Clark was flabbergasted by Huntress' reply, as she pushed her way free from his grasp. He intensified his concentration, surreptitiously applying every ability he had to assess her behavior. Body temperature, heartrate, tone and timber of her voice- every test he could attempt came up with the same conclusion- "She's telling the truth" he said with an air of discomfort "or at least she believes she is".
Superman raised his hands slowly, in a gesture he hoped was diplomatic. "Helena just be objective here for a second, alright? You disappear and the next thing we hear, you're about to be married to one of our long-time enemies- a murdering, tyrannical despot. How do you- either of you- expect us to react?" Superman asked.
