My favorite story this year (of my own):
I'm in love with Ten Times Trouble. It's easily the longest fic I've written, and I think it's funny, thought-provoking and occasionally poignant. I loves it muchly. Esp. Ten walking in on Ian and Barbara, undercover Six, and Jack flirting with a lot of people. But I'm also very fond of A Brother Is Born For Adversity, because it's my first Vorkosigan fanfic and because...well, I have a brother. I was always very sad that we never got to see much of Cordelia's brother. Because brothers and sisters interact v. amusingly.

My best story this year:
Desperate Measures, I think. Hard and hurting and oddly funny sometimes.

Story most tragically underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Survival. I think it's a good (if wrong) story, but the only one who read it was Pris and a couple of people from dresdenfic. DDD:

Most overrated story, in my opinion:
Ridiculous. The Sherlock Holmes fandom seems to have embraced it as their long-lost child, which I don't get, because it is weird. And slightly wrong. Just... well, ridiculous.

Most fun story:
Practicality! THEY NEVER EXPECT THE BAZOOKAS!

Most sexy story:
I didn't actually write any sexy stories this year. I wrote stories with sex in them (Dreaming and Surivial) but in one case it was really surreal, dreamy sex and in the other it was outright rape. Nothing was really meant to be sexy.

Story with the single sexiest moment:
See above. Though Dreaming, maybe, could count as sexy.

Most unintentionally telling story:
Practicality. *cough* I may have shown a little dislike for Harry Potter there. A bit.

"Holy crap, that's wrong, even for me" story:
Survival. Outright rape, trauma, threatening of children, definitely wrong.

Story that shifted my own perception of the characters:
I Can't Decide. I was sympathizing with Azula and the Master while they were plotting to kill the Doctor. Wow.

Hardest story to write:
Leaving last year's answer because it's still appropriate.
Kyrie Eleison. It's still not finished, and it's been hard going all the way. I'm having to make up these characters as I go, but I can't contradict known canon, of which there is very little and widely scattered. I'm also trying to write an extended love story, which is difficult for me, and resisting the urge to keep everyone alive at the end, which would definitely contradict canon. Add to this an outline that's sketchy at best, and you can see how this would be very difficult. I adore this story, though, so have no fear, it will be finished.

Worst story:
Blaaaaag It's Always Lightning. That was just stupid.

Easiest story to write:
Space Between the Seconds.

Story I'd like to revise (but probably won't):
There's a few things in A Brother Is Born For Adversity that I'd like to fix, but I think I'm going to chalk them up to "writing to my older brother reversion" and let them go. There's two more parts to that story anyway.

Story I wish I'd finished:
Kyrie, again. It's closer to finished! I'm stuck at this cursed Plot Necessary Sex Scene.

Story I didn't write but swear I will, someday:
Something with Aral/Cordelia, Miles, and pure fluff.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
Less, actually. My fic production really trailed off towards the end of the year.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2007?
I never expected to get into the Vorkosigan fandom. Then I did, and bam.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Mostly, this year I extended risks that I took last year. I think the biggest one was The Dalek Invasion of Discworld. I imitated Pratchett's style as closely as possible and tried to keep the spirit of both fandoms; I'm not entirely sure I succeeded. But I jumped into some new fandoms (Vorkisverse ho!) and wrote some new stuff, wrote some drabbles and one-shots and overall did very well, I think.

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
Well, get more published, maybe finally finish Kyrie, all that jazz.
