"Never judge a book by it's cover" is a universal motto everyone knows. But Alexandria Hennesey (Alex for short) lives by it. With long blonde hair, an always tan body, big boobs and a size zero in pants, she comes off as the perfect girl. Her dads "million" dollar car dealership gets her whatever she wants and she's as smart as Bill Gates, but body images and honor roll report cards don't bring happiness. Not in the Henessey home.
Alex was born on the 16th of January in the year of 1991, making her almost 18 years old. She has been waiting for this birthday since she was nine, but not for the typical "freedom" reason. Not to be able to buy cigarettes and not to vote, but more so to move out and get her own place -- get away from her dad. Ever since her parents divorced, her life has been a mess. Her dad began to pick up the bottle when the court decisions were finally and her mom moved out, leaving her and her sister living with her dad, Brad.
Random bruises and scars keep Alex covered up from head to toe. The blueish, purple, even sometimes brown blotches stay sculpted to her skin for sometimes weeks, even months at a time. When she is asked about them, she comes up with the bull shit stories, such as, "I got hurt at dance" or "Hah, ran into the door again." Because Alex is a klutz, it's easy for her to get away with these lies, but her and her sister both know the real reason for these aches -- them being that they are from her father, who is an abusive alcoholic to the two. Because of the recent economy crush, things at home have gotten worse in the household. Brad tends to blame everything that goes wrong on the two girls, especially his business becoming bankrupt. Nobody in the town knows except the two girls, and to keep his business running, he is often stealing money from customers.
Alexandria dreads going home, especially weekend nights because that's when her dad doesn't have work the next day, so he can drink bottles at a time. She is well involved in school, being in the top 10% of her class. Dance makes up her life, keeping her from her house and always staying at the studio. When she's not there, she's with her buddy Rhett who has been her childhood friend since she was seven years old, but he doesn't even know about the situation.
Even though Alex has been surrounded by money all of her life, she can't stand it and wishes she lived an average life in an average home. Her decked out house and Lexus do not phase her, and she infact wishes she had none of it. She despises all the prissy bitches around the town and in school and thinks they are all fake. She has yet to find a real person in school to befriend except Rhett and her sister, but those are both givens. She usually keeps to herself since she finds it hard to trust people because of the situation with her dad, and has only had one boyfriend, who didn't last for very long because she wouldn't let him in fully and he was too frustrated by it.
Anybody would think that because her dad is an alcoholic, Alex would never pick up a drink, but it is the total opposite and though she doesn't admit it, it scares her shitless. Whenever she drinks, she drinks, and is usually being carried home and into her bed. She's afraid the the "alcoholic" genes are in her family and is always craving the taste of alcohol. Some days she can stop herself from drinking, but mostly every weekend, she is out at a bar or club, passing through security because of her gorgeous looks.
Alexandria does wish she could switch lives with every person she meets, but she is a strong believer in fate and knows everything happens for a reason. Though her life style isn't everything she wished and hoped it'd be, it has made her a stronger woman and taught her to grow up and fend for herself. She already has a job working as a dance instructor in her dance studio she has been to her whole life and is on her way to Princeton University in New Jersey for business in the entertainment industry.
