Who: Severus and Peter
Where: The Library
When: This Evening before Dinner

Severus found himself once again in the library cozy in his secluded area. All around him he could hear his fellow students looking for the books they needed for class. He could also hear their hushed whispers, a few were filled with anxiety and worry. Severus smiled to himself at this since it was evident that these students were ill prepared for their courses. Many would think at the way Severus was furiously scribbling on the parchment in front of him that he too was in the same book, they'd be wrong. The notes in front of Severus had nothing to do with any classes and more to do with ideas for spells and potions. Raising his hands above his head Severus stretched his tired muscles.

The spell he was currently working on was a lot more difficult than he expected. He was inspired by the silencing spell to create something that would block the hearing of those within a particular area. At first he thought if he simple broke down the silencing spell and replaced particular aspects with his desired outcome it would work. Of course it looked good on paper but it still wasn't effective. His first tests had shown that the spell amplified sounds around a particular area... although handy... not what he was looking for. Severus pulled out his pocket watch and realized that it was close to dinner so he needed to hurry.

Who: Lucius and Narcissa
Where: Outside the great hall
When: seven pm tonight

Lucius hated waiting, really. He didn't know why he told Narcissa to come at a certain time because somewhere deep down he knew she would arrive late just to make him upset. He did not like that, not one bit. He sighed and looked at his watch again. 7:05. He leaned against a pillar and slid down to the floor, pinching the bridge of his nose.

What if she didn't show up? She'd said she would, but what if she didn't? What if Narcissa wanted to play some cruel trick on him to get revenge for him being such a jerk? What if she didn't show up and he stayed here the rest of the night, waitinf for her? Merlin. He really did like her.

Who: Glenda Chittock and friends. Or whomever.
Where: Hogwarts grounds

There was something missing.

Glenda felt a nagging sense of absence, a sort of pressure not unlike a pulled tooth; more annoying than the prickling sensation, however, was that she couldn't figure out what was the culprit.

It was definitely a question that required pondering, and thus Glenda was taking time away from what was surely a fascinating McGonagall lecture to speculate.

She figured it out just as McGonagall got to the part on whiskers.

"Sunlight!"

Having the weather the full brunt of the McGonagall Glare was, she felt, worth it.

Lunchtime found her outside, weathering the full brunt of the actual weather; though it was grey, dreary, and completely soggy, there was something exhilarating about leaving the stone walls for the Hogwarts grounds.

Even if it meant, she realized with a frown, that she couldn't re-read that Charms chapter before class.

That's Mine! by Millicent O'Dare. She wasn't enjoying it much, but it kept her occupied when she needed to think over a particularly difficult piece of work. This time she was slightly stuck on identifying a series of ingredients in a potion that Slughorn had given them for homework.

WHO: Severus and Everyone Who Wants to Join Him
WHERE: Library
WHEN: This Evening

Severus ran through the entrance of the Library and waved at an annoyed Librarian Pince. When she noticed it was him she gave him a small smile. The old Librarian seemed to take to Severus, calling him and the typical slytherin took advantage that fact.

"Hello Madame." Severus said with a small bow and continued past her to the section of the library that held the books on potions. He browsed the titles and found exactly what he was looking for, a small book on poisons and antidotes that usually went unnoticed by many. Severus figured it was do to its small size but like him nothing should be judged on size alone. Pulling the book from the shelf he made his way toward his favorite spot near the windows.

WHO narcissa black and lucius malfoy.
WHERE slytherin common room.
WHEN after this.

Narcissa was done with it all. She was just. Done. It was so ridiculous what he was doing to her, and she was DONE with it all. He had to stop being a jerk. He had to stop leaving her hanging, just when she was about to ask an important question. It wasn't like it was even important to her -- she was just interested and found herself so caught up in his conversations that she just wanted to keep asking him things, and he found it boring.

But she didn't want to deal with it anymore. So she was going to find everything out and then leave him forever because he was obviously rather bad for her.

So she banged on the dungeon wall to the Slytherin Common Room because she knew it was there somewhere. She had been there several times before, and this was the exact spot where it was supposed to open, so she knew that he could hear her. Even if some other student had to open the door for her, Narcissa would find him.

To be honest, she didn't really care about the charms homework. It was always just quite refreshing to see her friend Cillian and actually be able to talk to a Hufflepuff that wasn't incapable of being socially awkward. And maybe Cillian was a little anti-social, but not that stupid, happy, frou-frou kind that the other Hufflepuffs often were. It intrigued her, really.

Spitting out the password to the portrait, Cissa stepped into the common room, looking around expectantly for her friend. When she spotted him, she sighed and mused, "I thought you were supposed to be playing with your mum's wands or something."

WHO narcissa black and lucius malfoy.
WHEN sunday afternoon.
WHERE the library.

Lucius sat, oddly enough, in an incredibly comfortable armchair in the library. Usually, Lucius wasn't one for sitting or being in the library, but seeing as both of his cronies were sick today, well, he couldn't find anything better to do, really. Besides, he liked reading. Sometimes. He sighed and turned another page in his books, shifting his legs to the top of the table so he could rest his feet on them.

Narcissa was ready to go read her book for a few hours. She didn't often get to read alone, but when she got the chance, she tended to revel in it. She picked the same squishy armchair every time, in a private, secluded spot where she knew no one would find her -- or worse yet, judge her. It was the simple places like this that made Narcissa's day just a little more bearable. She felt like when she read alone, no one could judge her. So she took her battered copy of Le Petit Prince with her to find her small chair, this time supposing that she should learn the stanzas in French, for she had already memorized them all in English. But someone was in her chair already, and she stopped to glare at whoever it was. His book was covering his face, as well as his feet, so she simply spat out grumpily, "You're in my seat. Get out."

Lucius raised his eyebrow from behind the book, and then set the book down, simply peering at Narcissa.
"Narcissa," he said slowly, her name rolling out of his mouth like it was the only name that was ever meant to. He pressed his fingertips together. "That's an incredibly rude thing to say."

She flinched when she noticed who it was, but Narcissa wasn't going to let it stop her. Lucius did not scare her, she claimed, as he did the other students. She felt an awful sensation in her lungs when he said her name, though she answered him just as languidly. "Lucius," she greeted. "Since when do you care?"

"Since I'm the one your frustration is being directed towards," He answered her with a tilt of his head. "I'll get up, but you have to give me something, darling."

Narcissa wrinkled her nose as if she had smelled something rather disgusting. "I'm not your darling. What do you want?"

Lucius smiled quietly, clasping his hands together. "Well, I don't know. What can you give me, Narcissa?"

She made a disgusted little noise in the back of her throat. "Stop playing this stupid little game and just tell me what you want, Lucius."

Lucius shrugged. "I don't think you can give me anything I want. Therefore, you don't get your chair. Find another place, Narcissa. I was here first."

She narrowed her eyes. "This is my chair, Lucius."

"No, Narcissa," he said with a considerable amount of malice in his voice. "This chair does not belong to you. You did not buy it and bring it to school. It is for everyone, and I happen to be sitting in it, presently. Deal with it."

"I have been sitting in that chair for all the five years that I have been here, Lucius," she said, trying to stay calm. "And I haven't sat anywhere else in this library in my five years here. I have clearly broken in this chair, and you clearly have never sat here before. So obviously, I was here much before you were."

"That doesn't make the chair yours, Narcissa," he argued. He was beginning to like this. She was certainly entertaining him. "Today, I am here before you are. The past doesn't matter."

She crossed her arms stubbornly. "I will sit in that chair, Lucius, even if I have to sit on you in order to get it."

Lucius wasn't totally opposed to that idea. "You'll have to do better than that, love. I might just like that. You wouldn't want that, would you?"

Well, maybe she would. But she wouldn't say it aloud. "You would not," she hissed. "I'll bite you if you don't get up. And not in a very nice way."

Lucius actually laughed out loud at that. What a ridiculous thing to say. Narcissa certainly seemed to have more spunk than...any other girl he'd met, really. "That's completely unladylike. I'd have to tell your mother, you know."

She narrowed her eyes. "You wouldn't dare. Besides, she wouldn't believe you. Especially since I act like a lady."

Lucius' eyebrow raised again. "I wouldn't dare? You should try me, Narcissa. You'll find that I dare do a lot of things. Your mother would believe me because she's just like everyone else who believes what I tell them."

She raised an eyebrow. "My mother would believe me because everyone believes what I tell them. At the very least, in my family. I do have some power."
