Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
She's just a little under average height, and willowy thin to the point it almost looks unhealthy. Almost, but not quite. Long legs don't help the thin appearance much.

2. How old is she?
She looks to be in her late teens or early twenties - she can't actually say for sure.

3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch?
She tends to take a relaxed posture, if that makes any sense.

4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
She's healthy, relatively speaking; no illnesses, nothing particularly off...she's got an old injury on her right ankle, though, which acts up on occasion (usually when running or putting too much sudden weight on it).

5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
She moves with the elegance of a crane. Sadly this is hard to recognize with her thick clothes, and even less noticeable during those short moments when her foot acts up, in which case she looks surprisingly similar to a lame duck.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror?
She's very pretty. Not fashion-model beautiful, but there's a natural sort of beauty to her which she doesn't at all recognize in herself.

7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Light and clear.

8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style.
It's a sort of golden-brown, slightly wavy and generally very long (it gets cut sometimes). She wishes it was reddish-orange, but oh well. She never bothers to fix it, so the only time you'll ever see it up is if you fix it for her yourself.

9. What color are her eyes?
Brown. Though she sometimes wishes they were green.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
She makes a strangely pretty bird.

11. What are her chief tension centers?
Her back?

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit?
Casual clothes in the sense that she'll throw absolutely anything on as long as it's comfortable. Her wardrobe is mostly dark, earthy colors, and a good number of her clothes are getting ragged at the edges. She has a pastel rainbow scarf she rather likes.

13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them?
They fit well, if sometimes loose, and she's definitely very comfortable in them.

14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences?
Exactly the same. Why bother to change?

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Briefs? She'd be perfectly happy to go with the other two choices though.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Smooth?

2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate?
She speaks soft and evenly. For the most part, at least. Words come easily, but she doesn't tend to say all that much, and has the occasional habit of parroting people's words.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
Well....perhaps.....I'm not sure.

4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency?
She is fluent in both Sorilian and Lunish.

5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
Occasionally a Lunish word might find its way into her Sorilian speech when she's talking faster than she can think, but she doesn't generally tend to switch.

6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words?
She's impromptu in the sense that she doesn't really think about what she says, but I wouldn't say she's good at it; she probably does need to learn to think before she speaks. When she does, she speaks rather slowly.

7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
Again, she's eloquent but doesn't tend to have anything useful to say. So she's eloquent, but most of it could be tuned out without any problem...She might speak less if gagged or something.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart?
She's actually very intelligent, despite her looks. It's a combination of book-smarts and street-smarts, as she reads a lot of generally useless info but learns a lot from eavesdropping/spending time outdoors. ...She's probably better described as nature-smart than street-smart, though.

2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate?
Deliberate. Definitely.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Intuitive and practical. Or maybe logical and idealistic? She's somewhat spacy, her thoughts jumping around from topic to topic when not being pushed to focus. Despite this, she tends to think very sequentially, and can have trouble imagining step 5 when she's still on step 2.

4. What kind of education has the character had?
She had a proper basic education as a child, and did a lot of self-studying afterwards.

5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about?
Plants. She knows some magic, but not enough to call it expertise. She loves learning more about it, though.

6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert?
She's perfectly friendly!...But she's probably better considered an introvert, as she doesn't try to make friends.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Even-tempered. Incredibly so. It's almost like she's achieved enlightenment or something.

8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
Relaxed, cheerful(ish), friendly...if it's bad people or situations (and I mean really noticeably bad), she might eventually be somewhat wary.

9. Is she more likely to act, or to react?
React.

10. Which is her default: fight or flight?
Neither? Though flight is more likely, unless someone tells her to do otherwise.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
She appreciates jokes if they're obviously jokes. Otherwise she takes all your comments seriously. Pranks are horrible.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them?
Technically, no. Though you might think she's some sort of permanently drugged-up hippie with the way she acts, it's all completely natural. Plus part of it is on purpose.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person?
The day she learned that mandrakes were edible. Also the day her brother broke her brain.

14. What does she fear?
The only thing she fears is fear itself.

15. What are her hopes or aspirations?
To live a happy life? She tends to live in the moment, so there aren't any particular hopes for the future aside from continuing to live comfortably, if not better.

16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her?
The fact that she totally heard your personal secret conversation yesterday. And may possibly be in possession of that incredibly important item you lost a while back.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents.
She loves both her parents, despite the fact she's never met her mother, and her father is loving enough...welcomes her back when she shows up, and all that.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
She has a younger brother. They've been close since childhood, and even after she moved out he still attempts to keep in contact with her - more out of worry than anything.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand?
She's on good terms with her father, and is okay with her father's family...there's an aunt that doesn't like her much though. Not that she cares.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them?
Not really, no. Family's family, friends are friends.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
There is a mermaid she considers to be a very good friend, despite their rare meetings. They met by the beach once, entirely by chance, and both being friendly people in an incredibly empty area, they just happened to chat.

6. Does she have other close friends?
She tends to keep to herself, so no. The boy who volunteers at her apothecary might count though, as he knows a lot of her secrets from working with her, and she doesn't bother hiding anything from him.

7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people?
Easily, in her opinion!

8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends?
That is an incredibly difficult question. After all, she'd protect her brother with her life, but she'd be willing to do the same for a friend as well.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once?
Single.

10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
Nope.

11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest?
She's never had a crush; she had a male friend as a child, but she hasn't seen him for years.

12. What does she look for in a romantic partner?
Someone kind and understanding, who's always ready for a hug.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any?
She'd love to have children! Children are wonderful.

14. Does she have any rivals or enemies?
None that she knows of.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale?
Probably X.

16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her?
She's never seriously thought about it, and never will unless someone specifically asks about it. That probably answers how important it is, too.

17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
What are we turning on and off?...She has a habit of curling up in the blankets and making a sort of blanket cocoon at bedtime.

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type?
July 9th means she's Cancer. Despite not remembering what year she was born in, she does remember being year of the earth horse, hour of the rooster. She's...a little like both, a little like neither. Zodiacs are fun, but you really shouldn't base your life around them.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life?
She's somewhat spiritual, and is entirely willing to believe that there's gods out there somewhere. They don't control her life, but she likes believing animals have souls, and things like that.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
Her personal code is...always help people who might need it, I guess? She does tend to do that a lot. The actual idea of a "personal code" is something she hasn't thought about, but she does try to help whenever she can. If somebody told her not to help someone, or if it was someone dangerous, then that might prevent her from attempting it.

4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
Curious! Incredibly curious. Tolerance comes with it.

5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them?
She is prejudiced towards children; they always get to go first in everything. This may be why her little brother loves her so much. Does she need a reason for this?

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
Comfortable! She's rather good at saving.

2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her?
Her grandparents could possibly have been considered upper-class? But her parents and herself are middle-class, if anything. Sometimes she wonders what it would be like to live in one of those fancy ancient Lumin mansions like the kind you see in pictures, but she's fine with her life as it is.

3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others?
She lives on the second floor of a shop that sells herbal remedies, and also has a secret hideout in the forest a few miles away. The first place is relatively clean, the other is a horrible mess. She's a packrat, you see. She actually likes her hideout more than her house, but she spends more time at home. Nobody's ever seen the hideout.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on?
Books, trinkets, stuffed animals, snacks, more books...

5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else?
The shop she lives in is hers, and so she sells herbal remedies - mainly Chinese, but she does have a few other things in there. She loves her job; that's why she chose it.

6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time?
She likes reading, wandering around, singing children's songs, exploring, looking for more plants (not all the herbs in her shop are pre-bought), and people-watching.

7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
She eats three meals a day! Sometimes two. Or two and a half. It's hard to remember these things until she gets hungry. Alcohol is a definite no (she tried it once and didn't react very well). She likes tea, and dislikes corn.

Associations
Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is her favorite:

1. Color? Brown
2. Smell? That smell you find in Chinese medicine shops (really strong, kinda bitter)
3. Time of day? Sunrise or sunset
4. Season? Fall
5. Book? Wicked Plants: The weed that killed Lincoln's mother & other botanical atrocities. Either that or Grimm's Fairy Tales.
6. Music? Traditional - the kind with animal skin drums and flutes and wild dancing.
7. Place? Forest
8. Substance? ...Cloth?
9. Plant? Tigerlily
10. Animal? Bird!

END
{{ Get the HTML here so you can do it yourself. }}

This near-isolation is also the reason why he's snobbish, arrogant and almost completely lacking in social skills; the only visitors they ever got were rude (and possibly corrupt) government officials once a year or so. The boy does have manners, but this politeness is rarely exhibited towards anyone that isn't his teacher; when it is, it's likely to be in a sarcastic or grudging manner. He was talkative once, too, even playing pranks on the few visitors that came to his home; but getting thrown into a new place with new people to fight a war he'd never seriously thought about has made him a lot more quiet and withdrawn than before. Despite the cold demeanor he tries to put up, though, Luc really does care about what goes on around him, and can be incredibly loving towards those he considers to be family, even if the ways in which he shows this love can be a little skewed. For example, when a young Sarah accidentally breaks a candle stick in the tower, Luc breaks all the rest and takes the blame for her, and when she can't sleep at night he keeps her company until he's made sure she's alright. According to Viki years later, while he refuses to go on a picnic with her he does make an attempt at an excuse for it, and ultimately gives her the impression that he is a nice person.

Luc is also very determined - one might even say stubborn. When he's given an important task, no matter how much he complains he won't give up until it's finished. This can have its good and bad points, as evidenced by his later plot to destroy his rune (and himself in the process) 'for the sake of humanity.' Admittedly at the age of 12 none of that plotting has happened yet, but the determination is still there, and may be part of the reason he stays with the army to the very end of the war. It's a combination of stubbornness and loyalty, really; not wanting to disappoint Leknaat, and eventually also because he grew to care somewhat about the other people in the army, he stayed, through thick and thin, until the final battle was won.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Luc is a strong-willed, stubborn individual who refuses to give up once he's decided to do something. He cares a lot for the people close to him, though it's hard to actually gain this closeness, and will do quite a lot if he thinks it will ensure their happiness. He's also very intelligent and good at studying, so it shouldn't be too hard for him to learn about Pokemon. As for physical strengths, he's light on his feet...but otherwise a complete weakling, without his magic.

Aside from being a physically weak mage, Luc is antisocial, rude and childish. He can hold years-long grudges, like his apparently eternal hatred of Harmonia, its bishops and Sasarai in particular, though it isn't impossible to soften those grudges either. He's unwilling to open up to people and tends to give mean and sarcastic remarks to people he doesn't respect (or refuses to admit respect to).

Pokémon Information
Affiliation: Breeder
Starter: Spearow
Password: Taco Bell???

Samples
First Person Sample: --is this thing? [There's the sound of a few buttons being pressed, before the video feed clicks on to show a curious little boy staring at the screen.] Huh. That's sort of weird. [His investigation is interrupted by a spearow fluttering up onto his head; he irritatedly brushes it off with a muttered "Stop that!" but manages only to relocate it to his shoulder, a compromise he grudgingly accepts. Back to fiddling with the pokégear then.]

...It'd be nice if I got a map instead of whatever this is. And you too, while I'm at it. [Spearow makes a strangely sarcastic-sounding noise at that. Obviously this is a cue to continue talking to it! While pressing random buttons again.] Well, it's not like you can talk or anything, so you can't exactly say you're helpful right now. Unless you can find a map somewhere--[Oops, turned it off.]

Third Person Sample: It had been two days since he'd left that strange town, and already Luc was running out of food. Did that woman really think he'd survive on just one lunchbox and a tiny bag of snacks? And it wasn't as if he could hunt or anything, either--at least, he'd never tried. The thought actually made him pause for a moment, considering the idea, his spearow flying heedlessly ahead. It'd have to be the bird doing the hunting though, wouldn't it? It wasn't as if he had his magic, or any sort of weapon. But maybe he could--

At this moment a rattata ran out from the tall grass, and whatever idea he'd thought of was immediately discarded. Who'd ever want to eat rats? Ew. And aside from the birds and plant-things and giant squirrels, that was all he'd seen so far. The fact that they were kind of cute and rather harmless had nothing to do with it. No, hunting was a bad idea no matter what the reasons were, so it would probably be better to just hurry and get to the next town. There'd be food there, and a monster-free place to sleep and - maybe even a way home! That last one was ridiculous and he knew it.

Nevertheless--the grumpy little boy trudged onwards, kicking rocks and occasionally deigning to look around at the scenery. He wasn't admiring it, of course. He wasn't excited or curious or any other sort of childish thing like that. Just because he rarely got to go out didn't mean he liked this! Not at all. There hadn't been a single shred of satisfaction in his voice when his spearow had trounced that sentret the day before, and any pauses in his journey to examine a particularly pretty flower or to sneak up on an unsuspecting pokémon had been for...perfectly good reasons. Really.

It was nice to be somewhere peaceful for once, though; at the very least, he'd admit to that.
