History: Lyle was born the second child to Carly Bigsby and her boyfriend Ben Chandler. Ben was killed in a drive by shooting and Carly abandoned the two children Genevieve and Lyle in her trailer when they were still very young. Lyle does not remember this at all but his sister remembers little bits of it. They were adopted by the Grant family, along with their own son Cody, they had adopted four other children; Helen, Ophelia, Randy, and Tanner. Lyle’s family life was pretty average when he was growing up until his adopted father died. When his adopted father died things started going downhill. Lyle, a compulsive liar, started acting out more often and telling worse and worse lies. His mother’s mind started to deteriorate and she started treating all the children like they were a burden. She said some really terrible things to Lyle, leading him to depression. He tried to kill himself one night and was rushed to the hospital by his sister Ophelia. After staying in the hospital for a few weeks he returned to his life and did his best to get on with life. His mother was diagnosed with cancer and regardless of all the terrible things she had said to him, he went spent time with her. She was even worse to him. When she died Lyle felt a strange sense of release but still there was an emptiness in his heart. A few months later his niece became very sick and needed a bone marrow transplant, she couldn’t get it from her mother Genevieve as she was pregnant. Lyle and Tanner both went into the hospital to see if they could help the little girl, it turned out that Lyle was a match and they could use his bone marrow to help Ana. She survived the procedure and Genevieve gave her son Lyle’s name as his middle name to show her appreciation. Lyle has been doing his best to stop lying, he started with little things and worked his way up to bigger things. He hasn’t lied in over two and a half years. He works as a café barista at a law firm and is still trying to figure out what he wants in life.
History: Tanner was born an only child of a teenage mother, she gave him up at birth because she knew she wouldn’t be able to give him the life he deserved. He was raised by the Grant family and had a pretty happy childhood. All was well and good for Tanner until he came out to his family. His mother, who was dying, disowned him as did his eldest sister. As a teenager is was hard for Tanner to be who he really was and make friends, let alone relationships. The one relationship he did have was incredibly messed up. His first boyfriend Jamie was one of his soccer rivals, there was a lot of aggression and abuse in their relationship. Jamie and Tanner got into a very physical fight one night, both of the boys ends up being hospitalized overnight. Tanner broke up with Jamie but the relationship lead Tanner to shelter himself from people for a long time. Tanner has tried to not let this affect him as his mother died disowning him. In her age and illness she had turned mean and refused to forgive her children for their differences. He moved in with his brother and adopted a cat, Francesca. He has been in a relationship with a man named Kyle White for almost two years which is a record for him.
History: Ophelia was born the second child of the Rothschild family, she was given up for adoption at birth because her father was still in medical school and they feared he would never finish medical school. She was taken in by the Grants and brought up with a genetic predisposition for depression. She started drinking and taking pills at a young age to ease the pain of daily life. She got along well with her younger siblings, but not with her older siblings or her parents. Ophelia has not had an easy life. She was always the rebellious child, running away from home she was eighteen to live with her boyfriend Francis and pursue her goal as a college girl. She went to school in NYC and graduated high honors with a degree in journalism. She started writing freelance and married her boyfriend, she got pregnant with a boy but at the very end of the first trimester Francis convinced her to get an abortion, he threatened to leave her if she didn’t. She had already named her son Parker but afraid of being left alone, she got an abortion. Francis left her anyways, presenting her with divorce papers only one month later. Ophelia fell in a dark depression, drinking and taking pills. She was slipping away from everything but was institutionalized just in time when her sister Helen realized she was in trouble. Ophelia was let out and tried to live on her own again in Burnham City to be close to her brothers, getting in touch with old friends and trying out a new writing job but she soon found that the pressure of trying to live a normal life was too much. She slipped right back into alcoholism and pill popping. She brought herself into PMHF when she woke up face down in an alleyway. She still does not know her older sister and she doesn’t realize how close she is to finding out who she is.
Appearance: He is tall, just above standing six feet. Ivan has a scar just above his knee from when he and his twin brother were younger and they were practice dueling. Ivan fell down the stairs and scrapped it on a rusty nail. As a reminder not to duel near the stairs, his father let the wound heal naturally and scar over. Bio: Aleksei and Pyotr were two very promising seventh years at Durmstrang Academy. Pyotr had plans of going on into his eighth year at the academy to practice dark magic while his twin brother Aleksei planned on leaving the school to be with his future wife Galina. Before Aleksei left the academy though he was challenged to a duel by Pyotr who secretly wanted to have his brother's fiancée. Aleksei lost the duel and his life because of a cheap shot. Pyotr knew that Galina was pregnant with his brother's children, so he married her and claimed the children as his, but continued on to his eighth year at the academy and left his new wife at home to raise the children. Galina married Pyotr because she knew that there were very few other options for her at the time. The boys never knew about their father because their mother was too broken hearted to speak of it and Pyotr was too proud to admit the events of the past. Later Galina and Pyotr had more children, two sons and a daughter; Abram, Feliks, and Roza. Ivan and his siblings were all raised with the rhetoric that light wizards are weak and dark wizards are powerful so it wasn't to shocking when Ivan grew into a modest young adult because of the path he chose. He spent a lot of time as a child studying magic with his brother and they knew a lot of magic before they were even accepted as students at the Durmstrang academy. Ivan never realized though that he was always a step ahead of his brother. Upon acceptance into the school the boys made their way to the top of their class, even when they chose to walk separate paths they were still able to talk and be friends with each other. Despite the fact that their father wanted them both to be dark wizards, Ivan choose to follow his heart and study light magic. Ivan worked very hard to get into his eighth year at school partially because he felt like Durmstrang was the only place where he could be himself. At his time at Durmstrang he has made a solid group of good friends although he has not had any intimate relationships with anyone special. Upon his acceptance into his eighth year his father grew slightly warmer to him, only to be pushed away seconds later when Ivan finally let his father know that he was studying light magic. He was immediately disowned. It bothers him that his father was so quick about it but he has always thought that there was something his father wasn't telling him. He finished his time at Durmstrang relatively quietly but at the very end was challenged by his brother Mikhail. They dueled and Mikhail was almost killed but because of Ivan's compassion and quick thinking Mikhail was saved but his reputation was tarnished. After graduation the brothers moved on and toured Europe. They had a wonderful time exploring new places and seeing the sights, they even reconciled with each other after the mistakes they made. They received an owl asking them back to Durmstrang to be on staff. They both agreed though quite reluctantly. After only a month of being back at the academy they decided to leave after a girl was killed and the school shut down they did not know where to go. A few students came to Mikhail and Ivan, asking them for help and the twins were able to help a few find new homes, except for one particularly difficult Bulgarian student, Petya Krum. Ivan received a letter from an old friend and knew what their next move was, they landed in Burnham city to start over with their new prodigy and "little sister", Petya Krum.
Appearance: Mikhail is a very tall young man standing at the same height as his twin brother, six feet. Mikhail bares a scar above his left eyebrow because of a fall he had when he was a young boy. The scar adds to his charm and he views it as a sort of mark of bravery. Bio: Aleksei and Pyotr were two very promising seventh years at Durmstrung Academy. Pyotr had plans of going on into his eighth year at the academy to practice dark magic while his twin brother Aleksei planned on leaving the school to be with his future wife Galina. The boys never knew about their father because their mother was too broken hearted to speak of it and Pyotr was too proud to admit the events of the past. Later Galina and Pyotr had more children, two sons and a daughter; Abram, Feliks, and Roza. Mikhail studied magic alongside his brother and as children he didn't realize that his brother learned charms with ease where he struggled and stumbled. As they grew older this fact did not slip his sight for long though. He worked harder and harder, but the more he worked the easier it seemed for Ivan to pick up new things. When they began schooling he hoped that Ivan would choose a grey path and become a scholar, which he could deal with but when his brother choose light magic and he choose dark magic, he was deeply disturbed. Mikhail kept Ivan's secret from his parents but he would have told them if he thought that it would help him in any way. Before this could happen, Ivan told his parents the truth in the hopes that they would accept him as a scholar. Ivan's father did not react well. Mikhail was sad but he realized that this was an opportunity for him and he became his father's "only" son. Mikhail has barely acknowledged his brother's presence since they started school again. He finished his time at Durmstrang relatively quietly but at the very end he challenged Ivan to a duel after he was pressured by his father. Mikhail almost lost his life but because of Ivan he was saved. He was bitter about it for a long time but finally got over it when he realized that Ivan was all he had. After graduation the brothers moved on and toured Europe. They had a wonderful time exploring new places and seeing the sights, they even reconciled with each other after the mistakes they made. They received an owl asking them back to Durmstrang to be on staff. They both agreed though quite reluctantly. Siblings: Anka- sister (5) and Yoan- brother (3) Physical Description: Flowy long skirts, scarves, head wraps, loose blouses, or loose dresses. She barely wears pants (typically only for quidditch). She's known to run around barefoot. She's not very tall at all and quite slight. She has her ears and her nose pierced (which her father hates) and she has a flower vine tattooed on her foot magically. Her hair is usually free flowing and she wears it long and slightly curly. She sometimes wears glasses when she is reading. Bio: Petya was the first born daughter to Viktor and Yana Krum, she has two younger siblings Anka (2006) and Yoan (2008). Her birth was the reason why her parents got married so young (the reason they got married at all). She had a turbulent early life, always being treated as a burden and constantly looked down upon by all of her grandparents. Once her father decided to make the situation work she started acting out. She would purposely do poorly at school or another student would end up being hurt or confused long enough to ruin their scholastic record. When her sister Anka was born five years ago she ran away from home and joined a Gypsy tribe, since she was so young and willing to learn she was adopted by a family. She was renamed Luminitsa by her adopted family when she was baptized in the community and since she already had a common name they didn't bother to give her another. After a month of living and traveling with her Gypsy family there was a terrible storm while they were camping out in the woods. Lightening struck a tree and it collapsed on their camp killing several of the Gypsies including a boy her own age whom she played with and her Gypsy grandmother. Her biological mother and father know that she can be reached at school and they send her letters to let her know what's going on in the family and beg her to come home. Viktor showed up at the school once last year to ask her home for Christmas and she refused. She stays at the school during winter holidays and tends to raise trouble in the nearby villages and cities. During the summer she wonders out to find her tribe and spends the summer traveling and trading with them. She's fascinated with fortune-telling but she's never had the knack for it and loves to watch some of the older women do it. She has a pet owl named Besnik who she cared and brought back to health when she found him dying in the woods. He is very helpful when it comes to finding her tribe during the summer time as he acts as a messenger between Petya and her adopted family. She's bitter sweet, from a distance she seems like a sweet girl but once she gets to know someone she turns sour. She doesn't let anyone get too close and if they do she pushes them away by acting mean. She will sugar up anyone and then turn the switch and hurt the person, physically, mentally, or emotionally. She's been known to do all three. She likes animals more than she does people. She tends to be very short with people when in conversation and even though she looks approachable she is quite snippy. There are a few reasons why she still plays quidditch even though she's been estranged for three years. She plays because she's good at it and it gives her something to be good at. A bit of her also plays because she feels like she's closer to her father if she does although she'll never admit this. She also plays because it's one of the few chances she gets to fly and that's one of the best feelings to her. Durmstrang shut down shortly after a girl's body was found and the school was threatened by unknown sources. She had recently grown fond of two young professors and asked them for help, she mostly told them that she was going to go with them. She changed her last name to match the boys as they all decided it was best to pretend they were siblings.
Bio: Iulie is very different from her parents, although her mother shuns her French heritage, Iulie embraces it. She does not care for ranking, nationality, social class, whatever, she has more important things to worry about… like school. She is very focused but she has her good days and her bad days, sometimes consumed with guilt she has to spend hours in her room. She is trying her best to be warmer and more friendly but there are times when she is distant, cold, and avoidant. She is not the type of girl to throw herself at other people or put herself out there. She doesn't care for attention or her status. At school she followed the rules strictly and respects those who "deserve" it, but at home she tended to do things that angered her mother on purpose. She learned how to speak French and taught her cat commands in French instead of Romanian. She is also a fluent speaker of English and German. Iulie is the youngest surviving daughter of Alin and Sophie Miklos, two very proud, rich, and talented individuals. Iulie is from the magical realm of our world where witches and wizards are part of normal life but it is hidden from the non magical world. Sophie Mikos is a dark witch hailing from a southern region of France. She was born and raised there and attended Beauxbatons until she was fifteen. She was kicked out of the academy for her behavioral problems (the final straw was when she set one of her professors on fire) and choose darker pursuits at Durmstrang Institute. And how did a French transfer student survive at Durmstrang? Excellent question. She stayed with her German cousin over the vacations and disowned her French family. On her first day of class, a seventh year boy gave her trouble for her heritage so she slashed open his chest with her hand and punched him in the heart. He bled to death on the floor as she walked away. She landed herself in the company of her present husband and his troublesome friends; Deidrich Vandenhoff, Gernot, and Hilde. The five friends experimented with dark magic all through their years at Durmstrang and continued when they graduated from their eighth years, gathering other wizards and witches who liked to experiment with dangerous magic. After some of their experimental dark magic went sour and killed a friend, a young Alin Miklos swore off dark magic. Alin and Sophie did not learn the dangers of making the same mistake twice though, because they stayed in the same company of friends; vampires, dark wizards and witches, and necromancers alike. Sophie and Alin had their first child shortly after Alin swore off dark magic, they named him Adrian. A year after his birth Iulie was born, a much more humble child than her brother. The youngest of the Miklos children was Catina, who grew to be a soft, gentle, and kind girl. The children grew to be strong and independent, but close-knit and loving at the same time because they had to take care of each other. One night when Sophie reprimanded her youngest daughter at the age of thirteen for wanting to go to Beauxbatons instead of Durmstrang, Catina ran away from home. Adrian and Iulie went looking for her but their attempt was futile, by the time they found her she was dead, and her killer was still sucking the warm blood out of her neck. A vampire and "family friend" Deidrich Vandenhoff had greedily killed the girl. He turned on the siblings first attacking Adrian and underestimating the strong power of a very small girl. Although Adrian was bitten, Iulie's quick thinking saved his life. She threw curse after curse, finally stunning the lumbering vampire and dissapperated with her siblings back to an empty house as their parents were out for the evening. Iulie did her best to heal her dying brother, but vampire bites are something very different from normal wounds, they made it through the night but not without consequence. Adrian had become a vampire and Catina was dead. Their parents returned in the morning and instead of being taken care of and listened to, they were punished for being "weak" and "lying because Deidrich would never do such a thing." Three months after Catina's death, Deidrich was staked through the heart, the murderer is still at large, but the mysterious deaths and disappearances in the surrounding communities, muggle and magical alike, all ceased. Iulie felt like she could have done something more, be it with visions or with healing, she just felt guilty about her sisters death. The wounds are still fresh and it would only take a few words about the incident to set her off. She has been distant, quiet, and at times cold. She is still very angry because her mother still doesn't believe her. Before the vampire incident though, Iulie's life was as good as it could get for a little girl who was ignored by her filthy rich parents. She and her siblings all helped each other get along and prepare for school. Iulie bought her first wand when she was ten years old with her brother Adrian at her side. She started practicing white magic right off the bat with her holly wood, unicorn hair wand. One of her favorite activities was to find injured animals and heal them. She's been getting top grades and working very hard at the academy. Just like all of her fellow classmates, she works very hard and does not waste a second of her time on things that will not help her make top scores. Although regenerative magic is her passion, she is also talented at foresight. She started having visions at the age of five. As she was laying in bed one night, her vision overwhelmed her. She saw a hand clapped over a chest and heard crying. Then she heard a drum, dying away as if became more and more distant. The next morning her grandfather died of a heart attack. Iulie felt like she was to blame, and even though later in life she realized what these sights were, she still felt guilty. She tries to avoid foresight, but it's not really something that can be turned on and off. In her brother's final year at the academy, something went terribly wrong. He had lost control and killed a girl, drained her off her blood in the middle of the night. He ran to the only person who could help, Iulie. She covered up and decided what would be best for her brother. They packed their things very quickly and left the school. They moved into the non-magical word, got on the first plane that was heading far away from anything that they knew and ended up in Burnham City. She is now working on becoming a full time student at the university, working part time, and trying her very best not to use wizard terms such as "Muggle" or "Quidditch."
Bio: Adrian was very used to his lavish lifestyle and quite a fan of it. While at school he knew he was affluent and played the role of the cool and collected young man. He is charming and flirtatious with the ladies, while putting up a cold exterior because he fears that if people get to close and find out he's a vampire, they won't want to be near him anymore. Adrian is caring and fatherly to Iulie because he had to be there for his younger siblings as they were growing up. His parents abandonment didn't leave much room for childhood making way for a very serious attitude. Being a vampire was not something that Adrian couldn't understand though, because he grew up in a magical world of witches and wizards and attended the highly prestigious Durmstrang Academy until he fled October 2008. Adrian is the oldest child of Alin and Sophie Miklos, two very proud, rich, and talented individuals. Sophie Mikos is a dark witch hailing from a southern region of France. She was born and raised there and attended Beauxbatons until she was fifteen. Three months after Catina's death, Deidrich was staked through the heart, the murderer is still at large, but the mysterious deaths and disappearances in the surrounding communities, muggle and magical alike, all ceased. Adrian, who had quickly grown accustomed to expensive living fell into the socialite scene more so than his sisters ever did, is much more accepted by his parents than Iulie. Because of this, they showed more interest in him and they quickly learned his skills in foresight. It was a celebrated occasion when he was accepted into Durmstrang shortly after his eleventh birthday. He fit in with many of the other students at the academy, becoming quite popular and standing out in the class room and out. Quite obviously the vampire bite changed Adrian's life. It is not known by many that he is a vampire and he keeps that secret well hidden. He became more of a recluse because he feared people would find out. He is more quite and secluded but his friends still harass him to go out and reek havoc with them. He blames this sudden turn around on the fact that he had to study harder, especially when he was accepted into his eighth year. In his final year he lost control and killed a girl while he was in the corridor at night. He went to Iulie who arranged everything and got them on a flight to Burnham City where they would try to start over.
Personality: Modest, soft, and mousey. She is a Victorian mind set stuck in the modern world and does not know how to deal with her children. She is not assertive or independent. Quirks: She is very well-mannered and very meek and mild. She does not stand up for herself and expects that all women obey men. She believes that it is the job of a woman to be a wife and a mother. Very traditional. She is left handed. Biography: Elizabeth Charlotte Worthington was born to James Charles Worthington III, an English PM and Jaquelyn Marie Worthington formerly LaPointe, a French beauty who taught French to the children of the richest families in London. Elizabeth was born and raised in London, but not by her parents, she was brought up in boarding school, always told that it was because her parents traveled so often. Elizabeth was always prim and proper and had an undying love of all things Victorian, completely obsessed with the ideas and philosophies from the time. She attended an all-girls university and studied Victorian literature. She made a career for herself writing romantic Victorian novels and plays. This was not what her father wanted for her though, he arranged for her to meet with the son of another PM, a certain Hugo Davies. Soon after their meeting Hugo and Elizabeth were engaged to be married, Elizabeth was only twenty three. They were wed six months after they met in June 1992 and Elizabeth was forced to give up her writing as she became pregnant three weeks after her marriage. And shortly after her son Quincy was born she found herself pregnant again with her daughter Gemma. She enjoyed having the children home with her while they were young but at the insistence of their father they were both sent to boarding school where they would learn to be well-mannered and proper. Hugo became very ill when he was only thirty two years old and slowly deteriorated. He died when Quincy was 14 and Gemma was 13, he was only thirty seven years old. The children did not cry at his funeral, but Elizabeth did. She felt that she had lost everything. After three years of wallowing she decided to move to the states because she had nowhere else to go and it was the only job offer she had been given as a Victorian playwright. She figured she could make a lucrative career out of the talent that she had left. She know lives in Burnham City with her two children who are for the first time attending public school. She despises the idea of it, but there's not enough money left in the trust fund to send the children to a private school or a boarding school.
Personality: Sarcastic, witty, and rebellious. She is kind to people who deserve it and wretched to those who are also wretched. She does not believe in power structures or hierarchy and can't stand "proper femininity." She's not the girl who would wear frilly dresses to an afternoon picnic. Quirks: She carries a paint brush and pencils with her wherever she goes. She sketches often. She dreams in French. She rebels against her mother and reads feminist literature. She is best friends with her brother Quin. She's a vegetarian. She hates contemporary art, especially the kind in which blood or excrement is used. She calls it "piss and shite art." Biography: Gemma went to the same boarding school as her brother her whole life and she knows all of his secrets. She had a very different sort of career in the school though. Where her brother was considered cheeky, she was considered rebellious. She broke out of the school grounds several times and lead several revolts against the kind of food that was being served to them. She only ever had one boyfriend who kissed her under the bleachers and proceeded to make fun of her to all of the boys in their year because she didn't know how to French kiss. Gemma beat him up and had to do two nights of detention for it. When her mother found out about it she almost had a heart attack and sent Gemma a very hastily written letter about "proper femininity" and "female virtues." Gemma ignored it. When she was told they were moving to the states she was ecstatic because she felt that this was her chance to break out of her mother's clutches and do what she wanted to do. Mostly, she wanted to be an artist and live on her own. She has no ambition to be a "proper woman, wife, and mother" some day. She just wants to live in the moment and make art.
Personality: Boisterous, jubilant, cheeky, and bubbly. He loves talking to people and getting to know those around him. He is very approachable and when in public he is has perfect charm and manners but when out of the public eye his manners are gone and he is no longer a proper gentleman, not to say his charm is ever diminished. He is definitely the boy your mother warned you about. Quirks: The only sweets he eats are dark chocolates. He writes haikus in his head while he is walking down the street. He recites Latin conjugations when he's walking up the stairs. He is fluent in Latin and French, although he does not find this useful. Not only does he get along with his sister, she's his best friend. He smokes cigarettes. Biography: Quincy spent his entire life in boarding school, causing trouble as young boys often do. He was quite popular at his school for the mischief as he lead most of the other boys into shenanigans and trouble. He was known quite well for his popularity among the ladies and for his ability to get his hands on alcohol. Quincy spent an inordinate amount of time writing lines and doing detention. What very few people at the school knew though was that Quincy was also interested in boys as well as girls. He only ever had a few male partners and none of them spoke about it. His father's ambition was for him to become a PM but Quin never wanted anything like that. He was more interested in poetry and writing. He never knew his mother was a writer until she moved them to the states. Quin found this quite interesting and because of it, treats his mother a little more nicely than he did when they found out they were moving to the states. At first he was very angry but now that they're there and they've been there for a few days he's starting to get used to the idea of making it work. He is now a student at Burnham college with an undeclared major.
Bio: Augustus "August" Parrish is the second oldest child of one of the most affluent families in Burnham. His life, although very strange, was pretty perfect and the way he wanted it. He went to school for activism anthropology and started doing work in Burnham for all kinds of movements. He married his college girlfriend when he was twenty four and they were happy just the way they were, but two and a half years into the marriage his wife Haruko discovered that she was pregnant. The two decided that it wouldn't be the end of the world, but later in the pregnancy complications arose and Haruko became very ill, it turned out that she had to make a choice between her life and her babies life. She choose the little baby boy in her belly and died while she was delivering him. August named the boy Yori as he and his wife had planned. He has given up his activist work to raise his son and started teaching history at a private high school. Quirks: Hums Protest songs and sings in the shower.
Bio: Samson "Sam" Parrish is the second to youngest child of the Parrish family. He ha a six month stint at rehab before he went to college and made his dismal attempt at a business degree. He changed his major and did incredibly well. He graduated from college a year ago and married his "pregnant" girlfriend Sylvie. His girlfriend wasn't really pregnant and Sam isn't really straight. When Sylvie informed Sam about the incident he left Chicago without another word and fled back to Burnham where he went back to his old penthouse that he shared with his siblings. They are estranged as of now but the two families all think that they are apart because of occupations and they will get back together eventually. This is not true, Sylvie is pouting and Sam is hiding from her. Sam is now at a magazine, doing intern work and preparing to apply at graduate schools for journalism and English to get his life back on track. Quirks: prefers to write in pencil as opposed to typing or pen, chews on the end of pencils while thinking, saves all the blue peanut M & Ms for last. Hates hippies.
Bio: Yori loves his dad and his family even though they are crazy, but he would like to get out from under his dad's shadow at some point in his life. He wants a little independence. He doesn't realize that his father gave up everything he ever loved to bring him into the world though. Yori Parrish is the second born grandchild of Magnolia and Edwin, also, the only non-blonde in the entire immediate family. Yori is the only child of August and Haroku Parrish. He is the typical, inquisitive seven year old boy. He goes to the same private school system that his father works in. He doesn't realize how affluent his family is and it doesn't bother him either way. He has a knack for the violin, judo, kendo, and making playlists for his dad's mp3 player. He loves tea, hot chocolate at any time of the year, cats, and taking walks in the park. He loves his family and all of the chaos that they cause. Quirks: He loves hot drinks even in the middle of summer. He listens to all different kinds of music. Martial arts is one of his favorite things to do but he treasures playing violin more than anything. He always reads the ingredients in whatever he is eating and warns his father if he believes there is too much of anything in their food. "Too much sodium" is his famous line.
Bio: Derek was born in Detroit to his mother Cassie and father Cameron, they were young parents with very little clue what they were doing and eventually split up. Derek spent most of his early life traveling between his parent’s homes, sometimes having to bring his backpack with him to school as he wasn’t sure where he was going to end up. He was always on the geeky side, stealing comic books from the local store so he could read them. He watched Star Wars, Star Trek, and collected anything and everything sci-fi and fantasy. Eventually Derek’s parents got it together and were able to come up with a more sensible solution. Derek’s mother remarried when he was eight, giving him two half-sisters Maleeka and Kennadey. He loved his little sisters to death and loved to take care of them when he got home from school. While he was in high school he fell in love with music. In time he became an incredibly talented DJ better known as “D Rock” and picked up a graveyard shift at the local station, slowly making a name for himself. He went straight into the radio station when he graduated from high school and did a lot of events for the station as he was one of the more popular DJs. His station sent him to comic con when he was nineteen years old, it was practically a dream come true for him. On his time off he went over to haggle with a “goofy” Welsh buyer and seller of action figures named Oliver. He haggled over Boba Fett for two days until finally they came to a deal. They became friends at the event and exchanged emails. They kept in contact through emails for a year until Derek suddenly showed up in Oliver’s city. They became best friends, goofing around, geeking out, and just having a good time together. Derek had moved to Burnham five years ago when his girlfriend Lucy moved with her job and she asked him to come with her. He agreed and asked her to marry him. She said yes but a year after they had moved in together, she told him she was pregnant… with another man’s baby. Derek packed up his things and left. He went to the only place he knew… Oliver’s apartment. Derek asked if he could crash for a few days, which turned to a few weeks, a few months… two years later they decided to move to a bigger apartment so Derek no longer had to sleep on a couch. They now have a three bed room apartment in BCA, they use one of the rooms as their man cave where they stash away all their dork stuff, memorabilia, piles of books, and other fun stuff. There are quite a few intense game nights that go on in their man cave.
Bio: Oliver was the second born to Tristan and Megan Evans, two Welsh individuals. Megan, an English professor at a Welsh University and Tristan, a Welsh footballer, were already pretty decent parents to their eldest son Matthew. A few years apart their little sisters Angie and Char joined the clan. The kids had an enjoyable childhood except for one thing… competition. Tristan pushed all four of his children into competition with each other and with other kids their age. Tristan had all the kids involved in sports, specifically soccer. Both Matthew and Oliver were naturals at the sports but Oliver hated it. Oliver preferred to sit in his room and read. He read everything he could get his hands on and became obsessed with comics and sci-fi. He started collecting things and even took a summer and part time job at a comic book store when he was in high school. All the kids played through high school while attending private school. In Oliver’s senior year, when he was captain of the team, he quit so he would have more time to study and read. He wanted to get into college and go places that did not include soccer. His father was furious. Tristan and Oliver have been on uneasy terms since then, but Megan has always been supportive of her son, she loves that he has a soft spot for reading and books. Oliver graduated at the top of his class and went on to Burnham City University to get his degrees in business and literature. While in college he worked at a comic book store, picking up the tools and tricks of the trade. He became an independent buyer, seller, and trader of comics and collectors’ items for comics, star wars, star trek, and other geek hobbies. After he got his degree he worked for a few years until he made enough to start up his own business. He started small with his merchandise and comic trade but the store has grown since he opened it. He employs himself and four others. The business is now three years old. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
