Usually the Caddisfly makes its protective case with sand, twigs, and other natural materials, but artist Hubert Duprat decided that just wasn't fancy enough. These tiny, shiny sculptures are proof that art can be found pretty much anywhere.
A recent study found that male guppies will often associate with less-attractive male guppies when females are around. "Males actively choose the social context that maximizes their relative attractiveness," the article said. Or, as lead author Clelia Gasparini put it, "If you are surrounded by ugly friends, you look better."
