Player (nickname, handle)/ LJ: De

AIM (if you have one): On File
Character Name: Matthew Jacob "Jake" Talbot
Character LJ (if applicable): a_good_soldier
Physical description (face, build, weight): 5'11", dark hair, brown eyes and in excellent physical condition.
Age: 26
Birthday: August 24th
PB: (If using one.) Michael Trevino

Abilities: Tactile Psychokinesis - Jake is a mutant with the ability to generate a psychokinectic field around his body that protects him from various forms of physical damage and grants him increased durability. He can withstand a both small and heavy-caliber gunfire, blunt force trauma and super-human strength attacks from beings in the strength range of Thor with this field. Oddly, the energy field appears to others as a transparent green haze that conforms to his body.

Super-Strength: Jake is capable of super-human strength tied to his psychokinetic field. The field does not need to be up for his strength to be used. He is capable of lifting and exerting physical pressure up to sixty-five tons.

Natural Learning aptitude: Jake learns new skills rapidly and can usually perform a task after being shown once or twice.

Military Training: Jake is an expert marksman in several military rifles and pistols. He has completed Airborne Jump Training, Rappeling and Night Navigation schools in addition to standard survival and engagement techniques. He has knowledge of military and small unit tactics as well.

Martial Arts Training: Jake holds a Black Belt in Brazilian Jujitsu, having been involved with the art since he was eight years old. He has also dabbled in Muay Thai kickboxing and is proficient in military self-defense techniques.

Peak Human Physical Fitness: Due to martial arts and military training, Jake's endurance is that of an Olympic-level athlete, which he must work to maintain.

Weaknesses and flaws: Jake is a patriot and deeply proud of being American. He's not one to let cracks against his country slide and might come across as a bit jingoistic at times. As such, he can be manipulated with his patriotism.

Jake's powers do not afford him super-human endurance, and he does eventually fatigue. Furthermore, his field is not always on; it is activated mentally. It only takes a second to turn it on...but if he's not expecting danger, he's just as vulnerable as a normal human.

Jake is also susceptible to sickness like a regular human being.

Character location/Home: Boston, MA
Alignment (villain, hero etc): Hero
Relatives (living/dead?): Colonel Glenn Talbot (Uncle, deceased), Lieutenant Brian Talbot (Father, deceased), Erica Talbot (Mother, living)

Backstory: Matthew Jacob Talbot is the son of Lieutenant Brian Talbot and the nephew of Colonel Glenn Talbot, second-in-command to General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross. Brian was exposed to the DNA of the Leader and the Hulk at one time, but eventually he was saved by none other than Bruce Banner, who purged the the DNA and took away Brian's abilities, but not before the younger Talbot conceived a child with his wife. Jake, as he likes to be called, grew up in the military life and knew it was for him the first day he saw his father put on the uniform. He also spent a great deal of time with his Uncle Glenn as a toddler, and met Betty Ross and General Ross. However, after Glenn's marriage fell apart, Jake never saw Betty again and probably wouldn't recognize now her if he did.

He watched his Uncle Glenn become more and more obsessed with work and the relationship between the his uncle and father break down until they no longer spoke, either. Brian Talbot himself was obseesed with being better than his brother, which eventually drove Jake's mother away, leaving Jake with Brian by the time Jake was six years old. Rather than let the boy go out and get into trouble (or play with other kids), Brian enrolled Jake in martial arts and strictly controlled his son's schedule, giving him a routine to follow in case Brian was ever deployed, which he often was.

Jake grew up shuffled between his parents, but learned to become self-reliant as he got older. He competed in Jujitsu tournaments throughout middle school and high school, but even this was not enough to earn his father's respect. When Brian died on Jake's 16th birthday, the ensuing grief and stress caused Jake's powers to manifest for the first time, leading him to smash up his father's classic mustang. He learned of Uncle Glenn's passing soon after, which solidified his decision to carry on his family's military tradition.

Jake didn't want to be known as a mutant, so he did his best to learn about and control his powers on his own, gaining a degree of control. He finished high school with little difficulty and enlisted in the Army against his mother's wishes, causing a rift between the two. Later, he met General Ross again, who seemed to know about Jake's abilities. After basic training, General Ross pulled a few strings to get Jake into the best infantry schools, hoping to produce a soldier that could take down the Hulk. Jake was selected to join Delta Force at 24 years old and has traveled the world on various missions for the U.S. Army.

After a mission in Iran, Jake's Delta Force Unit was awarded the Medal of Honor for the capture of terrorist Ali Daryaei.

Afterward, he was approached by the leader of a new government unit seeking his services for a new mission of great importance: bringing down the Hulks.

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: He has been introduced during a mission that Crosshairs and the Hood went on inside of Iran.

What are you planning to do with this character?: I have an idea for a mini-plot involving the T-Bolts and a new version of the Hulkbusters who are after the Hulks and their children.

What do you want to see happen with this character?: I'd like for Jake to make friends outside of the military and learn that the world is not always so black and white. Also, further character development by working with the Thunderbolts.
