You are not allowed to simply 'okay' me anymore. You've been running around doing your own thing for the past year, and I've let you because you are an adult and are supposed to be able to run your life the way you want it, but obviously you still have some maturing to do.
I'm your sister. I'm always going to be your sister. No matter how much you piss me off, at the end of the day if you need to cry to me I'll be right there. I'll always be there, Jen, but you have to grow up. I love you, but none of what you're doing right now is healthy for you and it's going to stop.
Smeth isn't ready to date you again. Maybe he doesn't ever want to date you again. You have to learn to accept it, and if the time comes, the time comes, but if it doesn't? You've already proven that other men can be interested in you. Smeth is a wonderful man, but he's not the only wonderful man out there. I thought my life was over when Jake died, but fate led me to Caden and now I'm happier than I've ever been.
Don't do this to yourself, because you are doing this to yourself, making a break that shouldn't be so hard into something intensely difficult to bear. You're smart, you're young, you've got the rest of your life to live and forget about all this mess. You're gorgeous and talented. You're lovely and loyal, don't let some boy make you forget all those things.
