| Flashback- Mirror of the Ice Cave |
[09 Mar 2013|01:49am] |
It is cold as fuck in here is all Sam could think to himself as he sat in the cave pretending to meditate. Richie had told him that he needed to mediate in the cave on his reflection in the ice till he had a vision. Supposibly the vision would show him his potential and what he could be. He didn't really buy that but with him being in a mystical temple high up in the mountain he should at least try just to get Richard of of his back. Not that he had been able to mediate with it being so fucking cold.
Finally after getting fed up with all of this Sam got to his feet and yelled, "I don't think this is going to work." As he got to his feet he slipped on the ice falling backwards landing hard on the ice. "Fuck," Sam shouted from the ground and that was when he saw it. His reflection in the ice above him. It was different he couldn't quite explain how but he knew it was. When he looked away all of his other reflections in the ice were the same as the one he saw above him.
Sam crawled towards his nearest reflection to get a better look. The him in his reflection he could tell looked a little older and happier though why he couldn't really tell. If anything he looked much more like a real hero than he ever felt or though he looked when ever he saw himself in his gear. Himself as a real honest to goodness hero that's what he saw fighting to protect those who could not protect themselves.
Something about seeing himself like that in his reflection shook him down to his core a lot more than he wanted to admit even to himself. He couldn't explain it but made him feel like he was letting himself down, letting his dad down and most importantly letting Connor down.
Once he had finally shook his attention away from the ice mirror Sam headed out of the cave having finished what he had come there to see. He saw Richard standing not far from the cave practicing a little Tai Chi as he talked to some of the monks there. "So what did you see in there," Richard asked him once he saw that Sam had exited the cave.
"I don't want to talk about it," Was all that Sam would say as he kept on walked heading towards his room to lie down and think or more probably sleep to try and forget about all of this for a little while.
"Very well," Richard says giving him some space, "But remember you can always talk to me about it if you like. You don't have to face this alone if you don't want too."
"Thanks," Sam says only half listening to what Richard had said.
