Year in Fic: 2009
Eight days late, but whatever, it's mostly for my benefit anyway.

Fannish Stuff What I Made in 2009

Fanfiction
The Most Beautiful Woman in Europe, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Percy/Marguerite. Technically written in 2008, but it was a Yuletide fic so I didn't record it until 2009. Also, only avaliable on FFN due to Yuletide changing archives.
Without Absolute Evidence, Doctor Who/Vorkosiverse, Aral/Cordelia with some hints of Nine/Rose and Nine/Jack/Rose, and Cordelia-Jack friendship. Chapter one the only one in existence, annoyingly.
Sibling Rivalry, Sarah Jane Adventures/Torchwood.
Getting Off Light (old title Wiseass), Dresden Files, Harry/Murphy.
Aliens and Vampires, Sarah Jane Adventures/SEKRIT FANDOM.
He Knows If You've Been Bad or Good, Dresden Files. Harry/Murphy friendshipping.
The Doctor's Angels, Doctor Who, Liz/Jo/Sarah Jane friendshipping.
postcards, Dresden Files AU, Maggie/Malcolm.
Ten Ways of Looking at a Holiday, Doctor Who, genfic.
There's Nothing You And I Won't Do, Vorkosiverse, Cordelia/Aral
Hail to the Pirate King, Pirates of the Caribbean, Elizabeth/Will, smut.
Inspection, Dresden Files/Star Wars.
The UNIT Recruit's Handbook, remix of biichan's work, Doctor Who.
What You Don't Say, Battlestar Galactica, Roslin/Adama.
Never Saw It Coming, Codex Alera, Tavi/Kitai with bonus Max!
Plagarism, poem with stolen words.

Fanmixes
When You're Evil, a mix for the killer GM in all of us.
Remember the Name, Vorkosiverse, Miles Vorkosigan.
My Ain True Love, Battlestar Galactica, Roslin/Adama.

Q&A
My favorite story this year (of my own):
postcards, probably. I don't write nearly enough Maggie/Malcolm. Either that or What You Don't Say.

My best story this year:
postcards. A lot of work went into that very short fic.

Story most tragically underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Inspection. I mean, come on! Murphy as a stormtrooper, without crack! Actually, on second thought, that's probably why not many people love it, because it isn't crack. But Puck loved it, which is all I really needed to happen.

Most overrated story, in my opinion:
The Doctor's Angels. Started as a tossed-off remark, ended as lots and lots of people squeeing.

Most fun story:
Without Absolute Evidence. The look on Jack's face alone makes me giggle when I think about it.

Most sexy story:
Hail to the Pirate King. Which was silly!sex, which I firmly believe is the best kind of sex. *nods firmly*

Story with the single sexiest moment:
Hail to the Pirate King again, I guess.

Most unintentionally telling story:
Sibling Rivalry. Actually, most of the SJA stories have some sort of nod towards my firm fanon belief that Sarah Jane thinks Torchwood is a bunch of incompetent idiots. It may or may not be an opinion I share. *cough*

"Holy crap, that's wrong, even for me" story:
I didn't have one this year! So there. I saved it all for my profic.

Story that shifted my own perception of the characters:
Inspection. It aired a bugbear I didn't even know I had.

Hardest story to write:
Never Saw It Coming took forever, and it shouldn't have. I think it was because however much I love and adore Max (and it is a LOT), it's a bit difficult for me to get into his head. Once I got the drinking song written, however, it moved from there.

Worst story:
Aliens and Vampires. It's not a bad concept, just too hastily written.

Easiest story to write:
postcards. Easiest story to revise, now... no.

Story I'd like to revise (but probably won't):
Any of the fandom_stocking stories.

Story I wish I'd finished:
Kyrie, for the nth time, and Without Absolute Evidence.

Story I didn't write but swear I will, someday:
Let's see. That Story with the Placidas, and Deadly and Unpredictable.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
A lot less. This year seems to have been profic year.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2007?
Battlestar Galactica, Codex Alera, Pirates.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Not really. It was a low year for production, for me. I tried a bunch of new fandoms, and I tried some smut, and I tried some really short stuff, but I've done that all before. I feel unexperimental.

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
FINISH KYRIE (really this time), and finish everything I've promised people. Profic is an entirely seperate subject.
