[003] It's That Time Again...
So...that postcard thing...was...interesting. I've never posed for anything before except when harassed by my sister. I don't think the director was too happy with us when we refused to kiss on the mouth. It was still very embarrassing. Especially when I realized that no one's ever kissed me that much...other than family. ...Which is slightly weird. It was a neat concept, though. ...Even though I'm a bit terrified some cousin of mine will, um, end up with it and recognize me. Which would be...very, very bad. ...Not to mention awkward. But I suppose there is nothing to be done...

Christmas is around the corner already; where did the time go? I've almost finished my shopping, but not quite...some people are a little difficult to buy for. It's kinda neat, though, shopping for friends acquaintances too instead of just family. By the way, thank you again for the barrettes, Sasori; they're very pretty. :)

This is going to be my first Christmas on my own. I'm going to miss my sister terribly. She's a little mad at me, I think, since I can't just fly back there for Christmas and my birthday. ...Even if my birthday is on Sunday and I don't work until 4:30 Monday so I could technically make a flight back...but I can't afford it without Father's assistance.

It's odd; I'm not going to be a teenager anymore. Part of me wonders if there should be more fanfare for that, but part of me thinks it's somewhat fitting that I'll be on my own away from my family. ...It's still going to be lonely.

Is anyone else stuck alone for the holidays? ...I kinda still want to make a turkey, since I usually only get to do that twice a year... Maybe we could do a potluck thing? ...Or I'd be willing to cook stuff if someone else contributed. ...I don't want to be alone after all, I guess.

Ham has always been a traditional meat in my family for Christmas. I will be alone, though I may be going out at some point. You're free to tag along with me, if you don't find anyone else to spend time with, I don't think you'd be very interested in where I go though.

Ham is good as well. It depended on how many people we had over, really. If it was just immediate family, though, one turkey was more than enough meat.

If you wouldn't mind it, I might possibly take you up on it. Though...um, where would you be going?

My family always made so much food you'd think they were trying to feed the entire city. We had left overs for weeks.

Possibly to see christmas lights, play several games of cards with people at casinos. Then later at night, I will be returning to home to watch movies.

Father isn't a fan of leftovers. We still had quite a bit anyway, but I usually made other stuff, like turkey pot pies, out of it. And my sister...has a black hole for a stomach. It usually lasted a week, tops.

Christmas lights displays are usually very pretty. I've never been to a casino before, but I think you have to be 21 to even go near the tables anyway...and I'm just turning 20 on Sunday, so...I guess I couldn't go with you anyway.

What kind of movies do you like?

You may enter if you go with me. You just can't play or drink, but you're welcome to watch. That is why I didn't think you would want to go.

((ooc: Actually, I don't think it is okay. But I'm fine with ignoring that for RP sake. >.>))

I think I'm going to be making food with Lee earlier in the day, but that likely won't take all day... If you're going out to look at lights first, I assume you'll be going in the evening or at night... Actually, I think I'd still find it...kinda fascinating. If you really don't mind, I would like to go...

I was worrying about that as well but I am sure that there is really no chance that anybody we will know ever see them! They would have to purchase a video to even get them, and they are not going to do that, not to mention that should that ever happen, they may not even have your card but one of the many others! I hope you have not been too troubled thinking about it, but please do not worry about it further!

Your birthday is Sunday? Happy Birthday!

It would be sad to be alone on the holiday. I am not going home either but I do not have plans otherwise. I would be more than delighted to see you if you are interested!

I have...a very large extended family. And they'd recognize me because Father's the head of the family. I have a great many cousins, and I won't delude myself into thinking that at least some of them have not acquired products such as those distributed by Feel Good especially the younger, male cousins. My hope is that, even if they do purchase something and happen to get a card, it will not be mine. The chances are very slim that such would come to pass, but they still exist, so I will worry until all the postcards have been distributed and I haven't gotten any awkward calls from my family.

Ah, thank you for the birthday wishes. :)

Maybe we could make a small meal or something. I want my turkey. You still have my contact details, correct? :)

Well, I wish you did not have to worry in that case. I think everything will be okay though!

Of course! I will remember so I can congratulate you on the right day too!

We should do that! I know how to cook! Well, I own a cookbook, but I can definitely make anything if I put enough effort into it. Do you want me to call you? I am also alright with texting or writing e-mail, so whatever way is most convenient will be fine for me.

I know how to cook as well. My place has a really nice kitchen, which was part of why I chose it, and I likely have all the utensils we'll need. And it's always welcome to have someone else in the kitchen with you while you cook - more fun! If you want we can set up a time to get together and make food. :)

I usually prefer texting over talking, but whatever is easiest for you.

Oh? Who else does, if you don't mind me asking?

A lot of my family just combined my birthday in the Christmas celebrations before, so when it's not celebrated on it's own it doesn't bother me much.

Er...do you know what day? Not that I know him well, but... I don't like missing people's birthday's once I know about them.

I wonder who else does? I guess it would make sense for there to be just as many people born around this time as any other time of the year, but you tend to not think about it as much because of the big holidays.

Your sister should understand that you want to be there but can't, even if they seem angry at first.

Oh, she does. We usually the ones who made each other's Christmas fun, though, so...I can understand why she's upset. She's also still in her mid-teens, so...is a little moody regardless, hehe. ;)

She'd probably be just as happy flying out here, but I don't think Father would allow that.

Ah those terrible years every teenager goes through. Understandable. Maybe next year you could put the idea forth to your father for a holiday.

She has her reasons, though. But teenage hormones do not help.

...Perhaps. There's always hope that next year will be different. Even when it never is...

Or you could have the time and leave to go and visit them. Of course, merely suggestions. It is only if you want to.

I guess. Or you can try to find other people to spend them with.

If you would like, I think Lee and I will be making food. You're welcome to join in. I'll be sure to make something more to your tastes if you do, though my place will likely still smell like turkey...
