Detailed personality: Alistair is every bit the product of his upbringing, at least in terms of inheriting the strong prejudice for the purity of wizarding blood and the mindset that wizarding race is to be set apart and superior to the human race. As the younger sibling, he has a fierce want to prove himself as just as able, both academically, and in further pursuits, though this pressure is of his own invention, his parents never favoured either child over the other. His bloodline is pure, though their family name does not have particular prestige; Alistair's interests lie in generating more for his family name than the establishment in Knockturn Alley. He is willing to work for what he wants, and to focus solely on goals at least try to, as he his hardly immune to distraction when it arrives in the right form - still, he does his best to act as a professional when it truly matters. Despite having such an self important agenda, the majority of the the time Alistair displays an easy going, friendly and generally approachable attitude one might expect from a Gryffindor. He is not so difficult to befriend given a little time. This attitude is one he has adopted since graduating Hogwarts, choosing not to uphold the common, nose-in-the-air demeanour oft attributed to most Slytherins, even post-Voldemort days. This is not a entirely false persona, following the fall of Lord Voldemort it was simply easier to blend, to continue to succeed if one seemed willing to be less snobbish, and rather more approachable and flaunting blood-purity had little worth.

Personal History: Born to a well established, a but not particularly prestigious pure-blood family, Alistair did not possess the exorbitant wealth to be considered amongst the more prominent or 'elite' Slytherins at Hogwarts; their wealth average. For the most part kept his head down, focusing on studies - throwing the odd harassment in to Gryffindors here or there, but never one of the more noticeable Slytherin bullies. His elder brother made his contribution to family pride as a skilled Quidditch player for Slytherin (going on to play professionally) leaving Alistair to make little impact upon the school, or succeed in impressing his parents other than to achieve generally high marks in the subjects he took. In school he was never particularly social, however it did not mean he lacked the ability, generally he was ignored by his fellows due to the particularly bland status of his family, who whilst supporting the dark arts, in the acquisition of dark magical artefacts for sale, had a less to do with aiding the Dark Lord';s cause, hardly a central role. His family was no more prominent in the return of Lord Voldemort and as an underage student when it finally came to the battle of Hogwarts, Alistair was safely ushered away from the fight and protected with his fellow students. Following he fall of the Dark Lord, all associates and allies were hunted and incarcerated and those linked even remotely were sure to be monitored. Alder Burke's role in sourcing dark magical artefacts was halted, as Borgin & Burkes like much of Knockturn Alley was suddenly kept under a closer watch than everbefore, their trade suffering for it. The wizarding world seemed to be over-alert to any form of dark magic. As a result the Burke family funds diminished, the already considerably average family name thought the less off when Alistair was presented with his brother's hand-me-down text books and robes in his later Hogwarts years. It cemented further in Alistair a strong work ethic, knowing nothing would be so easily handed to him.

It would seem odd for a studious, but largely unnoticed Slytherin to apply for a position in the Auror Department upon graduation, but not unheard of - the sorting hat had, after all debated his house and the boy had fervently thought Slytherin in hopes of following his family expectations. He took to his training with the same attitude he had shown toward his schoolwork, absolute dedication. Amongst his fellow trainees he became more relaxed, and gained stronger friendships than he ever had within Hogwarts school; houses and breeding mattered less when their cause was the same. The personality he'd boxed in during his schooling years flourished. He had never found himself in a particularly stable relationship, or ..actually any at all yet he couldn't help but be caught up in the interest mentioning you were a training Auror received. The attention of young witches had never been particularly in his favour before, and it was impossible not to become a little addicted to it. He passed his training with close to flying colours, only having to re-sit one of his practical exams. Alistair has since worked in the Auror Department and since become a registered Animagus, choosing first to complete his Auror training before mastering the particularly difficult spell. As part of an exchange program of sorts, he has recent opted in to work alongside the USA's NYAW, in their Magical Law Enforcement department an exciting opportunity, however he must first earn his stripes by serving at the esteemed Dresden Academy. Not quite the excitement he expected, but as the exchange is intended for two years, or less - it is merely a process of having to work ones way up again from the rookie rungs.
