jason daniel erickson, who prefers to be called jace or simply jd, was born and raised eighteen years ago in salt lake city, utah. in fact he's been in the same house his entire life, the same house his parents had lived in years before his existence. it was his mother's childhood house, a house filled with memories and good vibes that are undeniable. when she moved away to college her parents decided they needed something smaller and sold the house, not knowing that someday their future son-in-law would purchase the house from the owners for his new wife's wedding present. jace loves that house and could never imagine living anywhere else. if he ever did move it would probably only be down the street so he would never have to be too far away from all his fondest memories.

because of the extremely close relationship both his parents and the rest of his family has with one another, he had always been open with everyone he meets. he believes there is no point in hiding your true self in order to gain friends, money, fame.. to him the most important thing is being accepted for who you are. of course with the type of environment the neighborhood is located around, that isn't always the easiest task. although jace is considered to be somewhat of a social butterfly, he only truly feels as if he has a handful of friends he would trust with his life.

jace isn't particularly religious as he is spiritual, believing that there has to be so much more than this life we all lead. he believes the universe is too wide for only one particular race to exist and someday he hopes to find out what else is out there. he knows prayers are answered and good things happen to good people, even if sometimes it takes a while for it to happen.

he's really into the whole "hippie" mentality, feeling that love is really all you need. his parents are prime examples that even after twenty years of marriage and one kid later, you can still be just as much in love today as you were when you first met. he's always striving to find that kind of love, though sometimes his odd quirks don't exactly make him the babe magnet he wishes he could be. he doesn't believe in real shoes, in fact if it wasn't for getting written up in school more times than he can count, he wouldn't wear them at all. instead he opts for flip flops, even in the snow.

whether it's traditional indian culture or the new age "crap" most people would call it, jace is into it. he can often be seen around school wearing dream catchers and hand crafted bracelets he made in his room, or visiting stores that could be deemed spooky, buying candles and books. he's not into any of the witchcraft type of stuff, just the natural things that believes come from the earth.

despite his environment, there isn't a single flashy thing about him. he cuts his own hair and shops mainly in thrift or secondhand stores, believing that money should be spent on things that are important and not on the newest trends. it all goes along with the fact that he wants to truly be himself and if he were to dress flashy he thinks that would be the only reason certain people would want to talk to him.

for the most part, he is quiet. when he's not getting in trouble for his lack of shoes in the classroom, he's sitting in the back taking notes amongst the doodles that usually consume his entire notebook. he does his work and manages to keep his grades up, despite not having a real solid idea of where he wants to go to college or what he wants to do when he's done with high school. maybe the peace core, who knows.
