Family/Relationships

Parents:
Mother: Alexandra Vargas (nee Fisher) – Squib – Alexandra scares Slone. As a Squib, Alexandra always wanted to study magic like the rest of her family but never had the chance. Because of this, Alexandra always places such an importance on her education that it’s hard to talk to her about anything else. And because she knows it means so much to her mom, it stresses her out being torn between being her perfect daughter and being herself.
Father: Abel Vargas – Muggle - Slone loves her father and being the youngest and away often she is spoiled rotten when she does come home. While her father works long hours as a mechanic, he does at least try to see his kids as often as he can.
Siblings: Serena (24), Neil (22), Harmony (21), Reese Vargas (18) - Slone loves her siblings but sometimes she feels like they think she's a freak because she's a witch and none of them are.
Extended Family:
Maternal Grandparents - Camille and Joseph Altman – Slone tries to ignore the fact that her grandparents both tend to favor her over her siblings because of the fact that she is the one that showed magical talent.
Familiar: A cat named Balenciaga after the designer
Sexuality: Bi-Sexual. She doesn’t really think it’s a big deal, boys are cute, and so are girls. It’s that simple to her. She doesn’t try to make a big deal about it. In fact, she thinks life is easier being bi-sexual, she doesn’t have to pick who she likes because of gender, and she can just like someone.
Significant Others: None/TBA

Appearance

PB: Ariana Grande
Detailed Description:
The first thing most people notice about Slone is her unnaturally bright red hair, in fact it’s kind of hard to miss. Slone likes to stand out in a crowd, despite the fact that she’s only 5’3, so you can expect her to be dressed in bright colors. While she does like her jeans, she tends to dress them up with cute shirts and shoes. But while she does like to relax in jeans, Slone has no problem throwing on a skirt or a dress for a date or a party.

Personality

Likes: Bright colors, Sewing, fashion, romantic comedies, makeovers, Viviane Westwood, her friends, projects, Lady Gaga, John Galliano, lollipops, red bulls, pop music, flavored coffee, spicy food.
Dislikes: Liars, sarcasm, not having something to do, horror movies, black coffee, beer (she snuck a sip at a wedding once and hated it), socks with sandals (ew, just ew), sour candy.
Quirks:
+Refuses to use magic to repair/make clothes. According to her they just don’t look as nice without the human quality of hand stitching (even if she does use a sewing machine half the time, but that’s just silly details).
+Always has her nails painted a random color because she bites them if she doesn’t.
+Hates her natural hair color and insists on keeping it charmed.
Secrets:
+ Slone is terrified of her mother and often lies about things to her so she doesn’t disappoint her.
+ Slone has a stuffed tiger named Hobbes that she has slept with since she was little and still sleeps with when she’s feeling sad.
+Sometimes takes energy pills to stay up later to she has more time to be productive/finish things.
+Slone would give anything to be a famous designer, however she knows that idea would break her mother’s heart.
+ Cried like a baby when Alexander McQueen died.
What’s in your characters pockets? Her wand, spare change, and a iphone.
Strengths: Mending and sewing clothes, loyal to friends, energetic, optimistic
Weaknesses: Anything remotely domestic, any form of gardening (she has it in her head that just touch it, kills it at this point), never looks at the big picture, pushover
Strongest subject in school: Charms
Weakest subject in school: Herbology with Latin being a close second
One thing he/she can't live without: Her sketchpad. She loves to doodle clothing designs and her sketchpad is filled with hundreds of them.

Detailed personality:
Slone is the type of person that always has a smile on her face. There isn’t much in the world that fazes Slone. Slone is the type of person that jumps into most things with an optimistic approach and gives everything her best effort. Because of her optimism she detests sadness and tends to try to keep everybody smiling, even if you’re her worst enemy she will most likely at least try a little to get a smile if she knows their upset. Slone is the type of person that you can rant to for hours and hours on end and she’ll just sit there, nodding her head, hanging on every word and then will most likely try to give some form of advice at the end. Granted when it comes to advice, it can either be the greatest advice ever or it will be the worst idea ever, but she is always fully convinced that everything she says is perfect and will make everything work out.

The only thing that really ever seems to break Slone down is her studies. Slone detests studying but she does a lot of it because she is fully convinced that if she even gets an average grade her mother will skin her alive. Sure her mother laughed when she said if she doesn’t do at least above average on all of her exams then she’ll be disowned, but Slone knows that if anyone would be serious about something like that it would be her mother and Slone would rather not find out the hard way if her mother was joking. So, Slone puts a lot of effort into her work, sometimes pulling all nighters to make sure her work is up to par and often using excessive energy drinks and energy pills to do so She believes that as long as she’s using the pills for a good reason like studying, then it’s okay. Sure her grades aren’t perfect A’s, and her mom may still be nagging her because of that, but at least her mom hasn’t killed her yet. So she figures as long as she keeps it up she’s good to go.

For the most part, Slone is ridiculously loyal to her friends. Coming from a big family, Slone tends to treat her friends at school like her substitute family and will kick anyone’s ass that tries to hurt the people she cares about. Okay, so she’s won’t kick anyone’s ass, mostly because she would end up broken in half and is more likely to end up hurting herself rather than someone else, but she will pout and scream until she gets her point across. While Slone tends to follow most of the rules, at least the major ones like curfew not the ones like passing notes because that’s harmless, she will follow her friends to hell and back, even if that involves breaking a few rules around the way. Slone loves her friends to death and tends to be a pushover when it comes to them. Slone is more than willing to bend over backwards to keep her friends happy.

Personal History:
Alexandra Fisher left for New York with all intentions of starting her life new as a muggle, instead of just being a squib in a wizarding family. Her parents weren’t fond of the idea, but once Alexandra had her mind set on something there was no stopping her. Once in New York, she got a job as a hairdresser at a small salon. The owner loved her so much that she decided to introduce her to her son, Abel Vargas, a local cook at a small restaurant. The two met and after a few years of dating were married in a small ceremony. Alexandra figured it was best not to mention her wizarding heritage; after all, it wasn’t like she was connected too much to the world, other than contact with her parents and a few old friends. And anyway, she had a new family and a new life; she would deal with the information if something came up.

The Vargas family was already quite full by the time Slone came along, Alexandra and Abel already having four children before her. Slone was the youngest and often felt she had to compete for attention with her siblings, which made her loud and very needy for approval of her parents. When it came to having four other siblings it was sometimes felt that she got lost in the crowd. So when she was three Slone started to demand she pick out her own outfits, wanted to be her own, individual self. Of course she couldn’t match to save her life so she’d usually come out with a hot pink tank top with a navy blue skirt and not think anything of it. Of course later Slone started to pay more and more attention to the people around her and started to learn from her mother how to make her own clothes.

However, it wasn’t until she was in the fourth grade that things started changing for Slone. She and her sisters were doing to some shopping when Slone found a tub on bright red manic panic and fell in love with the color. Being a kid and always wanting something, she pleaded with her mom when she got home to buy her the hair color, being sure to point out how cool she would look and that it’d be easier for her mom to find her in a crowd. Her mother, being of the sane variety, told Slone that she was in fourth grade and would have to wait till at least junior high to start coloring her hair. Of course Slone did not agree with this one bit and informing her mother that she would find another way to color her hair. Of course as soon as the words were out of her mouth her mom gasped and Slone turned to see her hair was bright red in the reflection of the window. Being the normal kind of kid, Slone instantly ran over and ran her fingers through her hair before turning to her mom and saying ‘ha, told you I would do it’.

It was at that time her mom finally came clean to the family about being from a wizarding family. She by the time she had gone through four other kids, she figured they were all going to be normal, but clearly that wasn’t the case. Her mom informed her that while she did come from such a family, she herself did not have any magical abilities and had decided to live a normal life as a muggle, which explained why her grandparents often scoffed at how they were living. Needless to say when her grandparents found out, Slone was suddenly of interest to them, inviting her out to show her what the wizarding world could offer her, not that she needed much convincing.

When it came time to start CCI both her mom and grandparents were very excited. For her mom, it was the school that she was supposed to attend and was now was planning on attending vicariously through her daughter. Before Slone left for school her mom sat her down and told her how important school was and how even though academics were important at any school, it was even more important at CCI because this was her future. Needless to say, Slone was more than a little afraid at how serious her mom made it sound. When Slone arrived she had been terrified, but after a few weeks of seeing that, yes, she did actually have to study, but there was also a lot of fun people and fun things to do that she began to relax and actually enjoy herself.

When Slone started upper academy she was sorted Rienzi, which pleased her very much. Now in her upper years at CCI, Slone has finally found her fit in the school. Though sometimes she wishes her siblings didn’t look at her weird and her mom didn’t place as much pressure on her and she could just spend her day sketching outfits like she would if she hadn’t been born a witch. Of course now she uses her fashion design skills in the Drama club.

“Balenciaga!” Slone cried as she jogged through the courtyard. Slone loved her cat, she really did, at least when she knew where he was. Unfortunately, this was not one of those times. At this point Slone was pretty sure Balenciaga had learned enough words to know that when she said ‘Balenciaga and groomers’ in the same sentence, he knew to hide as far away as he could unless he wanted to be clipped and painted, at least his nails, until Slone was satisfied that he was to her perfection. Of course this meant that Slone was getting very frustrated with her cat. She had made an appointment for that afternoon and if she missed it, it might be a while until she could find time to take him in the next few weeks. It was times like this when she cursed having a smart cat and wished he was more of the fat and lazy kind that liked to just sit in the sun and eat.

Looking in a bush, Slone realized she probably looked pretty silly, not that it was the first time she looked silly. Looking around the courtyard, there really wasn’t too many hiding places but Slone was really hoping the cat was around here somewhere because she really didn’t want to look around the whole campus for him. She already had to stuff him in a carrier when she found him, and that was going to take a good hour and a good collection of scratches on her arm. If Slone didn’t think that after all the roaming around he did that he needed a good bath and clipping she would have loved to just let him be jungle cat and have never have to take him anywhere but home over the break. But it was his fault for liking the mud so much.

With a sigh, Slone climbed up on a bench. “Excuse me, has anyone seen the cutest white and orange cat today?” Slone asked, figuring that if nobody saw him she would just head back to her room and hoped he had returned, even though she highly doubt he did. The damn cat was too smart for his own good.
