What If: Family Life [02 May 2011|03:03am]
Lian was enjoying a couple of hours of precious sleep, having not gotten much since the twins were born.

The sound of fussing on the baby monitor at two a.m caused her eyes to flutter open.

Lian tried her best not to stir, hoping that her husband would wake up and at least see who was crying so she could get a couple more minutes of sleep in before going to join him.

Plot Idea: The Great Cyberchase [24 Mar 2011|05:30pm]
1. A yet to be named/made NPC (who is a huge fan of Star City's local team of edgy superheroes, the Outsiders), decides to devise a "test" for the team to "prove their worth".
2. Develops a program and hacks into the Outsiders computer mainframe after some time.
3. When Tim is in the lab one day, he turns on the computer and the program activates, pulling all of the Outsiders inside of the computer into the world wide web.
4. Outsiders go through several various popular gamesites (example: a WoW style game, mayber internet Tetris. I don't play enough online games, and therefore need to familiarize myself before coming up with anything else. Outsiders might also have to deal with possibly being powerless.
5. Outsiders need to stick together through the challenges to avoid getting sucked into the web and separated (so no wandering off to look for porn, Joey. :-P).
6. At the final challenge, Outsiders will face the bad guy (I'm thinking this might be the WoW style game), and outsmart him so they can get out of the internet and back into the real world. Baddie will show up to annoy the Outsiders from time to time, as he's really not a serious threat.

This is an extremely rough draft, brought up by an idea in chat by Dylan. Needs a lot more developing before I submit a final write-up.

Flashback: Age 5 [18 Mar 2011|11:04pm]
"They won't find us here," Lian said, crouching next to Cerdian in the hangar in Titans Compound.

"We are going to be in so much trouble," Cerdian said, his eyes wide.

"Relax," said Lian, "We didn't mean to send the whole compound into lock-down mode...it just kinda happened."

Things normally "just kinda happened" when Lian got one of her ideas.

"Lian...what if they say we can't be friends anymore?"

Lian snapped her head around, narrowing her eyes at him. "No. That is not going to happen. We're best friends. They can't tell us we can't be best friends."

"But...we get into a lot of trouble."

Technically, Lian got them into a lot of trouble, but who was saying anything?

"Well...that is true...and it's kinda my fault why we get into so much trouble...but we always have fun. And if anyone says we can't be friends anymore, I will go to Atlantis and get you, and we'll run away somewhere where they can't stop us from being friends."

"You mean it, Lian?"

Lian extended a pinkie. "I pinkie swear," she said. "We'll always be best friends. And we'll always be together, Cerdian."

He raised an eyebrow at her. "What's a pinkie swear?"

"It's only the strongest promise in the entire world," she explained. "It can't be broken because it's that strong."

He blinked, nodding slowly. Surface customs were still a little strange to him. "Oh."

"Hold out your pinkie, Cerdian."

He did so, and Lian wrapped hers around his.

"I pinkie swear that we'll always be together and we'll always be best friends, no matter what." She smiled at him.

Flashback: Age 7 [03 Jan 2011|11:25pm]
For some reason, Lian found herself and Cerdian standing in what was the kitchen at Titan's Tower.

It might have had something to do with "borrowing" Uncle Vic's equipment. It may or may not have been her idea.

All Lian knew was that they were big trouble when the adults got back.

Five years in the future (AU) [25 Dec 2010|12:03am]
Lian Wilson sat back on the sofa, watching her children play. They had both grown so quickly, and it seemed like only yesterday that they were just little babies. Alexander took more after her, in his playful nature and quickness to find himself to get into trouble. Donn was her father's daughter, thoughtful and cunning for her age, though she had a bit of a wild streak in her that her brother often brought out in her. While she often told them that, no, it was not a very good idea to try play pranks on Granny Talia, they often managed to get into some sort of trouble anyway, relying on their adorable looks to get them out of it.

They were old enough to start their training. Donna, being the oldest, would be trained to take over Damien someday as the Demon's Head, while Alex, would be trained by his aunt to fill the role of the Demon's Fang. Though it unsettled Lian a little, she knew that Damien would not allow the instructors to mistreat his children in anyway...or to pit them against each other.

Today, the three of them were very excited, as Damien was coming home from a month-long mission tracking down his upstart of a cousin, Henry. While she truly enjoyed the company of her children, she did miss her husband.

She also had some exciting news for him. As he had been dropping hints of wanting another child before he left, he would be very pleased to know that his wish to extend their little family would soon be coming true...

Five years in the future [24 Dec 2010|11:39pm]
"Mommy!" Lian was attacked by her twins when she came to pick them up from school that day.

She laughed. "Hi munchkins," she said, kissing them on the cheek.

Alex frowned. "I'm ot a munchkin, Mommy," he said, folding his arms over his chest. "I'm the tallest in the class. I'm taller than Donna, and she's older than me!"

Donna scowled at her brother, sticking her tongue at him. "Just 'cause I'm older, doesn't mean that I can't kick your butt!"

Lian laughed. They got on each others nerves all the time, but they were really the best of friends. They did everything together, and had each others backs. Lian had gotten a call from the school last week that Alex had gotten in trouble for throwing Play-Doh at a girl that had been teasing Donna. When Lian had gone to tell her son that he couldn't do that, he had told her "I'm just lookin' out for my sister, like you and Daddy told me to, Mommy." Lian couldn't argue with that.

Her and Cerdian had been married for a year, now. The twins had been overjoyed when they had told them. Even though they knew that "Uncle Cerdian" wasn't really their father, he was always like one to them, even before him and Lian married. And they certainly had no problems calling him "Daddy", either. And Cerdian didn't mind it at all.

Taking their hands, Lian walked with them to her car.

"We're going to go home and wait for Daddy," she said, "Then we're going to Grandpa Roy's for dinner. Daddy might have said something about going out for ice cream later...but that's up to him, so be extra good, okay?"

They nodded in unison, before babbling excitedly about their day.

What if: A different kind of life [28 Nov 2010|10:43pm]
Lian rolled over in bed, awakened by the uneasy feeling in her stomach. She wasn't throwing up as frequently in the morning, but the queasy feeling was still there.

She put her hand on her stomach, which was now decently swollen.

Lian smiled, rolling to face the sleeping man next to her.

"Good morning," she said, smiling, leaning into kiss his neck.

Test scene [17 Apr 2010|02:10pm]
Another night in Star City. Another mugger down, as the heroine known as Jade Arrow made her way through her nightly patrol.

Firing a grappling arrow, she made her way back up to the rooftop perch that she'd been nesting on. Taking out her night vision goggles from underneath her cloak, she kept an eye out for anything else that might require her attention.

And then she heard it. He was trying to be sneaky, but she heard the feet land on the rooftop behind her. Jade Arrow rolled her eyes. Of course he was going to try and sneak up on her.

"Don't even think about it."

Also, though she would never use them, Lian has been training in the uses of various poisons and their antidotes.
Weaknesses and flaws: Lian is a normal human girl, with normal human frailties.
Character location/Home: Star City

Relatives (living/dead?): Roy Harper (father, living), Jade Nguyen/Cheshire (mother, current status unknown),Kim Nguyen-Blake (half-brother, living), Oliver Queen (adoptive 'grandfather', living), Connor Hawke (adoptive uncle, living), Keith Queen (adoptive 'cousin'... though he calls himself her uncle when he feels like being annoying), Robert Queen (adoptive uncle), Mia Dearden (adoptive aunt, living), Dick Grayson (godfather, living)
Backstory:
Lian is the daughter Roy Harper and Jade Nguyen, the assassin known as Cheshire, conceived when Roy first met her when he was Speedy. After their affair, Roy refused to turn her in, and a year later, in Europe, when Roy was on a mission to stop Cheshire, he learned that he was Lian's father. Though Cheshire originally refused, Roy eventually gained full custody of Lian, and raised her as a single father.

Growing up, Lian felt conflicted that her mother was a supervillain. Did she not love her? Was it Lian's fault that she was a bad person? Though he may have not left on the best of terms with Jade, Roy was able to tell Lian that while Jade was never able to take care of Lian, she loved her just as much as she did.

Lian was raised with the Titans, and was the first of the 'Titans kids'. While she cares about them all like they're a part of her extended family, she feels a certain closeness to Cerdian, who she considers to be her best friend.

Over the years, Lian has grown to terms that while her mother loves her, she is still a supervillain that blew up a country. On a visit to her mother in prison a couple of years ago, Lian forgave her mother for all of the pain and confusion that she had about her as a child. Cheshire then escaped a few months later, and hasn't been heard from since. Lian doesn't know if her mother is alive or not, but seriously doubts that she has just retired and settles down to live a quiet live.

While she is aware that her mother had a son with Catman, Thomas Blake, she does not know who he is, nor has she even met him.

Currently, Lian is a student at Star City University, where she is majoring in social work. When she's not at school, she is also known as Jade Arrow...a nod to both sides of her heritage.

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: Doing her thing in Star City. Then, the Royal Flush gang is going to show up and complicate her life.
What are you planning to do with this character?: Reform the Outsiders.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: See where the Outsiders take her. I'd also like her to come in conflict with her half-brother, and maybe even her mother at some point.
