| Wedding dress has a lot of beading |

This board is a great place to meet friends, get advice, and share the complexities of LDS life. Although we do not know if this baby is a girl or boy yet I think I should go ahead and get it done while I have the time.
I am a very sentimental person and to think of cutting my dress up is something I wouldn't usually agree to. After a lot of thinking I do feel like it is right and better then having my wedding dress hang in my closet. Plus it would be a fun family heirloom to pass on.
The top of my dress has a lot of beading. The bottom is more gathered.
I'm just wondering if you have any advice for me or references to something similar.
I love this idea! I think it's a great way to keep a special dress special and also useful. I really want to do this some day. My MIL gave me DH's blessing outfit for DS and she already made me a blessing gown for our future DD (if we have one) which I LOVE! If our next baby is a boy I'll definitely make him a little outfit from my wedding gown and then give it to him and his wife for their son (I'm thinking WAY ahead here).
You could use just part of your dress, like the train or skirt part of your dress for the skirt of the blessing gown and use another fabric for the top/bodice. You could use some of the beading on the sleeves or bottom hem or waist. If you have any concerns about your own health or the health of your child, you should always consult with a physician or other healthcare professional.
