Jobs

Each fairy tale is offered a job within their skill set upon arrival at Haven. This keeps the tales occupied and it helps keep the city running efficiently. Everyone chips in.

Below is a running list of jobs and those who occupy them. There is opportunity for multiple characters working the same job. Anything you can think of is a possibility. Comment below when you pick a job for your characters so I can add them.

Jobs Available in Haven
Barmaid/tender
Gretel	Works in one of the many bars/taverns serving drinks to the good citizens of Haven
Courier
Puss de Carabas	Akin to a mailman; hand delivers packages and correspondence from one creature to another
The Deputy Mayor
The Chesire Cat	Helps the mayor delegate jobs and housing in the city of Haven. For the most part he works the night shift.
Entertainer
Helen (musician)	May work in any established club within Haven. Entertainers can use any of their talents, such as music, dance, acting, comedy, etc.
Farm Work
No Employees Yet	Helps maintain the farmland on the south side of the park, some are responsible for growing giant fruit and vegis, others are responsible for harvesting, some others are responsible for tending to the dumb livestock (non-communicative, non-magical animals)
Forestry
Oberon (during the autumn - winter season; protects the sleeping trees, sings them to sleep) Rose Red (largely assists others in traversing the woods)	Duties include maintaining the forest; sometimes changes hands depending on season. Can oversee safe passage of people through the woods, or ensuring the trees sleep/awake at the right time of year, among other duties (which depend on the tale's skill set)
Gardening
Carabosse (her specialties are nightblooming flora and roses)	Largely maintaining the gardens in the park, but also working in various locations around the city.
Housekeeping
Snow White	Cleans the living accommodations in a specific building.
The Mayor
Christopher Robin	Delegates jobs and housing in the city of Haven.
Metal Work
Tinkerbell (specifically tin)	Crafting jewelry, furniture, custom pieces, art, anything you'd like out of metal.
Pest Control
Piper	Dealing with the occasional wayward rodent or non-talking animal that wanders out of fair pastures and into the city.
Private Enterprise
Carabosse (works enchantments, makes potions)	Characters may wish to carry on other business on the side to barter for things they cannot get for free in Haven (or for simple entertainment).
Ship's Crew

The Setting

All is Fair is set in the city of Haven, something of a retirement community for tired fairy tales. This is a place where they can settle in and live a more mundane life, interact with other characters, or carry on however they like.

Once a tale has decided to move they are granted a choice of residence and offered a job within their skill set. Most things in the city are free, but a tale must help contribute in some way in order to support this system.

This will be added to as we move forward.

Basic geography:
The city is a fair size, surrounded on all sides by a self-contained body of water known as the Sleepless Sea. Passage can be bought on ships that will sail from the outside world over the Sleepless Sea to Haven. These journeys take around two to three days depending on how fair the weather is.

The city is ringed by a beach and a fence, though there are rather large gaps in the fence through which people/creatures can pass.

The Mayor's office is situated across from the main gates into Haven. The Gates are located in the north.

In the west section of the city is a thick, self contained forest in which the wilder tales often choose to live. In the east there is a large park with open grass and well kept gardens.

At the south end of the park is a rather large farm that grows all of the produce and most of the livestock for the city. Most produce that comes out of the farm is abnormally large due to the magic used to grow it bigger and faster. The livestock raised here is dumb (not the sort of magical, communicating animals featured in fairy tales).

In the center of the city is a massive castle in which many royal fairy tales chose to live.

Living arrangements:
Tales may choose to live in any location they desire within Haven. There are cottages in the woods and on the farm, apartments in the many city buildings, and lodgings in the castle (Christopher Robin often jokes about tower rooms for princesses). Tales can also chose to camp on the beach outside the city gates or rough it in the woods/on the farm/on the streets.

Premise

All is Fair is a role playing game for fairy tale characters and the characters of other such beloved stories.

Set in the city of Haven, a magical place where fairy tales can live outside the constrains of their stories.

Tales can learn of the place through a magical brochure that floats around, from another tale who knows of it, or by dying (in which most tales end up magically on the shore of the Sleepless Sea just outside the city).

At the main gate, the Mayor's Office serves as an intermediary to help new tales adjust to life in Haven. Each fairy tale is interviewed, placed in a job based on their skills, and offered a choice of places to live. From there they're welcomed into the city of Haven and free to do as they please.

Most plot will be player generated. At present the game is just a place to play with our fairy tale muses.
