Reading such news of the death of my dear friend Octavia has put me in what I believe to be my darkest hour. I curse myself for not making more effort to visit with her lately, for that time lost is time I shall never be given back. She was my closest friend and one of the few human beings in whom I could truly confide. The world is undoubtedly a worse place for her absence.

My dear friends, let this be a lesson to hold those whom you love near, for one day they could be spirited away from you in the blink of an eye.

Rest in Peace, Octavia, darling. You will be more missed than I can begin to say.

Warmest and most sincere congratulations to my colleague Healer Diggle on his feature in publication on his new clinical trial. It is a pity that they could not have chosen a more flattering image, but we all have bad photo days, certainly. Surely I only place blame on the publication--but I have noticed a recent decline in quality in Wizarding Fair. So unfortunate.

Congratulations nonetheless!

Speaking of unfortunate things: the incompetence of my hairdresser. The <strike>impossible bint</strike> silly woman managed to somehow dye my hair bright blonde! My, I was so appalled that I fired her on the spot, of course. I am absolutely devastated, as you must be able to understand. I do pray it will grow out quickly.

I absolutely can't believe the inappropriate conduct that they allow to go on in this hospital! There I was, just sitting at lunch today with a few of my lovely fellow co-workers, and all of a sudden, Healer Cervantes drops his fork. Or maybe 'drops his fork' is more appropriate--well, anyway, the piece of silverware lands very mysteriously near my shoe, prompting him to ask me to pick it up for him.

Being the kind and generous soul that I am, of course I obliged. I stood up, leaned down, picked up the fork, and came up just in time to see him staring so very blatantly at my bottom! I was so appalled by his insensitive and vulgar behavior that I took my complaint straight to the Chief. And what did he do, you ask? Well, you won't believe it, but he completely brushed the whole thing off! Oh, Healer Cervantes is such a nice, good, respectful man, why he could never do such a thing!

Were I not so truly enamored in my job and the reward I get of saving lives each day, I would right up and leave this dreadful hospital. You simply cannot imagine what I go through to make the world a better, healthier place!
