There were at one time two kinds of Fae in the world: the Light Fae and the Black Fae. The Light Fae were known for their lighter characteristics such as blonde hair and pale skin, and are currently the only surviving species of Fae in existence. The Black Fae had been known for their dark hair and pale skin, but were famously wiped out in the Struggles of 1320 by a combination of Loki's followers and human Hunters. Following a massacre of many of their own people after the genocide of their brethern, the Light Fae withdrew their forces from the war between Baba Yaga and Loki and vanished without a trace.

Remnants of their civilisation are scattered throughout Europe, most predominantly in northern Ireland and the forests of Scotland.

FACTS ABOUT THE FAE:
- Their blood is highly coveted by Hunters due to the effects it has upon other supernaturals (barring psychics). While it reacts much like a common poison might, it is especially deadly to vampires and has an acidic effect on them. If a vampire were to bite a Fae, their teeth would fall apart and they would find themselves severely damaged permanently-- if not killed in their efforts.

- The Light Fae have a very complicated culture. They are extremely formal, placing importance in appearance and education above all else. Although they have been isolated for hundreds of years, the modern world does not escape them entirely. Computers and mobile phones may be elusive to them (as they have no need for such things), but they are aware of them.

- The Fae do not have surnames; rather they have titles that go before their given names, and this title is not given to them until they have come of age (unless they are royalty). The 'King' and 'Queen' are called the Magnae (Magna Andraste and Magna Ollathair) while the prince or princess is referred to as the Minor (Minor Bran and Minor Fionnagh). Furthermore a teacher may be called Magister (NAME) while a general is called Imperator (NAME). *NOTE* All Fae have either Roman or Irish Gaelic based names. The latter is far more likely but the former is not unheard of.

- Earning a Fae's trust is so difficult it might as well be impossible. Due to the betrayal they faced at Loki's hand, they are an extremely secretive and elusive people. ALL Fae are taught not to place their trust in anyone outside of the Dagda, and any who might endanger their home with their curiosity are faced with death.

REQUIREMENTS TO REMEMBER BEFORE APPLYING:
Appearance:
- ALL Fae have light hair and light skin. The Black Fae were wiped out of existence, and the Light Fae's isolation means they do not breed out of species. *NOTE* They may disguise their hair with hair dye (this has to be done very regularly, every week or so) or if they have the rare ability of illusion they may change their hair colour that way. However, skin tone is nearly impossible to disguise and using an illusion is draining to maintain.

- The Fae more or less appear very similar to regular humans except in two regards: one, their skin appears to be more like marble and naturally 'shinier' than a human's, and two, they have slight points to the tips of their ears. They are perhaps inspiration for the myths of elves.

Biology:
- The Fae are actually infertile, the cause of which is unknown but most likely linked to a curse Loki placed on them prior to their disappearance. Their population is slowly declining, although they remain a stubborn, secretive people.

- They are not required to eat very much, and can go days without food or water. This is a side-effect to their highly magical bodies.

- The Fae can live up to 1.000 years old but WILL eventually die of old age. However, they will never appear to be ageing beyond a certain point.

Abilities:
- Almost all Fae are capable of telepathic abilities, though each one has a secondary psychic ability. It could be that they can see the future, or that they can enter another person's dreams, or that they may be able to create illusions. Whatever the case, their abilities are stronger and more potent than a regular psychic.

Society:
- The leader of the Fae, Magna Andraste and her husband Magna Ollathair, are the sole protectors of their crippling civilisation. Prior to the vanishing, Andraste was known for her even-tempered demeanour and willingness to show compassion to members of other species, while Ollathair was known for his keen sense of military intelligence and strength. (PB References: ?? for Andraste, Jason Isaacs for Ollathair).

- Their current home is called the Dagda and is located deep in the Scottish highlands. They keep themselves safe with a combination of illusions spells and guards that keep watch over their territory. The Dagda is, for all intents and purposes, quite a prosperous village-like place. It has homes and farmland enough to keep what Fae remain well-fed and kept. Although they have no use for 'shops', the Fae make due by trading amongst themselves and, very occasionally, the Magna Ollathair may venture outside the Dagda long enough to return with advancements (such as a couple of cars or other modern day conveniences).

- The sons of the Magnae are Minor Bran and Minor Fionnlagh. Bran, the eldest, once had a twin (NAMEHERE) who was murdered protecting an infant Fionnlagh in 1520 when Loki attempted to kidnap the baby. Fionnlagh and 4 other Fae are the last to have been born prior to Loki's Curse being cast upon them.
