What if I forgot my username or password?
You can retrieve a forgotten username or reset a forgotten password with the
Lost Information page.
- Lost username emails are only sent to the email address currently listed on your account.
- Lost password emails are only sent to the email address currently listed on your account or to a previously validated email address.
- Keep a current email address on your account so you can always get these emails.
The username and password email system is entirely automated, so you will need to create a new account if retrieving your username or resetting your password is unsuccessful. Scribbld staff and volunteers can't reset your password, change your email address, or delete your account for you.
Lost Passwords
For security reasons, a lost password email contains a link to reset your password, not your original password. This link will allow you to change your password at the Change Password page.
Troubleshooting
If you do not remember which email address you used with the account,
- Enter your username, but leave the email section blank on the Lost Information page.
- Scribbld will automatically sent a Lost Password email to the current email address.
- Check all of your email accounts for a Lost Password email.
If the Lost Password/Username email does not arrive in any of your email accounts,
- Type an email address in the field to test whether the email address can receive the Lost Password/Username email.
- The Lost Information page will say that the Lost Password/Username email has been sent or that the email address entered is not valid.
- Test all of your email addresses to determine which address(es) can receive a Lost Password/Username email.
- Investigate why you aren't receiving emails from Scribbld at an address where Scribbld sent an email.
- Request the Lost Password/Username email after your account receives email from Scribbld again.
