I've been asked to give my estranged sister's hand for marriage while the other remains catatonic. I dearly wish my father would see reason so he could make the decision in this matter, but I do understand his grave reservations with Tegan's separation from the family. However, I also understand her need to remove herself from the situation. I cannot fathom what it must be like to see your vivacious twin sister become an emotionless mute, but I must say, as an older brother, it's a terrible thing to witness. I do, however, question Joshua's suitability for Tegan because he did admit that he came to me without first attempting to seek out my parents.

Statistics say that if they're not found in the first 48 hours, the likelihood of finding them alive is grim.

It's been nearly two months. Hope is such an irrational thing.

I should have taken up smoking fags a bit sooner. Could have saved myself the trouble of imbibing a whole bottle of firewhiskey. They really aren't that bad. Honestly. Did you that Muggles have put filters on them now? I was surprised. Though I suppose my granddad did make his own and his smelled more sweet than anything I've found. If he was still around, I'd trouble him for the name. It's been too long and I've gone and forgotten. I do faintly remember the scent, but that's not much to go on.

[Private] I can't believe I missed her birthday. Well, I didn't actually know it was her birthday, but I should have. I would have known if I'd actually taken the time to read the Ministry newsletter, but it's in pile with everything else I've been neglecting at work and

Bollocks. Umbridge is going to have my bloody head. I'm getting so behind on my cases, but it's not something I can really help. The atmosphere around Callaghan isn't getting any better and Ainsworth is a complete whirlwind. He also has absolutely no idea that there are dark wizards who want to control him and are planning to attack him soon. Of course he would think I'm completely mad if I ever told him that, so.

I can't believe I missed her birthday. And now she's sick with something that the doctors can't even diagnose and I should have been there, I should have been the one to take her to see a doctor, and Gods I am relieved that someone did take her. But I can't even see her now since I'm not family. And I don't know. Maybe it's better that I'm cut off from her right now. It's not like I could tell her what I've really been up to and my presence is only going to put her in danger. But bloody hell. No one is getting any better.

Merlin. I hope I can keep my focus tonight.[/Private]

[James] Big, big problem. How quickly can you make it to London? [/James]

[Lily] I hate to ask so abruptly <s>since I'm about to steal your husband for a while but</s> but can I ask a favor of you? [/Lily]

[Order]
Bollocks. Well. In case you hadn't noticed, the Muggle parliament is completely nozzed up at the moment. A decent amount of the workforce had gone on strike - including the likes of gravediggers and healers - but supposedly the parliament has that all cleared up now. Even though many of those striking workers don't seem to have noticed that an agreement was reached.

Sparky is more anxious than I've ever seen him. There are several growing rumors that one or more political party may reach a vote of no confidence within the coming weeks. Things certainly don't look good and all this distraction has definitely made the parliament more vulnerable. Things may need to be watched more closely. The slightest interference could become catastrophe for the Muggles. It's only a matter of time before Voldemort realizes this, if he hasn't already.

As much as I enjoy the meals in bed, it feels like it's been months since we've done something that didn't involve me falling asleep on the couch. [/Bertha]

Bertha. The kitten is attacking my plants and I don't know how to make her stop. There are bite marks all along the leaves now. I can never seem to catch her in the act, but I can see her handiwork well enough.
