Uncle Keelhaul: Application
In Character

Name: Uncle Keelhaul
Age: 55
Gender/Preference: Male/Asexual
Title: Ship's Cook
Student/Scholar/Graduate/Hearth taught: Hearth taught (and not very well, I might add)
Residence: The Vicious Barnacle (ship)
Familiar: None
Magical abilities: None-- affected by Blanket Plague. Formerly he had fire and spellbinding magics.
Appearance: Unkempt and slightly crazy-eyed. He does manage to dress himself to an acceptable level of decency, but usually in a cacophony of loud colours and clashing prints. Occasionally dons an orange, tiger-printed chefs hat.

Personality: Unpredictable. Since going mad from the loss of his abilities from Blanket Plague, Uncle's temperament can go from bumblingly harmless to meaninglessly violent in the blink of an eye. However, his loyalty remains with Captain Locke and a stern word from the captain can bring him to submission very quickly.
Strengths:
Hasn't set himself on fire yet? Loyal. Generally obedient.
Weaknesses: Unreliable and largely incompetent. Can't actually cook, Makes the other pirates look less badass by association.
Quirks:
Likes to tell long and pointless stories.
Secrets: Was a ... sort of... respectable mage, once upon a time.

Biography: Uncle Keelhaul was an ordinary child born to an ordinary family, living an ordinary life. He had a name, of course, but in his teenage years he dropped it for various pseudonyms during a brief foray into a criminal lifestyle. He developed Blanket Plague approximately ten years ago and as a result lost all of his abilities. The sudden disability in a completely magical world drove him to madness, and whilst attempting to drown himself in a half-inch deep puddle on the beach he was picked up by a crew of pirates who took him in as one of their own. He is now the cook for the Vicious Barnacle, despite no cooking ability and a habit of creating worse than wretched meals.
