| Oh, Merlin but I've been busy. Ever since I was sick this winter, my ability to fend off germs seems to have taken a horrible dive. I spent another whole week out of work in March, and then catching back up seemed nearly impossible. And of course I'd barely picked up my journal between January and then anyway. Work just keeps me moving constantly and Mum's been so difficult and of course the rest of life goes on as well.
To my friends, I'm so very sorry that I've been anti-social of late. Honestly, I really don't mean to be. I just get so caught up in things that have to get done that I never seem to get to the things I want to do. And I'm so jealous that Joy's going to Monaco that I nearly can't stand it
Oh Merlin that's so unfair. I should be happy for her, not jealous.
I want to do something fun. | comments: Leave a comment |
| | I was under the impression that we at the ministry were not aware of this anomaly you call 'fun'. | | (Reply) (Thread) |
| | I've heard rumours about it, though! It sounds very similar to the Ministry-approved states of "contentment" and "satisfaction", but a little more lively. I think I might like to check it out. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| If I didn't have so much bloody work I'd suggest that
Er, well. I'm sure you'll figure something out, smart girl that you are. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| Maybe sometime we could
Dee's stepping in as a tour guide into the world of fun, luckily. I don't know that I'm brave enough to step out into it on my own. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| It's a terribly intimidating place, I think.
Would you like to go to dinner if you survive? | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| You mean like a Are you asking me on a
That sounds lovely. When would you like to go? (Assuming that Dee doesn't get me eaten by a sea monster.) | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| Yes, like a date.
We should probably give you a day of rest between your adventure and dinner, so how about Thursday? | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| Thursday works for me, as long as it's after 7. I'll need time to | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| | Naturally. I never get out of the office before then anyway. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| I'm usually more the go-in-early sort. In the Auror office there's always someone who sticks around late, but if I want the place to myself enough that I can actually get things done, I've found that getting in around 6:30 or 7 early works best. Name your time, then, Mr. Selwyn. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| Well, I usually go in early as well as get out late
How about 7:30? That seems like a safe amount of time for me to get myself in order before dinner. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| | 7:30 it is. Would you like to pick me up, or meet somewhere? | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |

| | I think I would enjoy that. There's no law that says I can't take a little break for one evening from worrying about everyone else. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| | I can dump the baby on his papa and find something very fun to do! | | (Reply) (Thread) |
| | We...could...do...girl stuff. I haven't done girl stuff in a long time. I'm not really into girl's stuff, but even I can't deny a good manicure. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| That actually does sound like a good idea. For extra girlyness, we should also bake cookies.
[Warded to Deirdra] Look up there. Did I just get asked on a date? | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |

| His name's Braith Selwyn. We met at the Tipsy Teapot - you know, that teashop/used books place - when we both just happened to be going through the books, and we started talking. We had tea, and then when I was so sick he came by to see me in the hospital, but there hasn't been anything really...well, you know...date-like. Not until now.
...and he really is handsome. Very. And I'm afraid he has a lot of my obsessive tendencies, but at least that means he understands how I tend to be about work and family and all. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |

| Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. That's really good though! I mean, that he understands your ways and stuff, because that would drive you crazy, I think. If someone didn't. Get you.
Oh, you know what I mean!
And it definitely helps that he's handsome. Braith. Very fancy. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |

| Not to mention drive him crazy. That's usually the problem.
Braith. Welsh, I think. Or at least that's what I assume, with a last name like Selwyn. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |

| | Well duh! Finn's not around a whole lot because he's got to go to practices and stuff but I've totally got Cormac to keep me company. We went out and got some sun on the beach together yesterday and he was sooo cute in his little bitty sunglasses I bought him and I'll have to send you a picture!! | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
