My family's already been informed, but I wanted to make a more personal announcement before the media got to it. I've decided to step down as captain of the Chudley Cannons and seek new opportunities in the North American Quidditch League, more specifically: I've accepted an offer from the Moose Jaw Meteorites, in Canada, and I've decided to play for them.

I'm not going to lie and say that recent events haven't spurred this decision, but I have been following the NAQL for a very long time, and they have approached me many times before these season. ~~There's just nothing to stay for any--~~ I don't want anyone to think I'm jumping into something without really thinking about it--because I have. ~~And I need to get away you understand don't you--~~ It's a great opportunity that I think will ~~She wanted to go too, you know, she said--after the war we should go--~~ be very rewarding.

So--I don't really know what else to say other than I want to thank everyone for their support, especially my family who's never failed to be there for me. ~~I leave tonight if--~~ Thanks for everything.

There's not much good coming out of Marlie being sick (her fever still hasn't broken, I'm afraid) but she still manages to be my Marliecakes and we figured out something pretty cool! Well. She and Alice have apparently been talking (I dunno how, these girls are sneaky and climb out of bed at the wee hours of the night apparently, just to gossip) annnnd today she told me, that for sure this was what we're gonna name our first two kids.

I KNOW, IT'S A SCARY THOUGHT, but it's kind of cool at the same time.

There is one good thing about not making the playoffs. Well! There's that extra month of holiday, but when you're a quidditch player, you want to be playing all the time, so! It is definitely that I get to attend the McKinnons' Sunday Brunch once more. My schedule made it almost impossible, but I must say.

Mama McKinnon makes the best Eggs Benedict. Like, there is no doubt. I love my mum, but she is no cook.

So, all those other teams should be jealous. Definitely. Sort of.

1979— July 26th; Marlene and her family are murdered by Orpheus Travers. He is arrested and sentenced to Azkaban. Vinny in his grief accepts a contract with a Canadian League team and leaves the country the next week.

1980— June; Returns from Canada because Albus Dumbledore has invited him to join the Order of the Phoenix. For the next quidditch season works as a coach for the Cannons because he is not ready to jump back into the British media spotlight and it makes Order missions easier to handle.

1982— February; Signs with the Caerphilly Catapults! Manages to get back into the swing of things and begins dating Victoria Cadwallader.

1982— May; Vinny and Victoria's goddaughter, Ava, is orphaned. In her parents' will they list the couple as guardians, and Vinny begins to have panic attacks and anxiety about this sudden change. While he remains a doting godfather to Ava, he is unable to commit to Victoria in the way she needed to take on the three year old. They break up.

1983— February; At the end of season gala, Vinny and long time friend Glenda Prewett share a snogging session in the loo. Both having lost significant others in the war, this sends them into a panic and they've yet to discuss it.

1983— May; Right before the start of the new season, Vinny is traded to the Falmouth Falcons.

1983— December; Vinny ends the season with the most snitch catches and the Falcons enter the play offs in first place and a one-hundred and fifty point lead.
