- On October 31st, 1990 in Salt Lake City, Utah, Jonathan Hale Jr. (son of an oil tycoon, who later became Governor of Utah), and his wife Christine Penney (an heiress to the J.C. Penney fortune) brought a baby girl into the world. Needless to say, Allisyn Penni Hale grew up in a life of privilege, or at least that is the way it looks to most people. From her looks, she has the wealthy, spoiled brat aura surrounding her, especially since many people know who she is, and her family background, but she does not feel as though she fits into that category. Due to the fact that she was directly in the middle of five children, she has a little case of the "middle child syndrome." She wasn't as spoiled as her other siblings, and she never got as much attention as the others.
- As stated earlier, Aly was the third child born our of five children, four of which were boys (who were named for saints). In order, they were born John (1986), Matthew (1989), Allisyn (1990), Peter (1991) and Paul (1994). They are a loving, religious family, but as Aly grew older, she slowly started to sway away from the family and she is not close to any member of it. She doesn't, and has never felt like she fit in with them. She secretly supports things that her family did not support, she views things differently. Her family is strictly Republican - her father was once mayor of Salt Lake City, and became Governor of Utah when she was 14. He is currently running for the next term in office. She has chosen to go Democratic (she is very supportive of Hillary Clinton). Her family are also members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, however, she follows Kabbalah, and even wears the red string around her wrist. To put it simply, she is the rebellious black sheep of the family.
- Due to the fact that Aly's father is the Governor, she lives in Kearns Mansion with her family. Aly hates it with a passion, especially during the summertime (and December), when tours are given through the mansion. A day isn't a day without groups of people wandering in and out of the mansion, which drives Aly insane. There are many gatherings and "parties" for other politicians at the mansion, which Aly normally has to attend. Every time, she invites a friend over just to keep her company. She can't wait to be able to go out on her own, but chances are that she'll stick around for the next four years just because of the maids and chefs, who do all of the family's cleaning, cooking and whatever else around the mansion.
- Although she is generally a nice person, she has the tendency to be a bitch, especially to those who "rub her the wrong way." She is very capable of holding a good fight, but she finds it almost impossible to let them go. Although she may be a bitch at times, she can also be a complete goofball, and there's no doubt that she's fun to be around (if she likes you). She can be a very friendly person at times, and can easily befriend anybody, but she would much rather stick to a small "circle of trust," which just contains a few of her closest friends. This circle of trust contains Alexandia Henessey and Rhett Collins. Aly refers to them as the All-American Rejects because when you put their first names together, well, you get AAR.
- Aly and her first boyfriend were together from 2005, when Aly was fifteen, and it lasted until Valentine's Day of 2008. Not only was he her first boyfriend, to put it simply, he was pretty much her first everything. They were inseparable. Aly only saw the good side of things and never realized that things would soon come to an end, even if there were rumors out there about him cheating. When Valentine's Day came around, he was caught in the act, and of course, the relationship came to an end. For awhile, Aly blamed herself for what he did, but eventually she bounced back and was even stronger than before. She figured that if he was low enough to do something like that, he wasn't worth her being upset over.
- Aly usually gets good grades, but she has a tendency to goof off in some of her classes. Such as her reason for taking the King Arthur and the Middle Ages class was because of her love for the movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." She can often be heard quoting lines from the movie, or singing songs from that and "Spamalot," which gets her kicked out of the classroom at least twice a week. She also took Collision Repair/Automotive because she knew her mother wouldn't like that much, as well as The Big Bang Theory course, since it doesn't exactly follow the bible. Other than taking classes because they can be related movies, she is an A/B student, but even if the flunked, it would probably go unnoticed by her mother and father. Also, on the subject of schooling, knowing that she would be having a child in the following year, Aly's mother held Matthew back from starting school for a year so that he and Aly would be in the same class.
- She is a complete video game freak. Her favorites include Pokemon on her DS, Halo for Xbox, and World of Warcraft on her PC. Most people don't know about this - she tries her best to keep it a secret, and it works. Aly also likes comic books (her favorite character is Polaris from X-Men) and things like that. And no, she did not see "The Dark Knight" strictly for Heath Ledger. To add a bit more to her nerdiness, she enjoys watching Anime, and only in Japanese, especially the Dragonball series.
