Any notable differences from the pb? Stands at 6'1". Has a tendency to dye his super white blond hair whacky colors and then put it in a mohawk or liberty spikes. Wears beaten and worn clothes he picks up from the Salvation Army. Owns two leather coats covered in patches, studs and pins.
On his 17th birthday he decided he wanted a tattoo. He convinced Uncle Dmitri through whatever charm he had to bring the boys to a parlor so that Luka could get one too. They're matching tattoos, something they designed themselves and is located on his upper left arm. It's a T-Rex with a banner above that reads: "Dinosaur Motor Club" and one beneath that reads: "New York City." Thorny got a second tattoo on his eighteenth birthday: a cuff around his upper right arm that says "Too weird to live, too rare to die" in Russian.
School/Magic Stuff

Schedule: Senior year: Wandless (instead of charms), magical crafting, art (the third time he's taken it), language arts, combative magic, advanced potions I. University: He's studying potions with Professor Morse, which both terrifies him and intrigues him.
Strongest subject in school: Herbology
Weakest subject in school: Charms (he gets bored with the repetition)
Extracurricular activities: Plays bass in the school orchestra. Dueling club. Art club (mostly for access to the dark room). Debate team. School paper. He has a lot of activities to keep him busy and out of trouble.
Boggart and Riddikulus: A crying baby. His riddikulus is a hot nurse spooning purple jello into the baby's mouth until it stops crying.

Any other relations we should know about: He is attached at the hip to his cousin Luka. He has another cousin Elena; their relationship is stormy, and Nikolai and Xavier; he gets along better with them.
Significant Others: In the fall of 2010 he dated Abernathy Ford. He's been on and off with Cinnamyn Thompson. He had a brief thing with November Hall in spring of 2011, but he figures he ruined it over the summer and has given up. May have dated one of the Evans twins, but he can't tell them apart; he couldn't tell you which one.
Friends: Ryder Balston, Leland Sykes, Violet and Scarlet Evans, Riley Bloodfeather.

Personality
Likes: punk rock, safety pins, sweet potato pie, stealing mom's hair dye, grindhouse movies

Quirks: - Bilingual; speaks Russian and English.
- Thorny plays guitar, he prefers electric. He also plays the bass (the most lamentably unappreciated instrument in a rock band). He and Luka once tossed around the idea of being a two piece band (called the Lords of Lobotomy), though they've yet to play an official gig.
- He's a little bit dyslexic.
Secrets: - Once stole 50 dollars from one of his cousins, never told them and will probably never pay them back.
Strengths: Lots of fun to be around.
Weaknesses: Tendency to get destructive, gets distracted really easily
Detailed personality: Thorny is usually agreeable and fun loving, but very wild. It's hard to control him unless he's focused on a project. It's possible that he has undiagnosed ADHD.
He's an instigator. He enjoys conflict, particularly when it's not focused on him but people around him. He will loudly mention past slights or sore spots between people in the room. He uses this tactic A LOT with his cousin Elena.
He's adventurous and game for just about any stupid stunt.
A little bit daft. He tends to overlook little details (and much bigger ones depending on the time of day, his mood, his attention span).
Personal History: Hawthorne didn't start out with a very conventional childhood. Born the lovechild of Regina and Misha, on again off again s.o.'s who live one floor apart in the same building. Thorny, as he came to be affectionately known, got to live in two different apartments with two different bedrooms and parents who loved each other but would never commit more than that.
Misha wasn't sure if Thorn would be a wizard, so they tried public school for awhile, but by the age of eight the green mohawk wearing punk rocker wasn't fitting in very well and the school situation wasn't going to work out. Regina agreed to homeschool him until he received his acceptance letter to wizarding school.
He is best friends with his cousin Luka who is one year younger. They usually spend their summers terrorizing whichever poor aunt/uncle/parent ended up with them.
The adults tried to prevent the boys from going to the same school, but Thorn won the argument. Dresden was the closest school and had a good reputation for dealing with troubling kids in a fair way. Mind you, Thorn and Luka have earned their fair share of detentions together.
