Xian App [14 Sep 2012|01:58pm]
 Player (nickname, handle)/ LJ: Paul

AIM (if you have one): ulap83@hotmail.com
Character Name: Fang Xian
Character LJ (if applicable): august-heir
Physical description (face, build, weight): 5'11", in good shape but not overly muscular, shoulder length black hair. In armored form his skin shifts into a bronze-colored bio-metal. His hair is covered while in this form. He weighs considerably more when shifted, almost a ton, though he has no trouble moving himself.
Age: 25
Birthday: February 22, 1987
Codename (if using one): August General in Irons (The Lesser, by critics)
PB: (If using one.) Shin Koyamada
Abilities: As a normal human Xian is trained in several Chinese traditional martial arts. He has read Sun Tzu and is familiar with several military strategies. He has the power to shift his skin into a bio-metallic metal which gives him the bulk of his metahuman powers. In this form he has superhuman strength, capable of lifting over 10 tons. He is considerably durable in this form, capable of even surviving against multiple tank assaults. Like his father he wields an energy-staff with which he is skilled as both a physical instrument and in its use as a projectile weapon. He speaks several languages native to China, and also speaks good English, though he sometimes has difficulty understanding its nuances.
Weaknesses and flaws: Xian suffers from a lack of confidence that he can live up to his father, and his reputation as "the Lesser" bothers him deeply. As a result he is eager to prove himself to his nation, and sometimes this overrules his better judgement. Growing up with his patriotic father has filled him with a strong sense of pride of his nation, though this doesn't always translate to faith in the government.  This has given him a feeling of competition with the West, and the United States in particular. In armored form he is somewhat slower than as a human, though he does his best to compensate.
Character location/Home: Bejing, China
Alignment (villain, hero etc): Hero
Team: JLI
Relatives (living/dead?): Fang Zhifu (adopted father, alive), Ghost Fox Killer (adopted mother, alive..sort of)
Backstory: Fang Xian is the adopted son of two of China's premier superheroes, the August General in Irons and the Ghost Fox Killer. Growing up as the son of two celebrated, not to mention unique, heroes created a desire in Xian to do something to live up to his famous parents. He would enlist in the Chinese military, but never felt like it was enough. One day he was approached by officials of the Chinese government to take part in an experiment. The goal was to give someone the ability to control the bio-metal used by the August General, who himself was forced to live with it constantly. Xian agreed to take part in it, believing his father had given his blessing for the experiment.
After a long, and painful procedure, the operation was a success. Xian now had the power to transform his skin back and forth between his normal density to the bio-metal that made up his father's body. However, the government had lied to Xian, the August General had not been consulted and he was furious that his son could have ended up like him. While an uneasy peace was made due to the experiment's success, the Fang family never quite regained its faith in the government, though it maintained loyalty to the Chinese nation. Xian would go on to become a member of the Great Ten, taking his father's place when the elder Fang's armor began to rust with age, making active service more potentially-fatal. Critics of Xian took to calling him "the Lesser", not believing he was a worthy successor to his famous father. This goaded Xian to push himself harder, determined to prove himself a hero to China worthy of his family's legacy.
