So my brother's been packed off for his week-long German exchange trip, and my best friend is busy having her time divided between her relatives in a far-off land without Internet or even computers... I myself am re-reading 'Thud!', and I also have two more books lined up for after it, at least as soon as I get to the library.
I'll do that when I go into town today. I'm going job-hunting again. I seem to be caught in a pattern: I go into a shop, ask if they have holiday or Saturday vacancies, and they either say no, to try again in September, or they give me an application form to hand in. I fill this in and get it back to them ASAP, and then never hear from them again. >.<
Fortunately, my mum's friend has opened a coffee shop in town, and needs staff, so I'm going to ask there! I'd like that job, as it'd include a bit of cooking and stuff. ^_^ I haven't been able to do that for ages, as I had to drop food tech for my GCSEs because it clashed with drama. I've only been making salads for myself and the occasional spag bog for our dinner... I'll have to wait till tomorrow, though, as it's not open on Mondays. So in the meantime I'll ask in Woolworths, Tesco, Sainsburies... excetera...
My cousin's pregnant again. I think she's... eighteen? Oh well. We went to a barbeque yesterday (we being me, mum and my brother) in celebration of my aunt and uncle's anniversary! Yay! And I had a startling epiphany... I have about twenty female cousins or second-cousins between the ages of one and ten, and I was terrified to address some of them by name because I was sure I'd get it wrong... O.o Uh-oh. |
