Re: In the Study
"You are strong enough to lead, Marrina. I have faith in you. Your mother had many of the same fears when she and I married. She was afraid the people would not accept her and for a time, there was resistance, but she won them over with her courage, her heart and her determination. I have no doubt that you can do the same." Namor tells his eldest daughter.
It made Namor proud to see them all support and defend each other. Atlantis would be in good hands when his day was done. He was certain of it.
"No, it should not, Kassia, but even I must admit that Atlantis does have parallels to the surface world. Our family is more powerful than any blue-skinned Atlantean. We can breathe air and water without aid where they cannot.
They fear us because we represent change and evolution among our people. And unless certain...concessions are made, more people like Draconia and Vishni will be able to win over the hearts and minds of those who are not certain in their loyalty." Namor intones, looking at his family members.
"To that end, we must discuss what the future holds for our house. Mason Jeffries has won the right to be Marrina's consort. I would prefer not to sit through another two rounds of the insanity that we recently saw, so I must ask you, MacKenzie and Kassia: Are either of you in love with a surface-worlder that I should be aware of?" he asks.
