( Oh, wow, could 'Army of Ghosts' have *been* any better?! (Slight spoilerz) )
So I went to a fete thing at my old primary school today, and bought a book and a computer game for 50p each. Go me! The book was "Portrait of a Killer" by Patricia Cornwell, which is about Jack the Ripper, and which a bunch of people at school had recommended to me. And the game is called "Of Light and Darkness: the Prophecy"... it's a scary game... seriously, the first thing your see when you start a new game is some freaky evil jack-in-the-box waving in your face with its eyes rolling all over the place.
The plot is about preventing the apocolypse, and the ghostly faces of doomed sinners' souls float around and talk to you... then there are all these objects you have to find to redeem them, and lots of secret passages that lead to even more freaky places... and areas that are sort of shrines to the Seven Deadly Sins. And when you go into them there are voices acting them out, like "I can take over the world" and "I'll kill you" and stuff. Which, being disembodied voices, was really weird and quite unnerving the first time I heard them. It didn't help that the world (and indeed the whole thing) is like some twisted version of Wonderland... oh, and I haven't even touched the fact that this random woman keeps quoting the Bible at me over a PA system, and saying "you are not alone in the Village"... O.o
What an odd game. *shrugs*
Aargh, it's too hot here. ¬_¬ Can't... be bothered... to do... anything... |

My brother's only gone and lost the charger for my (extremely expensive birthday present) video camera. He knows and I know that he was the last one to use it-- but he keeps insisting that I must have moved it somewhere (God knows what my motive is supposed to have been!) and being so bloody patronizing... doing that slow clap and talking to me in his most f**king infuriating baby-voice: "Oh, well done, Caroline!" Aargh! I want to strangle that boy. Not only does he steal from me, but he can't admit when he uses my stuff and then loses it! It's not even as if it's the first time... a while back mum found a ruined tape of mine from the camera hidden in his underwear drawer. And there have been other times. I just wish he would admit to it and make an attempt to find it, instead of glancing briefly in places I've already searched and then saying that I must have lost it!! >.<
(Edited to star out language-- sorry about that.) |
