Bio:

Jason Jones was born in the Rellurite Empire, born Prince Dharis Rell, oldest son of King Garrius Rell, one of the four kings and direct line relatives of Emperor Taurin Rell IV. 14 years ago, when the prince was an infant, the Rellurite Empire was at war with the former Empire of the Swarm. The insectoids made an attack on the installation where the prince was being raised, trying to kidnap Rellurite children and take important political hostages. Through loss of many lives, the prince was evacuated. In the process of escape, however, before the escape craft could hit warp, the ship was damaged, and life support failed.
This killed everyone else aboard, but Rellurites are quite capable of surviving in space, and the infant was no different. The pilot managed to get the ship into warp before dying, but failed to set coordinates. The ship emerged near Earth, and crashed not far from Boston, MA. The people who eventually explored the ship, including the invulnerable hero Jack Jones, the Patriot, were surprised to find an unharmed baby on board. He proved almost impossible to run any tests on due to his invulnerable nature and dense flesh, but he did provide the first look humans had at Rellurite physiology. It also led to them trying to figure out what to do with the infant. Eventually, in a matter which has never been clear to anyone not privy to the discussion, Jack Jones either volunteered or was volunteered to become the caretaker - despite his less than stellar history as a father, enstranging his three children before they each died. 'Jason' was taken in and raised by Jack, the only person who could fairly certainly guarantee the child wouldn't pose any danger to anyone.
Despite the history, Jason has grown up very American, and cares a great deal about his 'father', though he's intensely curious about his heritage. As 'Kid Patriot', he wants very much to be a worthy successor - and to prove himself to enough people that they finally let Jack retire in peace.

Powers: All of Jason's powers are derived from his Rellurite physiology. When off of the planet Rell, which the mysterious Wisps exiled them for millennia, Rellurites are among the most physically powerful beings in the universe, individually capable of taking on the starships of most races. Most of their powers are negated when exposed to the radiation of the 'homeworld' to which they were exiled, which was intended as their prison. Exposure to the radiation of even a small piece of the planet Rell will limit them to perhaps 10% of their normal strength, speed, invulnerability and sensory acuity - and Jason is no exception.
Strength: While still not at his full strength, Jason possesses exceptional strength for a teenage Rellurite owing to Jack's training and insistence he work out, while most of his race, already among the most potent anywhere in the galaxy, see little reason to do so. Jason can bench press tens of thousands of tons.
Endurance and durability: Rellurites need very little sleep or rest, sleeping for about four hours once per week. However, during this time they are highly vulnerable, as their higher brain functions shut down entirely, and they literally can't be woken until they have completed their sleep cycle.
Rellurites are highly durable. Ship grade weapons and major superhuman powers can affect them, but few other things can. the average Rellurite is able to engage in close combat with most space ships on roughly even footing.
Speed: Rellurites are superhumanly fast. They have reaction times many times faster than humans, though they fall somewhat short of those of dedicated speedsters such as the Stormrunner. They can run in excess of MACH 10. Under Jack's training, Jason is quicker than most Rellurite teens, but has not reached the full potency of an adult. He can sprint at about MACH 12.
Flight: Rellurites are able to fly under their own power. Their 'cruising speed' is roughly the same as the speed at which they run, but when unencumbered by planetary gravitic fields, they can approach light speed, and even open warp gates to travel interstellar distances quickly.
Environmental Independence: Rellurites can survive in the vacuum of space or the corona of a sun. They do not need to breathe and do not require water or traditional food. They must, however, absorb a quantity of X radiation once per week on the level of being given an x-ray or they will begin to suffer starvation symptoms. Gamma radiation will do if needed, but is akin to a human surviving on bread and water, and will not sustain them forever.
They can eat and drink normal foods, but it does nothing for them - most food just literally incinerates inside them. High doses of sugar, however, can make them suffer double vision, mirage images, and even hallucinations in extreme cases, as can high doses of concentrated caffeine.
Hyper-Senses: Rellurites have much higher sensory acuity in their hearing and sight than most races, possessing 20/2 vision, hearing into the high hyper and subsonic ranges, possessing membranes they can close over their eyes that lets them see into the ultra violet spectrum, and a second that lets them see in variable spectrum x-rays.
Their senses of smell and taste are dull compared to most species, and their sense of touch is greatly muted. When interacting with non-Rellurite materials, it can take some time before they gain enough finesse to not break anything they handle.
Aura: Rellurites are one of the first civilized races. Some lore suggests they are descended directly from some race of gods. If so, they still bear an aura of power and authority - more or less literally radiating power. They can dull this down to appear human, but only while awake and able to put a degree of concentration into it, though minimal. Most Rellurites see little cause, however.
Voice: Rellurites do not breathe, as such, they do not produce sound in the traditional sense. Instead, they have organs which produce energy signatures that transmit different sounds. In addition to their chosen voice, most Rellurites, with practice, can produce or reproduce almost any sound. The majority do not greatly test this ability, using it only to possess booming, commanding voices, and to let them 'speak' in space in a way most species can understand.
Jason loves this ability, primarily for doing impressions of hundreds of different songs he's heard on the radio, including the background music, when he's not trying to hide his abilities.

Weaknesses:
As detailed above, Rellurites are reduced to about 1/10th of their normal speed, strength and durability in the presence of the radiation which emanates from the 'homeworld' the Wisps exiled them to. There is a synthetic version created by the Swarm's highest level scientists and reproduced a few times since that is in wider distribution, but it only cuts their power in half.
Sugar and caffeine in concentrated doses or high amounts can have detrimental effects on Rellurites if consumed. Enough of it can even make them hallucinate.
Their senses of touch, taste and smell are poor compared to most species.
They must sleep for a 4 hour period each week during which their higher brain functions cease, rendering them unable to wake until their sleep cycle is complete. They are entirely non-responsive during this time.
Even with their aura suppressed, Rellurites are intensely noticeable beings. They can move quietly and all with their enhanced reflexes, but it doesn't seem to matter - they just draw the attention. Bringing a Rellurite along on a stealth based mission dooms the mission, pure and simple. Sensors will pick them up, they are remarkably easy to scry upon, and people will just happen to look their way, even if said way is 'up' - and that's with their charismatic aura dampened down.

Skills: Jack Jones has been mentoring Jason his entire life, which means he has largely grown up in the gym. He is trained in boxing and tae kwon do, though he isn't skilled to the level of some specialists - particularly fully adult specialist martial artists. He is relatively capable with his powers, again thanks to Jack.
He is also a savant when it comes to most modern musical pop culture, and some degree of music history.
He has pretty decent knowledge of American law and Civics, drilled into him from an early age.
He speaks fluent French, and pretty good, but accented Japanese and German. He can manage a little with Spanish, but its slow going.
