BASICS

FULL NAME Cormac Julius McLaggen.
NICKNAMES He likes to pretend he is "the original c-mac!", but that is just because he is often high on marijuana. Nicknames are not appreciated by him otherwise. His parents named him Cormac, not Corm, not Mac, and certainly not "Cormy Baby" (fucking bints). He rather likes how strong and masculine Cormac sounds. It just sounds fierce! It's a good name to say you got beat up in his mind. "Cormac took the mick out on me!" See? It just sounds right. He has all sorts of 'lad' nicknames with his mates that range from mildly stupid to outright in their chav nature. Just put him in a tracksuit and call him the macdaddy. Outside of his gang of hoodlums he will crisply reprimend anyone who dares to refer to him as anything other than Cormac. Do not even try.
AGE Seventeen.
BIRTHDATE August 13th.
BIRTHPLACE Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, Europe, Northern Hemisphere, the World, the Earth, the Solar System, the Milky Way Galaxy, this side of the Universe, the Universe, etc. Although born in Aberdeen, Cormac lived and grew up in the suburb to the west of it known as Cults. Cults is, as he will tell you, the second wealthiest city in Scotland, but! That's hogwash. It's number one, thanks. His family lives in Cults, surprising, not just for their money, but the proximity to the neighbour village Bieldside. Why Bieldside? It has Murtle Estate, a school geared for "curative education". What is that? His older brother, Gavin, has autism. This is a heavily guarded secret and Cormac, for as terrible of a prat he is, is fiercely protective of his sibling for as much as he hates himself for having heavy distaste for Gavin's disability (more on this later, I promise). Murtle Estate's proximity is why they live in Cults, making it easy to commute Gavin back and forth from school.
HOUSE/YEAR Gryffindor, Year Thirteen.
SOCIAL STATUS Filthy rich and fabulous, thank you, moving on. Yeah, right. Cormac doesn't move on from his wealth; he flaunts it and he flashes it. Augustus McLaggen, father to one C. McLaggen, is part owner of McLaggen House, best known for being the first publishing house in Scotland INCLUDING printing the first edition of the bible to be released in Scotland. Intellectual despots, the McLaggen family has always been firmly entrenched in high society since the black plague. Augustus will inherit the the title of "Sir" when his father, Claudius, passes on. Nevertheless, the McLaggen name is associated with the brilliant and the brightest. Their connections have been famous authors and playwrights, painters and poets, nobility and historians: all have in common their genius and fortunes. McLaggen House is still family run and is helmed by the formidable business genius Claudius with his two sons, Augustus and Titus. Cormac has been raised with a silver spoon stuffed in his mouth and a gold fork in his bum. He knows he is wealthy and he enjoys speaking highly of what he can afford cos there is nothing he cannot have. This is not entirely true, as it were. Cormac is on a strict budget from his father who has found his spending habits to be gross and disgusting for a straight male. Who can spend that much on hair product and shoes?! As Augustus said, "only a homosexualist, son!" and therein began the joke of "homosexualist" between Cormac and his laddie mates. He is not gay, just disturbingly metrosexual in his love for Dior. While he is still given a considerable bit of petty cash to parcel out for his mates on contraband substances (he is a preferred abuser of scotch, the man's drink he will have you know), he does not have in his personal account the amount he likes to taunt people with him having. For example, he cannot just go out and buy a pony anymore. Don't ask why this has to be mentioned.

i hate everything about you
PERSONALITY

FIRST IMPRESSION "He looks ever so sweet doesn't he, Dolly?" "Don't say that, May, he will ever so sweetly say wham bam thank you ma'am and not even give you a drop of his whiskey as a bit of compensation for the shag!"

With four keywords I hope to outline the dysfunctional personality of a dysfunctional boy. Continue,

SMARMY. Excessively suave to the point of being unpleasant, Cormac is educated in the social graces. He is well bred, well read, and well spoken. His education is impeccable, his charm is on overdrive, and he hobknobs and schmoozes with the very top of British society. There is an undercurrent of a Don Lothario that runs in Cormac and it is not necessarily confined just to girls in his appropriate age bracket. When he needs something from someone or they can be particularly useful, Cormac turns the charm on in full force, schmoozing from people information and trust (which he will inevitably abuse). If he doesn't need someone? His suaveness is blatantly rude and mocking towards the individual, usually manifested in speaking down to them and making fun of them with humorous quips. He is, for lack of better word, a jerk. Cormac is typically always on, but it benefits a seventeen year old boy. He fits in well with the other boys in his year, entertaining them with stories and jokes that are uncouth and raunchy. While he is well behaved and sweet in the right company (those of his parents friends), he turns all of that off while at school. The thing about being smarmy is that Cormac knows how to treat certain people and when parts of his personality are permissible. He is a social chameleon in that respect. His reputation among the uppercrust is of a fine society lad with excellent skills in speaking and a vast arsenal of knowledge in philosophy, business, and literature (per requirement of being a McLaggen). He doesn't need to climb the social ladder as his family sits comfortably at the top, but he knows he has to maintain it. People are bargaining chips and Cormac realises he is nothing less. There is no sadness or distress with this as some might have. He is content and keen with knowing he has parts to play depending on the situation and he has taken swimmingly to such as he matures and grows up.

USER. Cormac is a user and a abuser. Everything in his life can be replaced for the right price when he needs it. People and things are all utterly disposable, with few exceptions. He'd never trade his family or best friends in, nor his irish wolfhound dog, Merlin. Still. Everyone has a special function in his life and he treats people like such. What can you do for Cormac McLaggen? The irony is he refuses to do the same for someone else. It's not a win-win situation with Cormac. It's a win for him and a loss for the other. When he tires of things and people he simply throws them aside. This is not to assert Cormac is not a good friend or loyal because he certainly is, to a point where he takes loyalty bonds a bit obsessively. Family is what matters to Cormac, easily identifiable in that his entire life up to now has depending on what his family name has done for him, and his close friends are considered to be his family by choice. It's no doubt he'd take a bullet for those he is closest to and he is giving, open, and kind to the other boys in his years. None of his friends are left without wanting, which is surprising considering how much he takes from other people. He takes from certain people while giving everything to others. It's cruel, really, but to those he treats well it is hard to find a poor word to say about him. Cormac also has an addictive personality. He becomes set in his ways (notable in how he thinks everything he does is perfect and that is poop smells like roses) and refuses to deviate from his schedule. Change is rued in him. He is an addict to everything remaining as he knows and he crashes when his ways are challenged. Cormac is prone to grudges and he never forgets things that have happened. Likewise, he becomes easily infatuated and fixated on different things. An alcoholic in training, Cormac does everything to extremes and to be the best. He can drink everyone under the table and he will drink himself to near poisoning to prove this. When he hunts with the big lads he enthusiastically pursues so he has the shot, he has the kill, he has to look the best, he has to be number one, he has to be unbeaten. There is an intoxication to feeling on top of the world Cormac cannot shake.

CONFIDENT. There is a fine line between cocky and confident and Cormac is constantly doing the rumba over it. Yes, he is cocky, but it isn't a coverup like most people have. Cormac is truly confident in himself. He knows he is better than you. He is aware he is spectacular at everything from rugby to academics (which is why he absolutely cannot handle rejection and it sends him off the handle into screaming matches of emotional abuse that end in sulks in his dormitory). No one can tell him differently that he is the male version of Mary Poppins. He is Cormac McLaggen, practically perfect in every way! Still, the distinction between confident and cocky is important. Cormac presents a rather raucous and awful persona, but underneath, he's got a heart of gold that shines for a very select few (mostly Sloper and his family). Why show that, though? He believes in himself. He doesn't need to tell other people that. The importance of such confidence, though, is that he is able to translate easily into being an absolute ass because he doesn't give a flip what other people think of him. He speaks his mind (which he knows is right - people have never told him he isn't right, mollycoddled boy!) robustly, is largely outgoing, and insults people freely and offensively. Cormac does not have a censor button and it stems from his confidence that everything he does is morally superior and correct. In his opinion? He doesn't make mistakes. Cormac's confidence also manifests in how fired up he can become in defense of the few people he truly does like. His judgment of character is manifest and he passes that belief that he made the right choice of friends into those people. When Cormac McLaggen believes in something or someone? He does so passionately and with every fiber in him.

MACHIAVELLIAN. Cormac McLaggen would be an excellent chess player if he did not find the game for utter douchebags. He regards all people around him as pawns to achieve what he wants out of life. People who are above or below him in age or social status (although few are above him in social status; his family is, afterall, quite chummy with the prime minister, thank you very much) can all serve certain purposes and it is his mission to find how to move them about to maximize the potential he can take from someone. People are assets to him, easily bargained, utterly disposable, and completely replaceable as soon as someone who can offer more comes along. This would not seem a Gryffindor trait, as the ambitious seem to end in Slytherin, but Cormac is foolhardy and ruled by his emotions underneath his veneer of excellence with manipulation. Once he does become close to someone he is blinded and unable to eliminate them from his master plan. Instead, he has to factor them into his life. For an example? See Sloper, Jack. While loyalty does run deep in Cormac, he is able to differentiate between who he is loyal to and who he can use to better his position. Cormac believes, as well, it is better to be feared than loved and it is with a slightly rude manner he has succeeded in creating a veritable band of younger students who worship him. He keeps them as his personal "army" so to speak and graces them with presents and praise when they do his dirty work for him. Cormac keeps his hands clean of things as the last thing he wants is a scandal from his youth to taint his reign as head of McLaggen House (or as a politician, which he is entertaining). Still, Cormac is brilliant at understanding people and it is with that very keen insight to people he is able to smarm his way into their hearts and affections for as long as he needs them. It's just he often fails and ends up liking people back.

QUIRKS/HABITS Cormac sleeps exactly six hours a night. He will not get up before and he will not sleep more than an half an hour over. He feels sluggish if he gets more and if he receives less he is even more of a living nightmare. He claims six hours saves him two extra hours of his life, which adds up into extra years. He got this from a book. He collects pervy magazines that he parcels off to the younger boys at Hogwarts. As a contraband subject material, he keeps them in pristine condition until they are sold and at which point he never, ever, ever wants to see them again. He runs a considerable black market with them, but who'd ever believe it? He's a top level student and a legacy. Cormac often slurs his words when he is excited. It makes him sound like a lovable stroke addict. A gambler to the extreme, Cormac cannot resist a bet and has placed money on ridiculous things ranging in how long it'd take him to shag a girl, which of his friends has the most game, and how many firsties they could trip in an hour.

LIKES Getting absolutely hammered and not remembering the stupid mistakes he makes in the morning. Betting and gambling. If he can put money on it, he will. It's the rush that gets him. The idea he might lose, which he won't, cos he is Cormac McLaggen. Aberdeen F.C. is his true love and if only he was good at footie, but stupid, stupid, stupid Weasley stole his goalkeeper position meant for him. Whatever, he will just stay with his openside flanker position. It's just. He's so good at ruggers. Things come naturally to Cormac, but not his GK position and money can't buy that, which is ridiculous!
10 LIKES Philosophical debates and arguments, the works of Adam Smith, the capitalist form of government, flouting authority when possible, horses of the highest breeds and standards, the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club (for both playing and finally generally better than most), William Wallace and Scottish history as a general rule of thumb, setting his life out in five year plans, imported tea (which he will never admit), fox hunting with prominent people, Dior Homme shoes, tailored Valentino suits, the Sex Pistols, Professor Horace Slughorn (cos he treats Cormac like royalty), duffing up the first formers, keeping close friendships with the nerds to force them into doing his homework when he is so inclined to not complete it himself, art history with a specific emphasis in abstraction, Pablo Picasso, girls who wear baby powder, having impromptu fencing matches with his Burberry umbrella, pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain.
DISLIKES France, the French people, French food, and most of all fuckin' berets. France is gay, in general, and therefore he must hate all things French on principle. Except the girls. The ones who shave get a pass, but only for a night, at most. MAYBE TWICE. Cormac is also terrified, utterly, of people are overweight. He is unforgiving with fat people and is mercilessly mean. As he is part of team Easy E, he has a bit of dislike for the rest of NWA cos they were not having his back and mates means having someones back! He hates having his hair cut and loathes the dentist. Someone with shears near his head freaks him out as does anyone having their fingers in his mouth.
10 DISLIKES Ronald Weasley and the entire lot of that "clan", unkempt people (invest in a comb and take a shower, please), sweets of all kinds, taking his tea with milk in it (it's an aberration), France and all things in association thereof with the country, movies made of Russian literature (poorly done and a disrespect to the genius of literature from Russia), modern pop music (quite especially that newfangled girl group), wasting time watching the telly, having to catch a cab in London, being stuck in a vehicle with his brother, the word "retard", being beaten out for something he wants, anyone with more than 5% body fat as a general rule, the birthmark on his chin (cheers genetics), people who chase their alcohol with juice or soda, American lack thereof culture, Claude Monet, western movies, cheap wine, having to wait in a queue (he is Cormac McLaggen, he deserves a VIP line), people who think they understand Adam Smith, communists and socialists, Karl Marx, people who have ethics in business, lower master Albus Dumbledore cos he is probably gay (c'mon I HAD TO!).

FEARS Cormac is terrified of losing his senses. I mean? Touch! He wouldn't know someone was fat that he was shagging! Sight?! SHE MIGHT BE UGLY. There isn't a sense he'd like to lose. He is also afraid of losing his money. It's all that really, truly matters to him. Cormac is in a relationship with the pound. If he could get off with it, he would. The idea he could be poor is absolutely the most fearful thing. He'd rather be dead than middle class. Cormac is also scared to absolute utter death of snakes.

APPEARANCE

HEIGHT Taller than most, Cormac stands at 6'2, nearly 6'3. He is too tall to jocky, which is why he has become such a polo enthusiast.
WEIGHT Sinewy is a spectacular word for him. He is all lean muscle, which makes him well suited for the sports and positions he plays within. His frame is broad, but on the slender side of a boy; however, that is only when seen dressed fully. His legs are nearly all muscle, which is almost strange, but it comes from years of running and riding.
VOICE Cormac has a very thick Scottish brogue. It's quite melodic and soothing and perhaps the one truly charming thing he has going for him if people ignore what it is that he is actually saying! He speaks slow and measured, often in a drawl that sounds as if he is speaking down to someone - which he probably is. The pretentious lilt to his voice is without fail to miss and it cants his low voice into a sweeter sound, surprisingly. He speaks very cultured and it's obvious from the crisp manner in which he delivers his points that he is well bred and well off, no doubt a member of very high society.
OVERALL Characterized with an air of haughtiness, Cormac is a young man who is confident in himself. Personality, whether it is one that is enjoyed or ought to be debated, is etched into the fine, defined lines of his pointed, elfin features. Tall and lissome, he is built with a sinewy polish and he carries himself with a smug felinity. His cinnamon-shaded hair is kept well kept and short, fit to minimize the angular quality to his forehead and soften the square shape to his face. The shade of brown is light and peppered with blonde streaks brought on from the time he spends outside. His eyes are slanted and narrow, giving him a look of perpetual mischief that is matched with the sleek upturn of his Roman nose. Cerulean in colour, his vision fades from bright to pale depending on his mood. His face is harsh in his structure, with a petulantly curved plump of a mouth, and high cheekbones that remain constantly flushed from activity. Tenderized by his droopy mouth, his jaw is sharp and curved neatly, forming into a narrow chin that rises defiantly. The line of his nose is contoured with a fluid bridge and wider nostrils that seem to flare with annoyance unfailingly. On the underside of his chin there is a large birthmark, which he is absolutely obsessed with. If he could have it removed, he would; as he finds it to be rather unattractive. There are those who would say it gives him distinction, but he finds it otherwise mars his rather perfect face. Cormac is aware he is a rather good looking bloke and he uses this to his advantage, but it is this same awareness that diminishes the fact he is attractive. His cockiness about his looks seems to radiate from him, often turning people off to him.
STYLE Cormac dresses for success, to put it into hip jargon! He lets his clothes speak for him, showcasing his wealth when his vocals cannot. His closet is full of the casual prep found in skinny ties, finely woven cardigans, plaid button downs from Ralph Lauren, and a vast collection of Dior shoes. It is possible Cormac has more shoes than the the Queen of Manila. He is keen on the "sport" look of the uppercrust with his pressed khakis and matching attire. He is rather freakish about keeping his shoes shined, polishing them frequently and at the slightest hint of a scuff. With the lads, however, he wears an awful heap of hip hop infused clothing. This means his designer jeans are slung low and his hoodies and zip-ups are worn oversized. The one item that does not change is the shark tooth necklace that he wears. It is anchored on a leather strand by two solid silver beads. He will not divulge where it came from or why it is important to him.
PLAYBY Matt Benstead, oh please, oh please! He's not outlandish for a model, I promise!

all goes out the window
SCHOOL

COURSES

AREA OF FOCUS Philosophy. He has been accepted into Oxford where he plans on studying a double in business and philosophy. He is most keen on Adam Smith and wants to do a focus on philosophy in business and the role of ethics when applied to the model of capitalism. Cormac is a legacy at Oxford, as well, which helped secure his spot there despite his less than stellar marks in the courses he fucked off in and didn't consider to be of his interest; notably, the sciences, where his distaste for Professor Snape came into play. He's a load of a pompous philosopher and for as much as he does know, he is keen to pretend he knows more than he does about certain topics and can come off as self-righteous at best and stupid at worst. Nevertheless, he got into Oxford, nya-nya-nya.

CLUBS He is attempt to start a hip hop appreciation society, but it is yet unapproved.
SPORTS Rugby, where he is the openside flanker for both Gryffindor and the school team in the Michaelmas term. During the lent term he is a champion polo player as #3. In summer, he and his father play golf where they have happily won the founders tournament two of the last four years including the last year.

RELATIONSHIPS

SEXUALITY Heterosexual. Cormac is blatantly heterosexual. A well documented heterosexual. A bit of a playboy, he uses his wealth, moderate good looks, and charm (however obnoxious it may be when he doesn't choose to use it to its advantage) to seduce his project pet for the term. He cycles his girl by the season and is seen with someone new by the next hols break. He seems to always split with a girl prior to a major holiday. No one but Jack has ever received a chrimboli pressie from him and Jack remains the only person to receive a valentine from Cormac, even if it was uncouth, rude, and called Jack's "laddie" wee and teensy.
STATUS Happily single. Cormac? Relationship? Ha.
CRUSH Eugenie Gamp will always be the one person who can turn his head and who he treats with respect. This both out of understanding they exist on a similar sphere, but also on a very personal note that he might really like her.
PAST RELATIONSHIPS TBA.
FRIENDSHIPS Jack Sloper is his best mate. The rest? TBA!

but then i got high
BACKGROUND

BIRTH AND FORMATIVE YEARS "I HATE YOU SO MUCH RIGHT NOW!" The preceding words were screamed quite loudly at one Augustus C. McLaggen as his wife shouted her way through the birth of their second son and second child so soon after the arrival of the first. Sasha (nee Ogden) McLaggen was not prepared for the second birth so soon to follow and told her husband just how she felt about it, but then that has always been Sasha. An ornament for any man of high society, the marriage and union of Augustus and Sasha was as much about finances and standing as it was for love. Sure, they got along right away, but then they always felt they must since their families had decided long before they would come to terms with it that they were all right to be married. Growing up, Sasha and Augustus were constant companions and scheduled for play-dates and romps, all in hopes they'd get on right and sure enough they did. After graduating Hogwarts together (both generations into their legacies), they were announced engaged on Sasha's eighteenth birthday in the summer and married in the spring of the next year. For as much as it was for convenience there was an emotional attachment between the pair and Cormac Julius was born with love in his family even if the first words his wee ears heard were "bleeding wanker". The second of two sons, it was the unfortunate dealing of genetics that led to Cormac being the "chosen" son. Gavin, his elder sibling of a tender year, had shown strange signs that'd be diagnosed as autism when Cormac was still a toddler. Immediately, favour shifted from the first born to the second son and Cormac was given the treatment of young royalty while his brother was shunted between expensive caretakers and sent to special schools. The diagnosis of Gavin so young into Cormac's formative years remains a turning point for him. He grew up watching his brother treated with the kid gloves of distaste amongst deep love. Family has always been the most important thing to a McLaggen, but Gavin has always been seen as damaged and unfit for their society. While even in the present Gavin is spoiled and treated well, there is a sense of embarrassment the family has over their less than perfect child. While Augustus and Sasha spent their time cultivating a life for Gavin he could enjoy and sending him to the top doctors Cormac was entrusted to the care of governesses and overpaid 'child' tutors to prepare him for his education at Hogwarts. By the time he was four he was in consistent 'classes' being taught Latin, shown science, and basic mathematics as well as hourly reading drills. Cormac was to be given the keys to the kingdom. The only son of Augustus and his brother, Titus (who had four girls, what a pity!), Cormac, at the age of five stood to inherit all of McLaggen House later in his life.

CHILDHOOD The knowledge that Cormac was the eventual CEO to be of McLaggen House shaped his childhood. He did not have one. His time was spent at posh primary schools geared to manipulating the young mind into brilliance. There was no price tag attached to this and his parents poured thousands of dollars into his top of the line early education. While his neighbor boys were allowed to play footie, Cormac was in a stuffy classroom counting numbers and practicing his penmanship. This is not to say he missed out entirely, as he took a keen interest in equestrian related events: specifically, polo. He was six when he accompanied his father to his first match and the love affair began. Cormac was allowed to participate in sanctioned sports and activities as deemed appropriate by Augustus and society. He took golf lessons and learned to play squash, as well as tennis, riding, and hunting. His first fox was shot at eight and he bagged his first do at ten, but then again Cormac has always been ahead of the curve. It was with such pompous treatment he was given that Cormac developed his 'me first' and superior 'holier-than-thou' personality. He's never been given rejection and has always been treated with an impeccable air of importance since he was young and it has instilled in him a lack of concern for taking what he deems his. He came, within time, to see him as better than his neighbor children and refused to play with them when asked, considering only who his parents arranged playdates for him with. With hopes Cormac would be placed in Ravenclaw, his parents drilled the importance of education into him as it was fitting he'd be go on to take over the literary and business pursuits of his family's company. It is why when Cormac was sent to Hogwarts it was such a surprise he was part of Gryffindor house. Really? Proud, if a bit of a smarmy jerk about it, and deeply courageous, Cormac fit in with Gryffindor, if surprisingly. At first, Cormac did not get on with the other boys in his year, but a quick duffing up incident changed his attitude entirely. After seeing the other boys joke and interact he realized what he had missed as a child, friends, and he took swimmingly to giving them a chance. He remains only devoted to the boys of his year and house, treating them as the brothers he missed out on. Away from his parents and the pressure, he looked the atypical eleven year old and remains the atypical teenage male with a roving eye and a sly sense of humor.

SCHOOL Once at Hogwarts, Cormac began to develop deeper into who he is today. Without his parents watchful and imposing eye, he has run a bit loose. A general nightmare to deal with, Cormac considers himself above the law. H is flippant and without concern for his behavior and has been known to show up to class in his dressing gown when he feels. An uncle in the parliament, a great-aunt on the board of governors for the school, and a cousin in the ministry for education, Cormac flouts authority and lets it be known who he is: a damned legacy. Bright and wolfishly so, he has excelled at the courses he considers important while scraping by in those he does not care for. A stellar student in philosophy, Cormac became fascinated with Adam Smith early in his school career and remains ever devoted to the Scot. He is a fanatic for business philosophy and hopes to study ethics in capitalism and laissez faire in practice. Keeping his record pristine, Cormac has learned how to get away with most things that he does that toe the line of proper behavior. He's a bit of a swot at school for lack of better word. His friendship with his housemates in his year is the most important thing to him and with Jack he feels he has a best mate who he can be himself with. Their fascination with 'gangsta' culture is a bit much at times, but mostly for a laugh. He has grown from a tender eleven year old to a king of the school (in his opinion) with underlings in the younger years, a trail of broken hearts, and a widespan of 'frenemies' who he uses for access to homework, contraband materials, and general fucking around with. A purveyor of pervy goods, Cormac is one of the ringleaders of the black market at the school running an operation with tits and ass magazines, alcohol, and gambling. It has indeed made him fairly popular to his face while most people think privately he is overbearing and conceited, as well as pretentious, pompous, and a bit of a nancy. Famously mouthy, Cormac is active and loud in the classroom, always purporting his right (which, duh, he totally is), loud and active in sports (except footie, we do not talk about footie, ever! He has CONSISTENTLY been shut out for the goalkeeper position, which he is DAMN good at - ok, he isn't, but he thinks he is) where he is top player for polo and an excellent ruggers player, and loud and active around campus. Who doesn't know Cormac McLaggen? The real question is who wants to know him. People don't have a choice. Away from school, Cormac is genial, schmoozing, and generally well behaved, living up impeccably to the expectations of his surname. He treats his professors with the same rather smarmy manner and is well liked among the faculty for being a clever and insightful boy. Unlike others who hide how bright they are, Cormac is rather overbearing about shoving it down the throats of people, which makes it look as if he overcompensates, which he is doing. Nonetheless, he is the standard seventeen year old boy with too much money who is looking forward to doing everything his parents expect and with style.

Accepted into Oxford, he is preparing to follow the footsteps of his father and study business with a double in philosophy. And yes, his mother? Sasha Ogden? Her family is the inventor of Ogden's firewhiskey. He is double rich.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS Cormac is no doubt the only Gryffindor who is supportive of Voldemort, Inc. He is rather keen on Tom Riddle and agrees with most of the projects Voldemort, Inc. endorses. He wouldn't mind going into business with them and is quite proud his family's publishing house has taken to publishing most of the Voldemort, Inc. propaganda. While he isn't aware Riddle is the owner of Voldemort, Inc. he firmly supports and agrees with the prime minister's decisions regarding the governing of his country, but then he is a a conservative capitalist and what else is Riddle? He stands alone in that fanaticism of Riddle and has learned talking politics with his house is utterly hopeless.

INSIDE SCOOP
When Cormac needs to unwind and relax he colors. In a coloring book. Of Star Wars. At least it isn't so bad as having a Teddy Ruxpin one, or something, to be fair. There is something soothing about spending his time filling in between lines that gives him dimension. He is no Renoir, but he is at least within the lines and knows how to shade. There is another reason for the book to be Star Wars. Gavin's favourite movies are the Star Wars series and each time he completes a picture, Cormac mails it home for his brother. Gavin's room is decorated not with posters, but with completed pages Cormac has colored for him. He only does this when he is alone and will not be disturbed. His coloring book is locked in its own briefcase buried underneath a stack of things in his ever locked trunk.

Cormac is a massive part of the contraband black market at school. Especially as the purveyor of pervy materials. Ah, the lads he has helped get off! He has an entire collection of raunchy magazines that run the gamut of fetishes and interests. Each one is packaged and wrapped in a cover that seems innocent and is sold having never been used. Cormac himself does not need the aid of a magazine, but considering his father is a publisher, it's quite easy to filch and smuggle them in. He has made a good buck for himself doing such. As part of the black market, he also hosts the annual term poker match where only the most exclusive of boys are invited and the opening bids are no less than 100. Winner take all he is the orchestration behind it and helps all involved find their excuses to be there for the all night binge of poker and booze on campus.

Cormac is absolutely abhorrent of having his picture taken. When he was a child he was told it stole his soul and he has never gotten over it. When people try he does his best to shuffle out of it without looking like a tool. For as positive as he is about how fantastic he is, it's strange he refuses to let people capture his moments. Most pictures of him are either of a slack-jawed blank expression of half terror and disgust or completely candid.

While Cormac comes off as big and bad the sheer idea he could be in a fight fucking puts him into a tizz. He is too concerned with his face and hair to actually throw a punch. It might get blood on his Dior shoes! GET AWAY BEASTS! His rather large mouth has got him into trouble and when the brawls break out, he gives it the slip. When asked why he isn't all bloodied he just remarks he is that good and points to some random who is knocked out taking credit for it cos in the heat of a fight who knows who beat someone up?

He knows the full lyrics to boyz in the hood and consider it his and Jack's theme song. However, he also knows the complete lyrics for the Beatles (as they are his favourite, which would take away from his street credibility) and is prepared to serenade Eugenie Gamp with 'All you need is love' if it meant he could get into her knickers. Ass.

Cormac has an older brother and a younger sister. His older brother, Gavin, is eighteen and due to turn 19. He also has autism. Cormac is fiercely protective of this fact and has not divulged to anyone at Hogwarts except for Jack. It's always been a curious thing why Gavin didn't come to Hogwarts as a legacy, but the McLaggen family has argued that Gavin wanted to spend his years abroad. Quite ashamed of the "failure" of their son, Augustus and Sasha have hidden Gavin away. He's a mar on their perfect family. They still love Gavin, but he isn't conducive to their life of parties and wealth. This sort of shame has coloured Cormac and while he loves and will do anything for his brother, he is afraid to tell anyone at Hogwarts about it lest they mock Gavin. Cormac does everything for Gavin when he is home, perhaps to make up for how afraid he is of the condition his brother suffers from, and while at school he often sends Gavin information and news from Hogwarts. The routine of leaving for school is always a mess as Gavin screams about not being able to go and with the brothers so close in age, Cormac has always felt he was left out of having a built in best friend cos his little brat of a tenth former sister just can't cut it. Cormac would disregard his fear of a fight to beat the living snot out of anyone who ever said something about Gavin and he is well known for getting rather testy about people using the term 'retard'. It's an area of conflict for Cormac and his family that they are working on. His sister has a notoriously large mouth, the little gossip, so it is likely news will spill sooner or later and Cormac's perfect life at Hogwarts will be spoiled a litle.

hey jude!
