When you're broken, in a million little pieces

Last week, we went and applied for food stamps (along with put DH on the medical card). Today, I received something in the mail - I have to fill out a new form or lose the medical card. I have no idea what I did wrong, except talk to someone other than my caseworker. I'm bugging out like you have no idea, they have me down as being pregnant with the baby to be born September of 2007, and that our monthly income is 0. ?_? I have no idea what's going on.

I know this past month we've literally been living on whatever scraps we can get, but I know I didn't put down that we have 0 income. We just need a little extra to make it until the overtime picks up at work. That is literally our food budget. DH's income tax is going to pay off one of our loans (we're at 3,000 out of 5,500) and then we'll be good with or w/o the extra help. But ugh...

I'm stressing out because I'm so afraid we're losing the medical card - we can't afford anything w/o it. And I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. DH had gotten a slight raise since last we were out there, but 20 cents an hour doesn't really make that much of a difference. I called DHS and left a message hopefully someone'll get back to me soon. If not, I'm afraid we're losing our only lifeline right now. DH has no insurance (which is why we went to put him on there).

I'm sitting here actually shaking I'm so freaking nervous.
  • They've done that to me. Paperwork gets screwed up then they revoke things. It's all a matter of jumping through the hoops again until you talk to the right person. I don't know how it is out there, but out here our state medical insurance cannot refuse a pregnant. They're covered no matter what.
