CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Riley Boot
Birthday/Age: September 29 / 17
House/Year: Hufflepuff / 7th
Classes: Muggle Studies, Potions, Transfiguration, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Charms
History: Riley is the youngest of four daughters, and the only one who'd ever had to travel back and forth between them because of their divorce. Riley's older sisters had all already flown the coop by the time Riley's parents finally filed for a divorce, back when she was in third year. Riley doesn't mind, going on that age-old excuse of, "Hey, at least now I have two rooms!"
Due to Riley's parents working rather frequently with Muggles (both being part of the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes), Riley's grown a sense of fondness for the Muggle world. It's her hope to one day hitch hike across Europe, wandless and all.
Personality: Riley's your best friend. It really doesn't matter who you are, where you're from, or what you think of her, somehow, some way, Riley is going to wind up being your best friend. She may as well walk around with a big sticker on her forehead that says, "Hi, I'm Riley. I'm here for you. Wanna talk?" though it'd be pretty useless, considering people already treat her like she were. She doesn't mind, really. She likes being there for people. She likes being able to help. What she'd love, on the other hand…
Good-natured and something of a pushover, Riley will more often than not put herself at an inconvenience for someone else. She hates conflict, and she's rather bad at confrontation, so if there's a way to fix a problem without any actual fighting, she'll do it.
However, this weak will of hers only stretches as far as herself. When it's someone else's battle, she's suddenly full of courage and is more than willing to drop everything to stand up for said someone.
Major Details:
~ never had her first kiss yet, unless you count the times it happened in her head
~ the only one of her sisters not to have dirty blonde hair
~ also the only one of her sisters to have been Sorted into Hufflepuff

WRITING SAMPLE
"Oh, Riley, honey, I went ahead and told your father you'll be spending the Hols with me this year."
"Oh. Thanks, mom." She'll write him a letter first thing and say she just wants to give him more time with work, knowing how stressful the holidays can be on him.
"You don't mind if Bryce joins us, right?"
"Oh. No, of course not. I haven't seen him in ages. How's he been?" She'll make sure to compliment him on his latest extravagant purchase and fawn over his latest adventure.
"Oh, he's been just wonderful. He climbed Mt. Everest, you know? Only using three charms!"
"Three charms? That has to be a world record, mom." She'll be sure not to mention knowing of Muggles who've climbed it without any charms at all.
"I think so. He'll be just so thrilled to tell you. Oh, but do act surprised when he says it, will you? The shock is his favorite part."
"Of course." She'll even clap a little, too.
"Mmhmm. Oh, I like this dress, honey, what about you? I know you've already gotten your Ball gown picked out but this color just suits you so much better, don't you think? It'll be okay, won't it?"
"Of course, mom." It's always okay.
