I want this to be amazing so badly. HAVE YOU COME BACK TO ME DISNEY? I really like the character designs (HELLO PRINCE NAVEEN), and I'm sure the music will be great. Dr. Facilier looks like he might be a Jafar/Ursula type, WHICH WOULD BE AWESOME. 3D animation can be really fantastic (Pixar, hell, I loved Meet the Robinsons), but OMG TRADITIONAL ANIMATION YUM.

Warner Bros. has officially picked up Death Note. ZEFRON GET ON THIS SO YOU CAN BE A SRS ACTOR. If they honestly treated this like the supernatural-psychological drama/thriller it is, I think it could be decent.

Damn, I can't believe Death Note ended almost two years ago. :/

In a probably spectacularly stupid move, I've got almost all of xxxHolic and Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle on my laptop. I'm going to try and get through them before both series end, I've been slacking way too long. I'm desperately hoping that once these two are over, Legal Drug will be back in business.The teases in Kobato are just too cruel. D: I wonder if CLAMP postponed Legal Drug because of possible storyline conflicts with xxxHolic/Tsubasa?

I'm also really happy to see that the Wii is finally getting some decent-looking RPGs - Tales of Graces looks like it could be a good Tales game (I haven't played one since Symphonia), but I'm a little more interested in Arc Rise Fantasia. Baten Kaitos made me partial to turn-based battle systems, and there also seems to be a good number of possible party members, which I always like. :D

Went home for Easter, now back at school. I hope everyone is having a good April!

Finished Prince of Persia a few weeks ago, over spring break. Knew what was coming at the end, and was still all "D:!" The entire game was ridiculously gorgeous, even running on the lowest settings with occasional lag on my wimpy system here at home. Pretty easy, especially once I figured out what attack combos work well, but I'm a sucker for character interaction, and I absolutely loved the story. NEXT GAME PLZ UBISOFT.

There's some awesome artwork in this week's Entertainment Weekly. I pretty much have a subscription for the pretties, not the content.

I hope everyone's having a great spring so far, I can't believe it's almost the end of the school year. :D

Sunday, June 21: Merlin premiere (8 pm/ET)

YES, YES, AND YES. Dear friends list, if you enjoy the mangling of Arthurian legend, ye olde bromance, bad CGI and a smokin' cast, then this show is for you. I'm going to have a small seizure if/when commercials for this start popping up. I'm really surprised NBC is going for this. I wonder if they'll try to market it to Heroes fans in need of a summer fix? The Sims 3 is coming out in June too. Oh God.

Going home today! I am determined to beat Prince of Persia by the end of next week.

Sita Sings the Blues has been released! I've been watching this forever, almost forgot about it, and was so happy to find that Nina Paley had managed to release it in full. The animation and character design in this is absolutely gorgeous. It's part autobiography, part retelling of the Ramayana (my only knowledge of it is Wikipedia, the opening of A Little Princess and what very little I learned of it in school) from Sita's point of view. The best part of this is the shadow puppets who provide the background information, they keep correcting each other and mispronouncing names. :D

Watched the first episode of Rebuild of Evangelion. I forgot how unassuming it starts out! "ololol just a story about a boy and his mecha-mom and the fate of the world~" :| I also love how Anno was all "we used Judeo-Christian imagery 'CAUSE IT LOOKS SWEEEEEEET!" When I go back and revisit old books, TV shows and movies, I'm always impressed by how much foreshadowing gets packed in and goes unnoticed the first time through...

Goddamn I wish Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was out already. I need to see Watchmen over break, both because it looks delicious and we're reading it in my Lit class later.

Midterms start tomorrow. :/

This is a really neat video - the guy put his video camera on the conveyor belt in a sushi bar, and gets all of these candid shots of the customers. I love that some people realize the camera's there right away, others just keep eating and talking, and that it goes through the kitchen! I think this would make a great little short movie or documentary of some kind.

Been watching Merlin, and for all it's cheesiness and strange reworkings of Arthurian myth (NO ONE HAS BEARDS. THIS IS NOT CAMELOT), IT'S SO ADORABLE. All of the actors are either too cute for words, smokin' hot, or both. And Arthur and Merlin have delicious, unintended UST. You try for ye olde bromance and just end up with gay. I keep wanting to make Monty Python jokes. :v And Santiago Cabrera plays Lancelot!

I wasn't able to finish Prince of Persia before I went back to school, but I'm hoping that I will be able to over spring break.

I hope you all have been having a good 2009 so far!

I've been slowly but surely working my way through the newest Prince of Persia. It's pretty easy (even for me), but damn, do I love annoying Elika by pressing 'T' all the time. I LOVE TALKING TO HER. YUM BACKSTORY AND CHARACTER INTERACTION. The video card on our PC at home is a giant wimp, so I have annoying lag sometimes, but it's usually bearable.

Watchmen came in the mail last week, I finished that a few days ago. Everything about it was absolutely amazing: characters, plot, everything.

Also, some girl who's only seen bits and pieces of the original Star Wars trilogy retells it with deadly accuracy:

Ai no Kusabi is being remade this year. The novel's older than I am, and seeing this still makes me feel old. D: It's being done by the same company that did the two episode version, but they're expanding it to thirteen episodes, and the new character designs look great. Something to look forward to for next fall.

My Literary Study teacher sent the list of books she wants us to buy for next semester, and along with the usual stuff like Walt Whitman and Emily Dickinson, Watchmen was on it. Hopefully, this means that I can see the movie without feeling like an uneducated loser. FIELD TRIP TO THE MOVIES IN MARCH? PLEASE?

I was a little nervous about buying the new Prince of Persia, but it's been getting good reviews, and it's only $30 at Toys R Us! I am so happy this game plays as deliciously as it looks, even if it's reportedly a little easy.

Junjou Romantica is my newest godawful guilty pleasure. Talk about old (fangirl) habits dying hard. :/

Ugh, I've had a bunch of papers due recently, and finals are in two weeks. I can't wait for this semester to be over, go home, put Christmas music on full blast, and watch A Muppet Christmas Carol endlessly. Deceeemmberrrrr.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë (I can't explain how much I love this book. Jane, the Roch, ugh.)
The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers (I lovelovelove her. I only wish there was more.)
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov (Humbert's gorgeous language against his godawful acts...)

YAY FEDERAL CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT! YAY DEMOCRACY! DELICIOUS PRESIDENTS! I love American history (and history in general), and I'm kind of a weirdo who thinks the United States of America is pretty awesome regardless of who's President. But now I need a picture with the giant bust of Barack Obama at President's Park in Williamsburg. I wonder how long it takes for them to make one? Where will they go when there are too many busts? Hmmm. Oh god I'm totally geeking out AMERICAN HISTORY YUM. I am being consumed by the need to learn all of the Presidents in order.

I can't even imagine wanting to run for President. ABC News has some before-and-after pictures of recent Presidents who served two terms. Poor Dubya seems to have aged the worst, but the effects are almost as bad in good old FDR and Wilson (obviously, wars are not helpful in keeping your youthful complexion).

So, hopefully there will be a little lull before the ruckus that will be DECISION 2012 starts up? This election seemed to take ages!

Now these points of data make a beautiful line.

I hope you're all having a great day! I have tons of Wonka candy in my room that I need to get rid of. :D

I also decided to hop on the video game bandwagon shamefully late and finally bought Portal. Just what I need, another time waster. :/ I'm not much of a FPS gamer (typical girl gamer, right? RPGs, action and platformers. In fact, the last FPS I even remember playing was when my dad used to play Doom when I was little!), but I'll try my best.

I've also been playing Atlantica Online, the EXP bonuses have been helping me level like crazy. I even got into a party to beat a boss. 8D

Jack and Sally at Disneyland are adorable! Jack is ridiculously in character, even his voice sounds similar. I seriously hope these two are in Disney World too (there are pictures of them in Disney Paris...?), and still around the Haunted Mansion in December. :D

There are a bunch of pictures here too. I'm seriously impressed by Jack's costume. The rest of the videos from briberry are goofy character moments at Disneyland, I totally recommend just browsing through. The Hatter and Alice are especially funny together.

We haven't been to Disney World since I was four, so I'm totally dorking out about going there this year, especially at Christmas. I am probably about as excited to go this year as I was when I was little, if not more so! I want to take tons of pictures. 8D

Now, no more procrastination! D:

I'm considering pre-ordering the new Prince of Persia game for the PC and praying it plays as beautifully as it looks. I'm totally in love with the art style and graphics. Or maybe I should wait for a review or two? :/

NINTENDO ANNOUNCE THE RELEASE DATE FOR NEXT LAYTON GAME PLEEEEASE. I keep hoping they'll announce Pandora's Box before the end of the year. D:

NBC has the new season three posters, which I love, up for sale, but they're $20 each. I kinda want a Petrelli brothers trio and maybe even a HRG. I probably don't have enough space anyway, I'd have to take down the other Season One cast poster I have. :( Maybe I'll wait and see if they go down in price or if I can find them somewhere else cheaper. I miss the "Vote Nathan Petrelli" stuff they used to have too. If I had a car here at college, I totally would have bought a bumper sticker.

My favorite thing about Halloween is that either Disney or ABC Family plays Hocus Pocus. Best Disney Channel movie EVER.

...Talk about Biblical imagery! I've never seen that poster before, it's pretty snazzy. I love you, House. :D

LittleBigPlanet really makes me wish I had a PS3. D: But they're so gosh darn expensive! And I'd want to get one with a decent amount of memory.

I made an AIM screen name just to talk to my friend who goes to school faaaar away, so we can't chat too often. Monday night is our date night! We discuss/freak out about Heroes.

Some thoughts about "I Am Become Death" (there be spoilers in these here waters):

- Goody two shoes Sylar was DELICIOUS! His son, Noah, was adorable too. I thought Zachary Quinto really pulled off making Gabriel sweet and docile, a nice throwback to the episode when he visited his mom. But the question remains: WHO IS HIS BABY'S MAMA?! I can't even think of anyone who could be a candidate. Claire's his niece (insert "that didn't stop Milo Ventimiglia joke" here), Tracy digs herself some political Petrelli, Maya just seems ridiculous, Daphne apparently hooks up with Matt, etc. Elle? Maybe he adopted him Molly-style? Also, I am super jealous that he got Mr. Muggles.

- I really liked the idea that Sylar's power comes with 'THE HUUUNGER,' as he puts it. So is it the watch, the brain, or both?

- HEY PETER. Killing your BFF and my favorite character IS NOT COOL. However, Nathan seems to have a good track record when it comes to this dying thing. I remain cautiously optimistic. :/

- Mohinder and Maya have been annoying me since the beginning of the season. Maya doesn't do anything but bounce her boobs around and Mohinder whines way too much. Alejandro was so much cooler than either of them.

- ADAM! YES. I wasn't a huge fan of the Ancient Japan storyline, but I loved Adam.

Went to see Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist, and was surprised to learn it was co-written by David Levithan. I really liked his other book, The Realm of Possibility. It seems like I read that such a long time ago! I was also proud of myself for spotting a Go! Team poster. Way to make me feel super cool, movie. It was a sweet movie, my fave character by far was Caroline, drunk friend extraordinaire.

Have to start signing up for next semester classes already. :/ But I'm actually kind of excited to take some art classes! Just Fundamentals of Art & Design and Basic Drawing, but I haven't taken a real art class since...eighth grade? Oh man.

Guess who's avoiding writing a three page paper about Dante as an atypical epic hero? It's me! I remember spending weeks on The Inferno last year, this semester we read a few cantos, now I have to write a paper and then that's it. I guess it's only an intro to Western Literature...

So while I am still angsting about Half-Blood Prince being pushed back (UGH), there are always new photos. BUT! I am very happy to have fall TV back! Heroes on Monday and House on Tuesday is more than I could ever ask for. Everyone is a Petrelli, but it's never lupus.

My mom is a huge fan of Josh Groban (his voice is seriously out of control). I've even seen him in concert with her (ahahah I'm like 70 in my mind). Anyway, he sang at the Emmys last night, and I was particularly impressed with his rendition South Park theme song (I can only imagine that the creators of that show have epic lulz every time they get nominated for an Emmy) and "Movin' On Up" sounded great. Just don't look at his eyes too much...he kinda looks like a Hobbit. :D I love TV theme songs...oh, Fresh Prince.

I'm also thinking about buying A Raisin in the Sun on DVD, because I missed on it ABC earlier this year. Oh, Sean Combs...
