Wowww, sorry my life has been like this giant pit of busy lately. And that I fail at checking Scribbld. Also, is it weird that when I sneeze it makes my gums feel ticklish?

Moving on.

Comment with one of my characters (past or present) and I will tell you the following:

1. What initially prompted me to like the character enough to write about him/her.
2. One of his/her best traits.
3. One of his/her worst traits.
4. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character.
5. The story/thread/chapter/post/paragraph/tag/phrase where I feel that I truly captured the character.
6. My plans for the character in the near future. (In the case of previous characters, this question reads as "what I planned to do with them.")

Ah, Charles.

1. What initially prompted me to like the character enough to write about him/her.
Well, we read lots of contes de fée in senior year of high school, the majority of which were by Charles Perrault, so I was like... okay, cool, I know a lot of his works and they'd be really cool to do plot-type things with.

2. One of his/her best traits.
He's very good at doing the right thing. He's got a good head on his shoulders.

3. One of his/her worst traits.
He has the ability to be a bit of a snob sometimes. Sort of... more hipster than thou, occasionally. He also has a tendency to be very bitter for a seventeen-year-old boy.

4. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character.
It was easier at first, but lately it's been harder... mostly because I think I'm being totally pretentious and playing way out of my league with him. (We're kind of on the outs, me and Charles.)

5. The story/thread/chapter/post/paragraph/tag/phrase where I feel that I truly captured the character.
His first LJ entry.

6. My plans for the character in the near future.
Mmmm... probably dropping him. :/

1. What initially prompted me to like the character enough to write about him/her.
Ama.

Also, I read a bunch of his short stories in school and really enjoyed them, and he's just such a tragic figure and what's a dramatic game without more tragedy? Also, Scott needed a BFF. Also, I really wanted a teacher.

2. One of his/her best traits.
He's honest. Especially when inebriated...

3. One of his/her worst traits.
Um. He's an alcoholic.

Also, he has a tendency to despair and worry about things all the time. And he's too proud/scared to actually talk to someone about it, because, really... who would believe him?

4. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character.
It depends on two things: his mood and my mood. If I'm feeling rotten, you get cranky angsty Hemingway. If I'm feeling happy, he does a lot of playful banter and has these supposedly 'cute' moments that all of you seem to like so much. I have to be in a particular state of mind to write him. He's a little challenging for me sometimes.

5. The story/thread/chapter/post/paragraph/tag/phrase where I feel that I truly captured the character.
Mmm... it's hard to say. Sometimes I still don't think I've really got Hemingway. But I do like the scene Life's Not Fair.

6. My plans for the character in the near future.
Uh. Nothing as of right now, except I'd like for him to call Scott's house one day and have Zelda pick up and be totally awkward.

1. What initially prompted me to like the character enough to write about him/her.
I really wanted a girl, a fun girl, and Dot just sort of popped into my head fully-formed. JUST LIKE ATHENA. Only with a dependence on alcohol and a penchant for making people cry.

2. One of his/her best traits.
She's a very devoted friend. And she's very much unbothered by what most people think of her, so it makes it easier for her to make decisions. She's very much ruled by what makes her happy... which might be a blessing and a curse.

3. One of his/her worst traits.
Um. She's a 19-year-old alcoholic.

Also, she can be really mean and tactless.

4. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character.
I have to really want to write her, but when I do, she's very easy to work with. I love Dot. She and Laura are my favorite PS characters. (That I write, anyway - you know I love everyone else's!) I don't like writing emo!Dot. Those days when Evelyn was avoiding her were really bad.

5. The story/thread/chapter/post/paragraph/tag/phrase where I feel that I truly captured the character.
Mmmm... Kindred Spirits, maybe? I rather like Whatever, too. Classic Dot, right there.

6. My plans for the character in the near future.
That all depends on what happens with Neil and Evelyn and I'm not saying any more than that. Also I sort of want a bitchfight with Simone. xDD
