.

But the years went by, and by the time she reached her Freshman year, she began to let go of the anger she felt at being uprooted and forced into a different lifestyle, and started to open up to making friends and talking to people.

When she was sorted, it came as no surprise to her or her parents that she was in Sonnier. Headstrong, hardowrking, confident, and clever, she had never planned nor wanted to be in a different house. She entered Sonnier with pride, and her head held high, because she honestly believes that she is better than a good number of the student body. She enjoyed school more, and she entered her Sophomore year feeling more secure at CCI.

Samples

RP Sample:
Henrike was braiding her hair, feet on her desk and rear end on her bed, her room in her parents' house small enough for her legs to span the distance comfortably. She had to keep a toe on the mirror to keep it from tilting one way or the other, and the combination of all the efforts of her hands and feet had her sticking her tongue out in concentration.

"Mädchen!"

Henrike fell off the bed with a loud thunk. "Ow!"

Her mother peeked in. "Rike, what are you doing? Your cousins are here, hurry up!It's bad to keep people waiting."

Henrike started cursing as she got up. On the bright side, she had tied her braid off before falling. On the other hand, her knee hurt. So did her ass.

"I'm going, I'm going." She kissed her mother on the cheek. "Hab dich Liebe, Mutti!"

"Don't track mud in the house when you get home! And don't die!"

Henrike ran out the door, slamming the screen door before jumping behind Brandon on his four-wheeler.

"Let's get messy!" He yelled, before gunning it and taking off toward the creek bed, Henrike and his other brother hollering along with him.
