Marvel Next Gen Application [06 Jan 2010|02:33pm]
NextGen Application (Canon and OC)

Player (nickname, handle)/ LJ: Nicole
Email: DeadlyGambit2 at aol dot com
AIM (if you have one): DeadlyGambit2
Character Name: Alisa "Tinker Belle" LeBeau
Character LJ (if applicable): temperence
Physical description (face, build, weight): Alisa has shoulder length auburn colored hair, pale skin, and red on black eyes. She stands at 5' 6" in height, much shorter than her twin brother. She weighs close to one hundred and five pounds, very thin and malnourished looking. If she took of her shirt, her ribs and spine show from under her skin.
Age: 20
Birthday: April 24th
PB: (If using one.) Kiera Knightly (forthcoming, will be shopped)
Abilities: Genius Intelligence, Almost Innate understanding of technology that allows her to 'tinker' things into working or not working and putting together little inventions.
And her mind, while not impossible to read, is difficult because it registers to a telepath like reading a web page in a foreign language (one you don't know)
Weaknesses and flaws: Alisa does not enjoy fighting and tries to avoid it as much as possible. She's a sexual assault victim and has not dealt with the trauma of it. Like her older brother, she has a tendancy to ration her food. Never eating everything on her plate out of fear of not eating the next day. Because of this, she is extremely thin looking and malnourished.
Character location/Home: New Orleans, Louisiana
Alignment (villain, hero etc): Neutral
Relatives (living/dead?): Enteinne "Ennie" LeBeau (Twin Brother), Birth Parents: Remy LeBeau, Antionette Simms (unknown to her)
Backstory: Like her twin brother, Alisa LeBeau did not have many fond memories of her childhood. In fact, her only early memories were of being told her name, and learning to pan handle on the harsh streets of New Orleans. Eventually, she no longer had to pan handle, since Enteinne had started to take over her work with “Uncle Fagan”. While Enteinne “worked”, she was allowed to go to a public school, where it was discovered she was a very smart girl.

Though a book smart girl, Alisa lacked the street smarts that her brother had. Because of this she paid a horrible price, one that Enteinne never knew of. After Enteinne’s powers manifested and he was hospitalized, “Uncle Fagan” was furious and demanded Alisa somehow make up the difference for the great loss he was taking. When she refused to do the illicit activities that Fagan requested, he threatened to throw her and her brother out on the streets and no longer act as a family figure. He would even cut her schooling.

Even under such duress, Alisa’s pride got the best of her, and she continued to refuse. Frustrated, Fagan went behind her back, and sold her to three clients, more than enough to pay off the debt that Enteinne owed, as well as teach the siblings a lesson on what he perceived to be the real world. When Alisa was on her way back to Fagan’s house from after school, she was “picked up” by the clients, and forced to pay her dues.

The Trauma of the event left her a completely different person. She left her schooling, and spent most of her time visiting Enteinne in the hospital and tinkering with various devices. She shyed away from others and kept to herself. She never figured out what Fagan had done, nor ever asked why he stopped asking for the debt to be paid back. Perhaps it was denial.

Soon after Enteinne returned “home”, Katrina hit, and New Orleans was torn apart. Their home and security had been stripped from them, just like the thousands of other families in the city that were lucky to escape alive. This gave them a second chance at a better life, despite the ruin that was all about them.

Enteinne came up with a scheme to claim to be from a slightly wealthy family, he just needed her help with the legal work. Frightened of having to endure more attacks like the one she suffered before Katrina if they went back to the streets, Alisa agreed to help Enteinne. They soon took on the last name “LeBeau”, and were finally able to live modestly. They even gained access to the most basic of needs that most people would take for granted.

After they were situated, Enteinne encouraged her to go back to school and gain her GED. Even with a new education, home, and access to money, Alisa suffered from horrible nightmares. She never told Enteinne of what happened while he was in the hospital, and blamed her violent nightmares on the events of Katrina.
How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: Living in New Orleans with Enteinne and eventually meeting up with the Champions
What are you planning to do with this character? Bring her into a world that is very different than the one she came from, giving her the chance to thrive, as a young woman should. She will have many challenges ahead of her, and may not over-come everything, but will try her best. Not just for her sake, but for that of the brother who sacrificed so much for her.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: Alisa having to deal with her sexual assault on a healthier level and being able to tell Enteinne about it. Also I would like Alisa to have to deal with real descrimination, since mutants did not have that in her dimension, just a wealth and class system back there. She also must learn to trust people other than her brother, and learn to be more social.

Sample post:
Alisa poked at the food in her plate. The dish was not even half done, and already fear was setting in. This fear developed from her childhood. Despite living with "Uncle Fagan", food was always rationed because of the many children that lived with them. They were lucky enough to even have a plate of food! Sometimes it was just a carrot, or a small biscuit. And even with those meager bits of food, she and Enteinne would just break them apart and eat them over a long period of time.

To an outsider, she appeared to be anorexic. The way she would sit there and toy with her food, struggle to take yet another bite, and just stare at the full plate before her. She could see the waitress who served her meal looking over at her, a stern look of disapproval and disgust as she shook her head at her. Alisa knew this is how she would be precieved, a freak who looked more like a skeleton than a woman. Because of this, she always ate with Enteinne, because she could trust him, and he had never judged her. Not once.
