POSITION: The somewhat wayward second son of the late Don Lucchese.
RELATIONS: The youngest son and second of three children of the previous Lucchese Don. THE MAFIA KING, older brother; Valentina Brigida Ines Lucchese (THE MAFIA PRINCESS), little sister; Immacolata Fernanda Beatriz Pelagatti (THE SOCIALITE), second cousin.

He is known as Mr Normal, a reproach indeed for a son of criminals, as though his dreams of legitimacy and dying an old man are an infamia. But there is no doubt as to his heritage: Gaspare is all Lucchese, the same scheming tenacity that landed the family the prime seat in the New York hierarchy running through this wayward son's veins. The family business is not for him, never has been, and with childhood memories of bloodied thugs shielding him and his siblings from an endless rain of bullets, Gaspare knew from almost the beginning that he wanted out. And so he left, abandoned the city that had been his home since infancy to begin his university education in Oxford, in the sciences -- a field he knew rendered him useless in the family business.

IN BRIEF.
• Born of Don Massimo Lucchese and Bianca Leggièri. Compared to his brother's birth, Gaspare's was an absolute dream. The relief that brought Bianca, however, was short-lived, as the solemnly blinking infant refused to suckle for three days.
• Of all of the Lucchese children, he was by far the quietest. While his brother lorded over their cousins and initiated games such as "Doctor," Gaspare preferred to distance himself and was often seen sitting quietly in a corner, reading or colouring, while the other kids squabbled during the big family parties.
• For a while, Massimo feared his mild-mannered son was a homosexual.
• Gaspare proved his father wrong when he caught his big brother making out with his prom date. THE MAFIA KING, who protested he didn't know because Gaspare was so damned secretive, was left with a bloodied lip. The girl was dumped; she never made it to the prom.
• He never really suffered from the middle child syndrome. His brother is welcome to all of the family power and responsibility, and his sister has never been perceived as someone to compete with for his parents' attention.
• Because he doesn't want their attention. He would prefer it if they overlooked him entirely, at least where the family business is concerned: he wants nothing to do with it and determined from a very young age that it wasn't for him.
• Threw himself into his schoolwork so he could enroll in a good university -- abroad, preferably.
• Currently a student in Oxford's Balliol College and is having the time of his life there.
• Member of the prestigious Oxford University Boat Club. He also plays football and fervently supports several Italian and English teams.
• He rarely returns to the United States over term-breaks. Sure, he misses his family to an almost painful degree, but as Massimo had been including him in those intense father-to-son talks he has with his eldest son for years now, Gaspare would rather avoid his father's disappointment and frustration when he shrugs off secrets of that thing of theirs. He just doesn't want to know.
• Can be (and often is) perceived as prudish. He will never refer to anyone by their nickname and has never been known to curse in public. He's straight-laced about sex and doesn't fuck around with girls. A long-term-relationship-only sort of guy, his name has been linked with only a handful of girls.
• Currently dating a blandly pretty English girl, Lucy Taylor-Howard. She's boring and polite and very well-off. Wears a simply enormous hat whenever they attend get-togethers arranged by her aristocratic relatives. The only stares she draws are from Gaspare's family -- or rather, would, because she's never met them, and Gaspare plans to keep it that way for as long as he can. They're a sickeningly proper couple (no public displays of affection here!) but you can be sure they fuck like animals whenever she's been into the punch.
• His little sister's trek across Europe, plus her emerging sensuality, worries him endlessly. In the face of men interested in Valentina, he conveniently forgets that he never really paid much attention to her as a child, and is very capable of going behind her back to warn them to watch just where they put their hands. When it comes to his sister's safety and honor, he is all Lucchese bravado.
• The news of his father's death stunned him, and he has since taken the term off to attend the funeral and see to his relatives.
