Stuck on finding a pb? Don't know anything about the family your character comes from? Want to have a really pretty journal but don't know how? Here's a few tips!

ONE: PBs.

baobabble--She is great for girls. I got my icons from her, and I think they're amazing. She icons so many different types of girls and it's simply wonderful!
embargo~insanejournal--this community is members only, but membership isn't moderated. they icon both boys and girls, and all of the icons are very nice! there's a large variety of types of people and I really like it. I use it quite a bit.
ether_bunny~ij--She's a great resource for boys. There's such a great variety and there's one to fit almost every character. It's really great!
soconvinced~ij--This journal is friends only, but it's worth it to friend because the icons are amazing! There are SO MANY subjects and the quality of the icons is great! I highly recommend this journal.
pigalle~ij--This journal is also friends only, but comes highly recommended from our mod, Michelle. You'll find beautiful icons in this journal, and it's definitely worth friending for.
find_icons~ij--This is a wonderful source for icons if you have a pb and can't seem to find many. Always check the tags first, and then post if you can't find your pb.

TWO: BASIC FAMILY INFO

The Harry Potter Lexicon is definitely the best source (besides the books themselves) to go to for info on your character.

THREE: LAYOUT EDITING

for a flexible squares layout, go here., then go create top level layer >> layout >> create
Then, paste this into the white space and hit 'save and compile.' Then you can go in as usual and search for 'flexible squares' and edit the CSS in the s2 system!

my favorite place to find flexible squares layouts is minty-peach@lj. It's great!

RULES.

1) Obviously, no god-modding. It sucks, and nobody likes it, so just don’t do it. If we get a complaint that you are, you’ll receive a warning. Do it again, you’re out.

2) No OOC drama, please. IC drama is expected, but if you have problems with the other players, keep it out of the game and work it out. WE DON’T WANT YOUR DRAMA, MAMA.

3) BE LITERATE. Please, we beg you. If you mistype or misspell every once in awhile, it’s no big deal, but there’s really no excuse for doing it constantly. There’s something called spell check. Use it. (Even if it sucks sometimes.)

4) BE ACTIVE. We understand that our lives don’t revolve around roleplaying, but it isn’t much to ask for at least two entries and one log per month. There will be an activity check at the end of each month, so BE PREPARED.

Use the appropriate tags; roleplay, owl, olive hornby, minerva mcgonagall. Not that difficult.

6) We don’t have any banned pbs, but we ask that your pb is age appropriate. Try to stay away from scenesters and the like, though, because they’re annoying.

7) This game is set in the 1940s. That means that people wouldn't be having rampant sex and then talking about it to all their friends. Yes, characters can have sex, but it was much less appropriate and accepted back then. They most certainly wouldn't make out in the corridors, though kisses are acceptable. Basically, if your characters are hot for each other, make sure they're in a private place. Also, WWII is happening in the muggle world, and that would most likely effect at least the muggleborn population. London is getting bombed, and that's not only muggles' problem.

8) HAVE FUN. Yes, this is a rule. We don't want the game to be boring! If you're not having fun playing your character, then maybe you shouldn't be playing them! This is not a place for your srs face.

9)Any questions? Any further questions you have can be put in the DROP BOX. The mods will get back to you as quickly as possible! :D

10)In your first two weeks of play, we ask that you only have two characters. After the first two weeks, the limit is raised to four.

All holds last for three days, with a two day extension. Holds cannot be challenged. We do allow Original Characters, but we ask that most of the named characters be filled first. You can only hold two characters at a time.

ALSO. Just because your character is a Gryffindor doesn't mean they have to be a reckless rebel, just like if you're a Slytherin you don't have to mean and manipulative. Change it up! We want to see variety.
