final fantasy dissidia (heroes and villains) || "keep holding on" and "the enemy"
Yes, it's me again. I did something a little different and did two sets that kinda work together in a way so enjoy!

XD With most of them, I do too. Text is not my strong point, never has been. :P

Well I personally prefer simpler fonts so that's the main reason I don't think I'm as attracted to the ones with the text.

I understand that. I try to use simpler fonts but I tend to like the flasher fonts because, sized up, they're easier to read~

Yeah, that's 'cause they're designed specifically to be used on posters and such. XD But they don't size down well, so I tend to avoid them on icons. I'll use them all over layouts and banners, though.

I'm noticed that~ I need to find better text that looks good small. I used to use that pixel text all the time but I wanna stray away from that. So, I tend to stick with Garamond and Georgia~

Gerogia is one of my favorites. You should try Tahoma, Helvetica Neue (Arial looks similar to it), Adobe Caslon Pro, Arial Narrow, Arial Black, Century Gothic... and that's all I can think of at the moment. Century Gothic is a favorite of mine to use in all caps. If you don't have these I can try to send them to you, because I know Helvetica Neue costs $700 if you want to buy it from linotype. XD /typophile

I've heard about Helvetica Neue - a lot of people seem to like it but fuck me if I'm paying for a font. XD I have most of the ones you mentioned save for Helvetica Neue and Adobe Caslon Pro. If you wanna try to send them and if it's not too much trouble, it'd be awesome and I'd appreciate it. :3

Yeah, I lucked out and someone else sent it to me from their computer.

Here's a file with those two and Casque. Helvetica Neue is in a different font file type than TT or OTF so I don't know if it'll work for you but it worked on my computer... just try to install them.

Oh and Casque. It's the one I used here. I rather like it for small text that needs to look sort of fancy.

Never heard of that one either. :o

Oh and one more tip! When making icons, make sure when you resize the image to 100 x 100 that you change/edit the DPI to 72 for best font results. :) Anything higher than 72DPI is only necessary if you plan on printing the image out.

I've never changed/edited DPI so I have nooooo idea how to do that. XD

It's in the same dialogue for resize.

I found it. Not to be a pain in the ass but what does that do, exactly~?

1. It makes the file size smaller when you save, I believe I've never really checked. 2. Makes the font look better because it'll be the ideal size for the image. That way 8pts is always 8pts.

Makes sense enough to me. :3 I'll try that tomorrow when I work on icontest entries. Thanks, bb. :]

[info]kiokushitaka is correct. It's also in a book for Photoshop 7 that I own.
