So there I was, sitting on the couch, staring off into space, and I thought to myself: Betta, how can we procrastinate better? How can we experience the world without having to learn French and leave our house? How can we further monopolize other people's time? And I pondered this for a while and was like. DUH MAKE MORE CHARACTERS!

And since I have a penchant for making male characters, and there are several lovely ladies on this side of the web that are unattached, I was like hey hey hey! Why don't I make some chars for MR and enjoy the unattached ladies?

So we're starting with two with more on the way. Ahem, COUGH!

There was only supposed to be one, but Betta is an enabler and then there was a character and.. I BLAME HER LOL.

Anyway, this one here is Sunday "Sunny" Reed. Sunny is brand spanking new to Chicago. She used to live in a really small town in Texas, but her dad got a new job a couple of months ago. She and her sister stayed in Texas with her (pregnant) mom until the school year was over so that she could finish middle school with her friends and then they joined her dad in Chicago. Her dad works with Libby's dad, so she and Libby have been introduced. Which means she has met Ollie and possibly any other mutual friends they might have introduced her to. Or she will soon. The recent grads probably don't know her, though, unless Libby drags her to a party where they are in attendance. She's really innocent and naive and sweet and you should throw your characters at her and give her some more friends!

My other new kid is Tallulah "Tallie" Roberts who is the little sister to Josh and Leslie Roberts. She's also an incoming freshman. She's an artist, she's really laid-back. She tends to hang out with other artists, loners, stoners, etc. She's been smoking pot since she was 12, but she hasn't tried anything harder. She's really into art and kind of apathetic about everything else. She likes to have fun and party and all of that, but she's definitely not the popular, cheerleadery type Leslie is. Her journal is unfazed and you can read her app there if you're so inclined! Give her some plots, please!

As you may have noticed, it is now May in-game here at Mouse Race and that means prom is right around the corner - on the 30th, to be exact. That means your characters should be lining up who'll they'll be taking, taking about the theme, shopping for dresses, wondering who will take whom, etc. Feel free to update accordingly!

To make sure everyone is on the same page and keep everything organized, we're putting up this little OOC post to sort out who is asking whom to the prom. Only juniors and seniors will be able to attend unless they are they date of someone in a lower class.

In the comments, you will find a separate thread for every female character currently in the game. If your character will be asking that character to attend the prom as his or her date, just leave a comment on their thread. The player will comment back to confirm whether they will be accepting. Feel free to add any details as to how they went about asking, etc!

Of course, you're free to play out your character asking others to the prom. We just felt this would be a simple way to hold a discussion for those who don't want to thread it out as well as keep track of who is going with whom!

Sooo, as some of my characters have noted, Spring Break officially starts after school tomorrow in-game-wise. I thought it MIGHT be a good idea to work out who made plans to go where so we can plot up things that could potentially happen during said break.

SO.

Melly is going to Cancun. As discussed elsewhere, so are Abbie, Benjy, Aaron, Mark, Maggie and Sage. Is anyone else going with them? Melly says pretty much everyone is welcome! Cindy, did Aaron drag his siblings along, too? Crystal, what about Ollie and Libby? Did they go with the group or find their own fun?

Dari and Jeremy went to some super-seekrit location. She has no idea where, ask Jeremy.

Ed is dragging Ashleigh off to some romantic getaway.

Alicia and Chandler are staying in Chicago, because they is po'. At some point, though, Ana and Chandler are running away to a cheap hotel room for a little ALONE time.

That leave Bry & Savannah, James & Kris, Jase, Evey, Bri, Chelle and Jules... most, if not all, of them could be content to go along with the group or go elsewhere, depending on if anyone wants to claim their company during the break? Bri is iffy... she probably stayed home unless Savannah or Rob dragged her away somewhere.

My name is Betta and I'm an rp-aholic.  I gave it up for a long time and resounded to just playing with myself :-O and writing books, but then someone tempted me with asking if I'd ever rp-ed and I was all yeah, but I don't like the drama and she's like there's no drama and I'm like what type of characters do you play and then she's like telling me about super awesome rp! and I'm like SUPER AWESOME and then she's all MAKE ALL THE DRAMA!  And so I did.  Then she's like this little girl is so sad and lonely and has no love and I'm like I have this charismatic guy whose a cutie and she's like YES!  Then her friend is all like I WANT TO PLAY WITH THE NEW GIRL!

And thus the new girl is over here with not one but 2 characters to make all the love and happiness and joy.

And if you read that and didn't smile or roll your eyes you have no soul and I don't play with soulless monsters!

SO, the winter ball was Friday February 16th in-game, aka last weekend. We failed at posting about it like faily things, so here's an OOC post to discuss anything that may have gone down.

So, Crystal has two new characters.

→ Spencer "Spence" Lewis. Kind of a dork, but REALLY outgoing and talkative. Flirts with all the girls, probably gets shot down a LOT, though, because he's kind of dorky. His parents are divorced and his step-dad has a bajillion kids, so he has some step-siblings at school, but they don't really talk to him at school. Plays sports, but isn't super good at them and rides the bench a lot.

→ Scotty Roberts. Egotistical, charming, wanna be rock star. His big ambition is to form a band and make it big. He's really outgoing and he's a big flirt, so he pretty much knows everyone ever. Especially the hot chicks. Just saying. His journal is scottyrocks.

I've gone ahead and done the events calendars for the rest of the school year. *\O/* You can find them here.

I think that rather than playing the summer in real time, we'll start up with September 2011 again in February OR we could use February to play the summer (aka July and August) and have March 1st in real time = September 1st in game time. What do y'all think? Since the focus on the game is high school, I don't want to devote too much time to the summer break, but a month should give us enough time to play out anything we need to from summer vacation, y/y?

This is going to be a quick one...

Jeremy is throwing Dari a party. The party isn't a surprise. He does it every year. The theme IS a surprise, though. Dari doesn't know what it is.

He's had his father rent out one floor of a very posh hotel. Everyone has rooms, if they want to stay. If they don't, that's fine, too. He also talked his father into getting the penthouse suit for him. The only stipulation was that the party had to be on a WEEKEND. Jeremy chose the weekend after Dari's birthday. So... Friday, January 26-Sunday, January 28. He sent out invitations a couple of weeks ago. Everyone ever was invited.

Now.. the theme.. MASQUERADE!

Remember, Jeremy will be livid if your character ruin the surprise for Dari. Everyone is invited. An actual post will go up next weekend.

Just a note: The last day of February is going to span a few days since September obviously has more than 28 days, so it's not really possible to line September 29-30 up to real days on our calendar. Assume those days in real life are still February 28 in-game. Our regular time will pick up again on October 1st, which will be March 1st in-game.
