→ Bio [29 Dec 2007|08:53am]
On March 14th, 1990, Roxanne and Alan Mitchell welcomed a beautiful (well, that was subjective) baby girl into their home. Weighing seven pounds, three ounces, Cassandra Faith Mitchell came into the world without a peep. In fact, it took the doctor two smacks on her bottom to get the baby to shriek and help the doctors realize that she was, in fact, alive and kicking. The girl was quiet, and tended to shy away from the crowd. Try as they might, going as far as to get her into sports, ballet, tap dancing and music lessons, Cassie just kept inside of her shell as much as possible.

Except around Jenna. Jenna and Cassie met the first day of preschool and were inseparable from that day forward. The girls did everything together. When Cassie's parents put her in ballet, Jenna begged and pleaded to join. When Jenna took swimming lessons at the local public pool on Saturdays, Cassie was in the lane next to her. Jenna was the loudmouth, unafraid to say what she thought, when she thought.

So, it was no shock to either set of parents when Jenna tried out for their school's play their Freshman year and found herself the understudy of a major role. Cassie was devastated. Plays took up a lot of time, and that meant she'd be alone while Jenna was hamming it up with the theater department. Obviously, she couldn't stand for that! It took her a while to get the courage, but she joined the drama club, and signed up for the props committee.

The girls had found their niches. Jenna loved performing, and Cassie quickly became the most reliable techie their school had. When someone needed anything, she had it before they even knew they wanted it. Most plays went off without a hitch, and if they didn't, then she had the first way to fix it. It didn't take long for their drama teacher to name her the honorary assistant stage director, and (after the previous one graduated at the end of Sophomore year) Stage Director.

At the end of their Junior year, the most successful year the theater department had even gone through, Cassie got hit with another blow. Jenna wouldn't be around for their senior year. Her father had landed a major corporate job across the country, and they'd be moving before the end of the Summer. Sure enough, before July had really gotten a chance to get started, Jenna was gone, and Cassie was alone.

Now, it's her Senior year, and Cassie finds herself all alone. Sitting in her bedroom one night, she got to thinking of how lucky Jenna was. To be so open and able to make new friends at the drop of her hat. It'd never come easy to Cassie like it had to her, and, she had to admit, she was jealous. Jealous of the admiring looks she got from the Freshman once they found out she was one of their school's stars. Jealous of the applause she'd gotten at the end of every show. Jealous of her talent.

That night, Cassie made a decision. She was going to try to be more like Jenna. Open. Uninhibited. Fun. And the first step? Making their Senior class play.

♥  Goes by Cassie, Cas, sometimes Sandy
♥  17 // March 14, 1990
♥  Tied for the top spot of their class. Says her goal, since first grade, has been to be Valedictorian of her class.
♥  Coffee junkie. Fell in love with Caramel Frappucinos while trying to stay up late and finish a set the night before opening. Asks only for Starbucks gift cards when her birthday approaches.
♥  Listens to all genres of music except techo and hardcore rap. Favorite, by far, is musical theater, but also loves classic rock and today's modern R&B.
♥  Normally wears contacts unless it is a show night. The stage lights irritate her eyes and she cannot wear them, so she has a pair of black framed glasses for such occasions.
♥  Favorite subjects are biology and English. Thanks to a recommendation of her teacher, she received a place in the National Scholardship Academy of America for excelling in Biology.
♥  Favorite play of all time? Romeo and Juliet. "A classic for a reason." Modern day play: "Spring Awakening."
♥  Favorite singers/bands: Kelly Clarkson, Maroon 5, Queensryche, AC/DC, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, Nickelback and Daughtry. Also loves Three Days Grace and Linkin' Park.
♥  Single, "as always."
♥  Carries a notebook in her hand and pen behind her ear at all times. Hopes to be an author one day, but isn't quite sure what kind. Jots down notes on everyone she meets to use for future references ("Incase I want to make a character like them.")
