On The Subject Of Tips Related to 12 kicker subwoofers For the Drives [09 Jan 2012|10:30am]
What amp work best to power 2 12 inch kicker compvt 2ohm subwoofers ?

well each 12cvt is 400 watts rms when you need to follow kicker i'd go along with a 2 channel amp. if you wish to choose a 1 channel mono amp you'll need a 1ohm stable amp. i would select a zx550.2 not less than. you can get a new one for $240 on ebay. i had 2 4ohm cvt wired to 2 ohms that has a zx400.1 they usually pounded. we were holding a little under powered but they also pounded. can be earning !, kicker under rates their stuff so a zx550.2 is a bit more like 600 watts and up.Maybe stay with Kicker ? They've created some solid amps for not lots of money.. a couple of these amps would hammer those CVT's HARD !

I have a question about Kicker subwoofers? So I blew my L5 15 i employ a kicker 750.1 amp. I was wondering what might be louder? a L7 15 (1000 rms) or DCVR 12s (2) - (800rms) inside a 528i BMW.Was half way the correct setting for the gain? Was the ported box tuned properly? These factors could make or break a system.High wattage is not to mean loudness. You also could consider looking with the sensitivity (dB or SPL[Sound pressure Level]) with the sub.Sub B would in reality be louder than sub A as the sensitvity is higher however the power handling of sub A is higher. This is one way that operates. The sensitivity of any sub will be the SPL output the sub could have with 1 watt of power at 1 meter. For each doubling of power, you have a 3 dB gain in volume or SPL.

Even at 1000 watts on Sub A, Sub B still pushes more dB with only 500 watts. This can be only a case in point and will not indicate actual dB output simply because this is dependent upon many factors such as enclosure used, cabin gain, etc.By using a sensitivity of 97 dB and 400 watts RMS power handling, it'll push a great deal more dB than either of such kickers and in some cases with less power. This also means the amp needed to push two of them will surely cost less too......only $140 for just one sub.The goal of the gain is always to match the signal volts RMS coming from the source (Cd player, etc.) towards the input of the amp for correct power matching and also to minmize clipping. You will need a multi-meter (AC voltmeter, $15 from Radio$hack), Microsoft Excel and a approach to burn an audio Cd from an MP3 (test tone included).First you should understand why it blew. You most likely have your gain too much. The gain is NOT A VOLUME KNOB! It has to be set correctly.

Utilize the L7, the way it handles more power and definitely will give you a little breathing room when you probably like to push subs thus to their limits. The zx750.1 probably puts out over 800 watts actually, therefore you could well be running the CVR's even their limit, so the L7 is a better choice.Ok well, how do you know midway is correct?

2-12's, they have more overall floor, bass will be the displacement of air, you possibly can exercise air with increased surface, see where I want with this? Anyway you can find different factors, but just by going on anything you gave us... Also I am not a fan of Kicker, I've noticed they've REALLY bad cones... Can you be running the 12's on their limit, they're rated to address 800 watts RMS, if they don't call the manufacturer, new drivers available for you... See when choosing a sub/amp combo you need to match the RMS of each of the as evenly as possible For the proper ohm... The person above me clearly doesn't have any idea what they are dealing with, BECAUSE you can exceed the total RMS from the drivers by 15% SAFELY, WITHOUT ruining your drivers... It's not the optimal way to set the gain, Although the higher the volts you operate on the amp the bigger RMS output it typically has, are you experiencing higher voltage alt? That's not too likely but worth an effort to examine...

What 2 12in shallow mount subwoofers what's become hooked up to a kicker zx750.1 amp inside my truck?

In the event you send too much capability your sub, you risk damaging it. The cone from the speaker as well as the mechanical parts which make it move may break under the stress. Surprisingly, not enough power may also damage your subwoofer ?a actually, it's actually more usual than damage brought on by overpowering.
In the event the volume is appeared as well as the amp doesn't always have enough power, the signal becomes distorted, or clipped. This distorted signal may cause areas of the speaker to overheat, warp and melt. You don't have to match speaker and amp wattages exactly. An amp using a higher output versus speaker's rating won't necessarily damage the speaker ?a just turn the amp down slightly in case you hear distortion from the sub , nor run the speaker at extremely loud volumes for lengthy periods. Likewise, you'll end up OK with a cheaper powered amp in case you maintain your volume down and don't feed a distorted signal towards sub.you'll send the amp into clipping.Clipping occurs when an amplifier is asked to offer more current to some speaker compared to the amp are capable of doing. When an amplifier clips, it literally cuts off the tops and bottoms of your musical waveforms it is wanting to reproduce, thus the expression. This introduces a huge amount of distortion on the output signal. Clipping might be heard as being a crunching sound on musical peaks.that causes distorted sound that will damage your subs as time passes

to maximize clean signal strength through your amp, you should adjust the gain or input sensitivity settings. Here's how:
Set the input sensitivity controls within your amplifier on their minimum level (counter clockwise).Convey a Cd and turn the receiver's volume control up (you might have to raise the amp's gain slightly to hear the tunes).Whenever you hear distortion, stop. Turn the quantity down until it disappears. The maximum amount of signal as they can is passing from your receiver for the amp. This maximizes the signal-to-noise ratio, and instead gives off one's body less prone to engine noise problems. Maintain the volume setting here. Now turn the gain controls around the amplifier until it's as loud as you'll play it. When you hear distortion, slightly decrease the gain settings. Now you've optimized the amp's output with the receiver's volume set near maximum. You can turn the degree virtually all how up rather than damage your speakers or amplify distortion. Should you be hooking up a subwoofer, a test disc (or bass-heavy Cd) is for making final adjustments.stay clear of any boss SM subs. there're good subs nevertheless the sensitivity rating is bs. they're like a block of concrete for an amp. the pioneer shallow mount subs got great reviews.

Why not consider some kicker subwoofers? Now, i get a nice amplifier putting out 1200 watts RMS. True power. Im taking a look at just 1 kicker round subwoofer, such as 800 watts max, and 400 RMS, at 4 ohms. You feel this can thump pretty damn good?My other choice, since its a little cheaper and possesses a 1200 watts max at 400 rms, will be the Kenwood subwoofer. This looks nice at the same time. Decide for me please. and explain your selection. Dont pull in any other subwoofer brands into this. I've had an alpine before, didnt as it.when your amp is putting out 1200 rms then youll blow them both personally, i dont like kenwood they generate good amps though go square using a kicker L7.thanks im glad i can help ive had alot of experience with car audio and kicker is probably the best i really have 3 15 L7s within my car my box appeared to do spl competitions i still need good sq however i were required to get yourself a 800w 4ch amp 4 treble

Personally i would strongly recommand a Rockfor P2 double voice coil 12 sub.You cant fail because of this sub if your into SP.Your existing amp is sufficent to push the P2.For more humph, buy your P2 installed in a NON portted box.lol ok alpine is a wonderful brand but ok . From discount kicker subwoofers
