Who: Tig Oswauld-Spinks, Sophie Roper and Jonathon Chambers
What: Tig is playing match-maker.
Where: Three Broomsticks, Hogsmeade
When: Lunchtime - 18th November
Rating: Probably PG
Status: Incomplete

Tig usually ignored her Divination talents because most people she knew found it to be silly and she really didn't like to be laughed at for believing in such things. But when she looked into her teacup on Thursday morning she just knew she couldn't ignore what she saw.

She guessed it would have to be Sophie and Johhny the tea leaves were talking about. Sophie was the Aries Healer with a good heart, where as Johnny was the Taurus Single Dad with a love for sports. It fitted perfectly. Only problem was the two had never met - so that's where Tig came in. She decided she introduce them over lunch and then see if they hit it off from their, simple, right?

The Three Broomsticks was the prefect location for the meeting. It was a friendly atmosphere and even if Sophie and Johnny didn't hit it off they could still all have a nice lunch together. She sat at the table waiting for her friends, foot bouncing slightly because she was never able to keep still for long. Madam Rosemerta had brought her a butterbeer but she refused to order lunch before her friends arrived because that was just rude.

Hearing the bell above the door faintly tinkle above the sound of the other patrons at the pub, Tig looked toward it with a grin. She waved at the person that entered, recognising them immediately and waving them over to her table.

Sophie pulled her cloak tighter around her as she entered the Three Broomsticks. November was definitely here, and it was chilly. She was grateful she had chosen her light blue sweater on top of jeans that she knew looked good on her.

She knew Tig was setting her up, especially since she had said she wasn't. So she wanted to look nice, but refused to try too hard for a bloke she hadn't met.

"Hello dear," she said with a grin as she sat down at Tig's table. "How's one of my favorite troublemakers been?" Sophie had to get in a few teasing remarks before her friend showed up. Unlatching her cloak she let it rest on the back of the chair. "And if your little plot goes badly you will owe me missy." She was chuckling as she said it though, letting Tig know she was teasing.

"Hey Sophie-Soph," Tig greeted her friend as soon as she sat down. She was never really quite as good at Weasley 2 at making up nicknames but she did try. "I have been very well, actually." She continued, her voice light and chipper, as always. Tigger always had an upbeat attitude - being sad sucked.

She chuckled and shook her head at the tease. "Don't worry. He is lovely and well, I know you had your eye on a few Quidditch players at Oliver's party and I thought maybe he could introduce you to a few." She picked up her butterbeer and took another sip threw her straw before continuing. "Besides, it's always nice to meet new people, right?"

The door opened again and in walked Jonathon looking casual in jeans, a slightly loose fitting t-shirt, a long coat and his old Ravenclaw scarf. He looked around the pub for a bit before spotting the girls and grinning. It wasn't quite his friendly grin but a charming one none the less. One he used to charm the press and win over new people.

"Johnny!" Tig squeaked and stood from her chair, giving the older man a friendly hug and a peck on the cheek. She then turned to Sophie, beaming happily. "Jonathon, Sophie. Sophie, Jonathon." She said quickly by introduction before sitting back in her seat and letting Johnny sit.

"Hi, pleasure to meet you," Johnny stuck out his hand for a handshake, feeling a little awkward but trusting Tigger's judgement on making friends with the brunnette. She was cute, he'd give her that. But Johnny wasn't shallow. He liked to take his time before judging a person for himself.

Chuckling at the attempt at the nickname she smiled. "I'm glad you been well Tiggers. And in this case I meant you. Just for one day you bumped our favorite Twins out of that spot."

Further teasing was cut off by a very handsome gentleman heading over to their table. She did have a slight weakness for blondes, though looks were no were near the most important thing on her list. Returning his smile Sophie shook his hand, a firm grip but not to hard.

"It's nice to meet you," she told him, "And so nice of Tig to introduce us." Even if Tig had no idea what subtle meant when setting people up. Though really, she wasn't sure there was a subtle way to set two people up.

Tiger-Lily giggled at that. She never thought she'd ever be more troublesome than the Weasley Twins. But Sophie thought so, so she'd trust her to tell the truth. Tig was a very trusting person - sometimes a little too trusting.

Sophie seemed polite, which was always a plus in Jonathon's book. There was nothing worse than meeting someone and they be positively rude. First impressions were important and all that.

Letting go of Sophie's hand after the quick handshake, Johnny then took off his long coat and slung it over the back of his chair before taking a seat, looking around at his surroundings. "You were right Miss Lily. Never realised I was missing this place till today. Haven't been back in Hogsmeade since school."

"Nostagia." Tig nodded in agreement, excited that she used the word correctly. Tigger didn't have a big vocabulary and hated feeling dumb when she used a word incorrectly. Thankfully though, no one present at the table was too mean about it.

"Hey, we're all here. We can order food now." Tig bounced a little, looking between her two friends. Johnny chuckled at the hyperactive Hufflepuff's excitement. "What do we all want? I feel like something warm. Are you on a special diet for Quidditch, Johnny? What about you, Sophie? What do you feel like?"

Sophie smiled at Tig's giggle, glad her friend seemed to know she was teasing her. Sometimes Sophie had to keep her sarcasm and teasing in check as not everyone understood her sense of humor. So far Jonathon seemed like a good bloke and she didn't care for the idea of turning him off right away by seeming mean when it was all meant in good fun.

Nodding at their comments Sophie looked around, she agreed but she had just left Hogwarts less than six months ago. "For some reason I half expected it to seem different." Though it wasn't as crowded as it had been on Hogsmeade weekends it didn't feel any different.

Grinning at Tig's bouncyness Sophie thought about that. "Probably shepard's pie or fish and hips. I've always loved Rosmerta's shepard's pie."

"Oh, but it is different," Johnny commented, sending Sophie a small friendly grin. He was generally a pretty confident bloke around new people, probably why the press loved getting interviews from him - because he had a willingness to talk. "Now you can order Firewhiskey legally and without the disapproving looks." Jonathon guess Sophie was only young and fresh out of school. He couldn't remember her being in his year or the year below his, for that matter.

"Shepard's Pie!" Tig's eyes widened in excitement. "That sounds perfect. Shepard's Pie alright with you, Johnny?" Jonathon nodded, chuckling a bit of Tig's enthusiasm. After getting their approval, Tig hopped over to the to order their food, leaving Johnny and Sophie along for a bit.

Jonathon leaned forward in his seat a little and spoke in a low voice to Sophie as if sharing a big secret. "You know she's already planning our wedding, don't you?" Johnny thought Tig was an amazing friend but sometimes the petite blonde got a little carried away when she was match-making.

Sophie chuckled at the joke. "That is a very good point. though really, once a friend is of age it was easy to get them to order you the drink and take it once Rosmerta's back was turned." Not that she had ever done that. Really.

Grinning at Tig's enthusiasm as well she turned when she heard Jonathon's voice. Chuckling she leaned in to whisper back, "Oh I figured that out when she told me 'And no, no, no... don't think I'm playing matchmaker again.' I called her on it and she tried even harder to deny it." Sophie shrugged, "She always means well." Not wanting to turn to the bar she asked, "Is she watching us? And grinning like mad since our heads are together?"

"Point," Johnny replied with a smirk. He guessed from that little insight that Sophie let slip that she didn't seem as innocent as she appeared.

"Yeah," Jonathon agreed, eyes darting over to Tig for a moment as she ordered and then giggled something in Madam Rosemerta's ear. He shook his head and turned his attention back to Sophie. "Tiger-Lily is a sweetheart. She used to cheer us Ravenclaws back in school even though she's a Hufflepuff." He paused a bit before thinking he should elaborate, unsure how much Tig shared about him. "It's where I know her from. I was on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team with her cousin Oz."

His eyes looked over to Tiger again and he nodded with a soft smile. He shrugged then a wicked thought popped in his head. "Maybe we should play a trick on her. A nice one, of course. You know, a thanks for setting us up."

Returning the smirk Sophie let it relax back into a grin a few seconds later. She was friends with the Weasley Twins, they had definitely taught her a few non-innocent things. That and she had discovered a while ago that her doll like face made others think she couldn't possibly be trying to get away with anything, and had learned to use it.

Sophie turned for a brief second when Jonathon confirmed her suspicions, seeing Tigs whisper to Madam Rosemerta, "And now she's invited Rosemerta to the wedding," Sophie whispered. "She is a sweetheart though." And that explained how Tigs knew Jonathon. Though, with Tigs friendly and outgoing personality sometimes Sophie thought she knew everyone.

"A trick?" Sophie asked, raising an eyebrow. "Well what did you have in mind?" She hadn't really thought him to be the pranking type, though considering she had known him all of ten minutes she knew better than to judge right away. Plus, the type of prank he suggested would tell a lot about him.

"Hurrah, that's the catering covered." Jonathon replied sarcastically, although his tone was in completely good nature, of course. His was a bit cheeky when he wanted to be - not a typical trait one would find in a Ravenclaw. Most were under the assumption Ravenclaws were smart geeky people who spoke in riddles. Johnny loved to prove them wrong.

He hummed a little in thought and was about to suggest something when the topic of their conversation returned to the table, three serves of Shepard's Pie in her hands. "Have what in mind?" Tiger asked, looking between the pair as if she were watching a tennis match. She didn't wait for an answer though because she was quickly up and and scampering over to the bar. "I forgot drinks!"

Johnny chuckled a little at Tig's sudden departure again. "I'd swear if I didn't know better she did that on purpose." Poor Tig, she was such a little airhead sometimes. But she tried. "As for the trick, I'll get back to you on that."

Sophie giggled at his comment, shaking her head at him. "At least we know the food will be good and we won't run out of alcohol," she told him. "Now we just have to figure out when, where, and what type of flowers we want."

After Tig's brief appearance Sophie was giggling harder, "A knut says she eats half of her dinner and then suddenly remembers something super important and runs off on us." It was what any good matchmaker would do after all.

"Well that's no fun, promise a girl a good prank and then make her wait." She shook her head at him. "Just for that you'll have to make sure its an amazing one," she teased him. So far she was enjoying his sense of humor, it was fun.

"Well, considering Tig is organising it... Valentine's Day, Madam Puddifoot's and rainbow coloured gerbera daisies." He answered each point in the order in which Sophie said. That was one weird quirk Jonathon had, he tended to answer things in the order they were said or asked.

After watching the blonde Hufflepuff appear and disappear again, Johnny turned back to Sophie and gave her a slightly knowing look. "A knut says she doesn't. Tig likes to have front row seats to see the 'relationship' bloom." He had been set up by Tig before, just after he and his fiancee called it quits. In short, it was a disaster. "Has Tig tried to set you up before?"

"Amazing one what?" Tig said, returning to her seat and placing the drinks on the table. "Are we talking about Christmas presents? Cause if we are I spotted a cute cupcake dress for baby Mia I want to try making." She turned back to Sophie with a tilt of her head. Her rate of speech picking up due to excitement. "Did he tell you about Mia?"

Wrinkling her nose a bit as Jonathon began giving the details of the wedding Tig would plan for them she shook her head. "Well hopefully this doesn't disappoint you but I'll be arguing with Tig about everyone of those decisions." She loved Tig but a Valentine's wedding was too cliche, Madam Puddifoot's was just too much in general, and while rainbow colored flowers could be pretty they were too much for a wedding. Well, unless it was Tig's wedding.

"I've heard stories but been able to avoid full on set-up's before." Though she had dropped hints before.

"Just what an amazing friend you can be," Sophie told Tig with a smile. It might not exactly fit the comment but hopefully she would just take the compliment. "No whose Mia?" Sophie asked, figuring she must at be a young child since Tig wanted to make a cupcake dress.

"Although, can we keep the unicorn she'll try to get us to ride off in wedded bliss on?" Johnny asked his voice serious except the mischievous glint in his eyes gave it away that he was kidding. After all, what would he do with a unicorn? They didn't tend to like busy places like Brighton, where he was based most of the year when he wasn't traveling with his Quidditch Team. Of course, the fact he could move from Brighton was completely forgotten. Johnny wasn't exact smart in the common sense area.

"Lucky you. I have been on three." Johnny shrugged. He wasn't about to mention those three were the only dates he went on since splitting from Amanda two years ago. But he had different priorities than most twenty year olds. He had a career and a little girl to look out for.

"Naww, love you too." Tig replied, reaching out and giving Sophie's hand a squeeze. Tig was always the touchy type. She was completely oblivious to any plotting against her. "Oh, show her a picture, Johnny."

Jonathon was already fishing one out of his wallet and passed the photo over to Sophie, a little proud grin on his face. "That's Mia, my daughter. She's one and a half." He sat back in his seat a little, letting Sophie look at the picture and coo over Mia like most girls tended to do.

"Only if its silver, I've always liked the silver unicorns best," Sophie said, not skipping a beat. A similar glint was in her eyes as they joked. Though she wouldn't object as much to keeping a unicorn, they were so pretty after all. Still, she knew it wasn't realistic.

Squeezing Tig's hand Sophie nodded. Luckily she could be quite touchy as well, so Tig and her demonstrations of affection never bothered her.

Taking the picture Sophie did begin cooing, "Awww she's so cute," she smiled at Jonathon. "Does she live with you?" She was also a bit curious about the entire story there, and why Tig had left that part out. She had no problem with the idea of dating a dad, but if the situation was insane. Well, actually Sophie knew Tig, if it was crazy she wouldn't have even been trying to set Jonathon up.

"That's because they are the best." Johnny nodded, continuing with the little joke. Sophie seemed nice and they seemed to be getting along well. Even if nothing happened between them like Tig had planned, at least he might have made another friend.

He shook his head at her question. "No, she lives with her Mum. I play professional Quidditch for Puddlemere, so my life is a bit unstable to be bringing a baby along with me everywhere I go." Johnny didn't sound bothered at all by the arrangement he and Amanda had to raise their little girl. It suited them and allowed them to continue on with their lives too. "Although, I get Mia a lot during the off season and during breaks. Amanda and I get along well, we just weren't suited for each other anymore and didn't think it fair to force a relationship just for Mia. She deserves to grow up in a happy environment and that wouldn't have been the case had her mother and I stayed together."

Johnny had no qualms with sharing his situation with other people because he had no problems with it. He was happy. Amanda was happy. And Mia was happy, which was the main priority in Johnny's eyes. Anyone with negative opinions about it could just sod off as far as he was concerned.

Tig smiled shyly at Sophie, ducking her head a little. "Sorry I left that out." She said, voice shy... well, as shy as Tig got which wasn't shy at all. "Johnny is a great Dad, but some girls don't like the idea of someone with other commitments." Her eyes widened comically then and she covered her mouth, realising that she had just implied that this was a set up for the first time.

"Well we have one thing in common at least," Sophie said with a grin. She was glad her and Johnny were getting along. It was always nice to meet new people, and if it did go somewhere all the better.

"Go Puddlemere," she said with a grin when he announced his team. She remembered Tig telling her that at least. Nodding her head as he finished up she said, "Sounds like it works for everyone involved." Sophie really liked that he had just been so honest an forthcoming, not everyone would be in that type of situation.

Chuckling at Tig Sophie turned her head to her, "Busted," she teased. "Though I think we had both already figured that out." She wasn't going to tell Tig that her and Jonathon had figured it out and been teasing about it.

Johnny chuckled when Sophie let out the little cheer for his team. He shrugged a bit when she said it worked for everyone - knowing that their were others out there that weren't so lucky to have his and Amanda's situation turn out as well as it had. It was working well for them at the moment, but who knew what could happen down the track.

As for the honesty part - Johnny saw no reason to lie. He was always very upfront about things.

Tig lowered the hand from her mouth, her blue eyes becoming apologetic. "I'm sorry. I know neither of you like being set up but the tea leaves this morning said you two should meet and a something could happen between you." She fidgeted in her seat, feeling a bit silly. She knew most people took Divination with a grain of salt - some even thought it a waste of time. But it was one of the only things at Hogwarts that she excelled at, so she liked to keep in touch with it on occasion.

Smiling at his laugh Sophie had to shake her head when Tig went on about the tea leaves.

"It's alright Tigs, we both kinda figured out what you were up too. Your heart was in the right place." She didn't comment on the tea leaves, thinking divination was a bit silly. Sophie wasn't going to hurt Tig's feelings by telling her that though. "I think we're all having fun and that's the important thing right?"
