Detailed Description: If you went back to the 50s, boys like Charlie would be everywhere. He reads like the beginning of a trashy teen novel, wearing lather jackets and his shades all day. He stands at 5'11 with a very slim but toned figure. He is rarely seen without a cigarette in his mouth. His coppery hair is often sticking up in mad directions, a combination of not washing and constantly playing with it. His dark eyes are usually brooding, but if you manage to make him smile, it can be infectious. Charlie doesn't buy clothes, all hsi money is spent on his car. Instead he wears hand-me downs, trades and anything that Adam left behind after he went into the army. He has a distinct smell, smelling earthy with a hint of pot. Charlie looks old for ages, finding it easy to pass as a twenty-something and buy alcohol for those students in need. For a small profit, of course.

Personality
Likes: Boobs, butts and legs, sweet looking girls, Elvis, stoner rock, pot, making money, his car
Dislikes: Anyone touching his car, girls who wear too much make-up, being a wizard, the fact that Elvis got fat.
Quirks: - Hates being alone. He's shared a room his entire life with Adam and always likes to have someone around to talk to.
- If your a student looking for something illegal, magical or muggle, chances are Charlie can get it for you, no questions asked.
- Can recite every word to A Streetcar Named Desire.
Secrets: - Charlie secretly hates being a wizard as it's alienated him and his sister from their family
- Has to wear glasses but would never be seen dead in them. He might not be glaring at you, just trying to figure out who you are from far away.
- If an animal dies in a film it makes him cry.
What’s in your characters pockets? More pot that you care to imagine, a fake ID, cigarette papers, tobacco, a wad of money, car keys (at all times) and his wand.
Strengths: - Great with dogs
- Loyal to his friends, he'll take or throw a punch for you
- Amazing at Poker.
Weaknesses: - His fear of leeches means he wont get into any body of water that isn't crystal clear to the bottom.
- Finds it hard to articulate his feelings
- Gets obsessed with his crushes very easily
- Very dependant on his friends, needs a lot of emotional reassurance.
Strongest subject in school: Defense Against the Dark Arts
Weakest subject in school: Latin
One thing he/she can't live without: His world, his everything, his car.

Detailed personality:
Though generally a good kid, Charlie has always had a knack for being in the middle of trouble whether he means to or not.  He's led by his heart (which he can't help but wear on his sleeve) and a sucker for sticking by his friends no matter what situations they get into. He's always been more of a leader than a follower, even as a child he was the one telling everyone what games they should be playing during recess. He's one of those annoying people who never studies for a test but will pass anyway, which has resulted in a 'I don't care' attitude  Charlie isn't a "jock" kind of guy, he's not afraid to show his emotions, but he does have a hard time conveying how he is feeling.  Charlie doesn't shy away from a fight if it's to do with his friends, but he's generally a lover, not a fighter when it comes to himself.

People usually can't help but like Charlie, he's the guy at the party who's trying to discuss the meaning of life with you over a joint. His likability has helped him build up a network of people who can supply him with anything he needs, meaning he has a bit of a reputation for to 'go to guy' if you have a problem.

Personal History:
Charlie was born in San Francisco to Charles and Christina, the second son of the couple, who already had Adam. The familiy didn't have much money, and even though they lived in a beat-up neighbourhood they still loved it. It may have been unsightly and rough around the edges, but it had a sense of community. Charles Snr was a proud ex army seargent, and a bit of an entrepreneur, always setting up his own businesses and such. It was a trait he passed down to Charlie, whos first business venture at the tender age of 7 was growing flowers out of his Dad's car when he was away with business and selling them to ladies down the street. Rather than being angry, Charles Snr was proud of his boy. Charlie's childhood was happy, his favourite treat being going down to the greyhound races with his dad and Adam. He loves the dogs and the excitement and the thrill when his dad won any money, and a life long love of greyhound dogs was nurtured at the track.

Charles always promised Charlie a greyhound of his own, instead he got a baby sister, who he loved just as much. Charlie relished being the protector of his sister, who was only a couple of years younger than him. Around the neighbourhood Charlie made friends with the other local kids, they were a tightknit group of boys and Charlie somehow always ended up deciding what they should do, or settling a fight. Some of his best memories are of going to the overpass and spitting off it onto the speeding trucks below.

Charlie idolised Adam, they both shared a room and were close. Adam always let Charlie tag along with him if the big kids were going out, not caring that he had to look after his little brother. They always shared the dream of becoming good army men, like their dad and talked passionately about how good it would be when they were both enrolled. However, this dream came to abrupt end when a letter arrived explaining that actually, Charlie was a wizard. Adam was jealous, and told Charlie there was no way they'd let him into the army now.  Suddenly all of his plans were gone.  Charlie was terrified he was going to end up just another burnout like the rest of the kids around him, leaving his family and friends with resentment to join Salem.

Charlie was jealous of the other kids around him. He knew there must be others like him, who didn't even know this world existed, but everyone he talked to knew so much more. For once Charlie was a small fish in a big pond, and the only thing that kept him going was his determination to conquer this strange, new way of life.  As with at home, Charlie attatched himself to a group of boys, working his way up to leader again. Once he had reached upper academy, Charlie was pretty popular, and he started to flourish. He'd made a name for himself as a bit of a rebel, not trying hard in class, taking up smoking and then later, smoking pot and having a string of girlfriends. His acceptable grades helped him pass under the radar of teachers. He's spent more time tinkering with his prized posession which is parked in the parking lot than on any real studying.

Visits home became strained, as his dad didn't know how to talk to Charlie anymore, it was much easier to praise Adam, his son in the army who was fighting for his country, than his son who was half the world away doing stuff with "newts tails and whatever". It didn't help that his only daughter had also been sent off to Salem, though Charlie was glad to have some solidarity within the famility.

Charlie's happy-go-lucky lifestyle is fast running out, though. Teachers ask him what he wants to do when he leaves Salem, and he's realising that having no purpose in life is kind of a drag. Dealing with these feelings, especially the resentment towards the wizarding world is getting harder to control the closer he gets to leaving Salem. In some ways, he's actually sorry to be seeing it going.
