o1. What kind of RP is this exactly?

nixcore is a Naruto-themed RP where the characters are in modern-day Los Angeles, California. By certain circumstances, they all end up employed in one way or another by an independent adult movie company called Nixcore. o2. Are players expected to RP smut?
Yes and no. You do have the choice to not log any NC-17 material or make your character an "actor/tress." There are other methods of employment at the company- say you want to be a secretary, a talent scout, director, or a writer.
o3. How do we RP here?
You can RP through threads in character journals [in first person for general journal interaction - third person for real-time IC interaction via logs], or participate in the group threads in the main community. If you would like to post a log you and another player did on IM, then post it in either the main community journal or in your character journal. Be sure to friends-lock it if it is R-rated! If you did a separate log and would like to share it, feel free to post it! We all would love to read it!
o4. How can I contact other players as well as the moderators?
All players of Nixcore are required to have AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) so this is the primary means of contact. You can find this information on the contact information.

o5. I don't have a lot of experience in RPing adult themes, but would like to try to RP here. Is that okay?

o6. What is a PB?
A PB is a real-life person you're basing your character on. Browsing the taken characters list will show you the choices some other players have made. You're free to choose whoever you'd like, but please try to keep a PB that does physically resemble the character in some way. Also keep it within the gender. Do not use a male to represent a female character or a female to resemble a male character. If you need help finding a PB, players and mods are always eager to help!
Edit 112808: Can I change my PB? Yes! You are definitely allowed to change your PB if the one you have chosen just isn't working for you anymore, or if you've found someone that is just perfect. But while we allow you to do this, please, please don't change your PB once a week. There's no limit on how much you can change your PB, but really you shouldn't need to change it more than once. It's a task for both you and the mods, because you have to go change icons, and we have to reupdate all the images and text on the lists. So long story short, yes, you can change your PB. But no, you cannot change it over and over and over and over again.
If you do want to change your PB, please contact the mods BEFORE you change it. You do need mod approval to go through with this.
o7. There are certain things I won't RP [such as BDSM or lesbianism]. Is that okay?
We don't want you uncomfortable in any way in this RP. If there are certain things you like to RP or don't please say so! By telling us what you prefer to RP, we can set up group RP scenes much better!
o8. How many characters can I apply for?
The current limit is three[3] per player. Though for your third character, certain requirements must be met. Please contact the mods for further information.
o9. Can the characters have side jobs?
Yes! Nixcore doesn't have to be their sole means of money! They can work at a bar, be in a band, coffee house, roller-rink, be a full-time struggling college student, and etc. Or they can just do it because they want to? Be as creative as you like, but be sure that they work at Nixcore! If you're having trouble trying to figure out your character, then you can discuss it with the mods!
o10. May I apply for deceased/underage characters?
You can apply for deceased characters, but absolutely NO underage ones!
o11. How do journals work here? What kind of format do we write in them?
Write in your journals in first person format. Use your character journals like you would your own LiveJournal. The characters are not face-to-face when they interact with each other via the internet. The scene logs are an exception- they are in real-time, but you must be in third person to participate (unless stated otherwise). For separate logs, please write them in third person format (again, unless stated otherwise).
o12. Besides separate logs and scene threads, what else can be posted in the main community? Or is that it?
You can also use the main community as an "IC bulletin board:" If you need a place to stay, or you're a director advertising for actors to do a certain movie? Then you can use the main community for these as well!
o13. I applied for a character, but I forgot to check the reservation list- someone reserved the same character! What do-
-... Don't worry. Even though we have the reservation system here, there is still a "first come, first serve" deal in it. However we strongly believe in giving anyone a chance at a character. If there are multiple applications for a character [reserved or not- which is why its sometimes best to reserve and apply as soon as possible], the mod will inform you that your applications will be held and put up for vote by the members in the OOC community [
nixedandfixed]. Here is where you will remain anonymous, and the members will decide upon the best application for the character. When the final result comes in, a mod will get in contact with you [or all of you] as soon as possible! If you have any other questions, feel free to leave a comment.
REMEMBER: Reservations will only be held for four days. Once four days have passed and you have not filled out the application yet, the character is up for grabs again!

o1. You must be at least 17 years of age in order to apply. No minors are allowed in the game! While researching international law, seventeen appeared to be the most common age for a legal adult. So the minimum age allowed in the RP is officially seventeen.
o2. You must be comfortable with adult-related material. In this RP there will be NC-17 rated logs present, or you will be required to participate in an NC-17 log, as well as possible sexual content within the character journals. If you are not comfortable with such explicit themes, then this RP is not for you.
o3. Naruto characters only! The only characters that are allowed here are from the series Naruto. Naruto OC's (original characters) are NOT allowed here. Canonly dead characters are permitted to apply. The only alternate characters allowed in the game are Kyuubi and Shuukaku. The only characters that will NEVER be accepted are Naruko and Sasuko due to these being nothing more than OCs, and Uzumaki Kushina out of respect for the storyline created between the Naruto and Minato muns. Uchiha Mikoto/Fugaku can also not be applied for due to the respect of the Itachi and Sasuke muns.
o4. No godmodding is allowed. For more information on what godmodding is, refer to this link here. If there are issues in which you are subject to godmodding, please rectify the issue with the other player first. If it is something even more serious, feel free to contact a mod so they can help rectify the problem with you.
o5. Please put large or non worksafe images under a friend's cut! Be considerate of the other players' friends list!
o6. Character pregnancy, or characters having children are not allowed. However, character relationships/marriages/pairings are more than encouraged here. This is also a yaoi/yuri/heterosexual-friendly community. But remember that this is a sex industry-related game, which means your respected partner MIGHT have in character sex with others. Discuss this situation thoroughly with the other player you're paired with before you two agree on getting your characters together!
o7. Shotacon and Lolicon are NOT allowed here! If you apply, your character MUST be 18 years of age (the standard starting age for actors/tresses in the adult industry).
o8. Please put all logs under a friends lock! This is only to protect your privacy.
o9. Please be as IC (in character) as possible! Don't slack in your characterization or you'll receive a warning. Crack is allowed in the game, so its not going to be entirely serious. We only ask that you're in character most of the time in anything you do.
o10. Staying active in the game is imperative to keep it alive! Please try to post at least once every two weeks! Commenting to other characters is also mandatory. This is how you build character interaction. Each end of the month, the mods will do regular activity checks. Don't be put on the warning list! Try your best to be active and available!
EDIT 112108: If you can't keep up with a fast-paced roleplay, or if you do not have the time to be roleplaying (college/jobs keep you busy) do not join. This has been something of an issue in the past with people joining only to go on hiatus for a month then drop. Please, please make sure you have the time to be roleplaying before you waste ours. Thank you.
o11. If you are making a post in the IC main community, please tag your entries! They'll be better to keep track of in the future.
o12. Do not let OOC drama and personal feelings overwhelm you in the game! This is for fun, and we do not have fun if you are making others uncomfortable or you yourself are uncomfortable. You must also remember that anything said and done in IC is and will never be the player's true feelings. Mods exist for a reason. If something or someone is disrupting you from enjoying the RP, please contact us! We're here to help!
o13. What goes on in the community chat room stays there. Unless you have written permission, all community chats are OOC and anything discussed in them are strictly for informational purposes out of IC, not for IC plot device.
o14. Zero tolerance to OOC/IC bullying. This is the quickest way to get automatically kicked out of the game. Be polite and respectful of each other and your differences, please.
o15. No sharing of personal journal amongst non-players! This rule is actually very serious. Your personal journal is meant for you and you alone. Sharing it means allowing someone outside the community to see things they have no permission to view.
o16. You must have AIM. This is the most commonly used client that players use in the community. It will ensure contact with everyone as well as being a sure and easier way for moderators and players to contact you.
o17. DO NOT JOIN SOLELY FOR A PAIRING. This is actually a serious problem and a serious annoyance. If you ship, let's say, Lee/Gaara, and there is a Gaara but not a Lee, do not join as Lee just to get with Gaara. This rule does not imply that Gaara and Lee are not allowed to be in a relationship. It's saying that your character should not exist solely to be in this relationship. To keep the comm alive, interaction with everybody is imperative. Remember that you're totally allowed to have deep, meaningful, loving relationships between your characters. But if that's all there is to your character, and they only interact with their one true love, you're playing for a pairing and this is not allowed.
o18. If you have multiple characters, do not, under any circumstance, make a relationship between them that requires constant interaction. This is a form of meta-gaming, and is something that we do not allow. This includes having one of your characters know everything another of yours does, says, or thinks. Or jumping in and defending one of your characters with another of yours. Play through troubles with one character and don't rely on another to bail them out. This is what leads to character development, and that is delicious. Even if your characters are best friends, overusing that status is unacceptable, not to mention unfair to the other players/characters.
Meta-gaming is another form of godmodding. We have a strict policy against it. So whereas you don't think you're godmodding your character you're actually doing something far worse. And really, why would you want to sit there and RP with yourself anyway?
